Big agree on the description of tonal balance + lack of definition on transient attack. Because of that, my initial impression was pretty lukewarm with these. But... I keep listening to them way more than I'd expect -- struggling to identify why I'm enjoying it as much as I am. Maybe I'll get over it in a week, but I'm reaching for this a lot when I don't need to be.

haha sometimes we do get that unexplainable subjectivity 😅 maybe because of the fit? or happens to be exact match for the current playlist?

@@aftersound_review Fit's good, tonal balance is close to my ideal, and has a nice sense of depth from pretty decent bass. I did also notice that it has a fairly large hump of harmonic distortion in the midrange, and wonder if perhaps that contributes both to the middling incisiveness, but also the je ne sais quoi that keeps me coming back.

This is for my ears one of the best options under $250. Juzear 41T, Hisenior Mega 5p and Aful performer 5 are solid options.

I agree with your options, I would also mention the Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite, very solid tunning and 8BA configuration.

juzear 41t vs performer 5? What do you recommend me to buy?

I have these and feel the similar way. Attack transients have blunted edges, dynamics swings are weak, they simply have no energy at all in all frequencies.

Someone said I should get this as a monitor for vocal singing. Should I get this over the kiwiears quintet?

honestly i wouldn’t buy em for vocal monitor, as i also have performed in a band, they sound too soft for me during live performance also the cable is too thick
