Can’t believe he was so close shifting manual compared to sequential 1/4 mile times. Very clean driving. 👏
I think with the close range gearing and quaife lsd isn't that far from a sequential
Also looks like he has flat foot shifting as well

@@Aidzius88 His 0-60 and 1/4 mile times were faster than all other traditional manual cars and only slower than cars with sequential gearboxes (except R34 for 1/4 mile time). Looks to me like he is shifting like a pro.
Props to both drivers. Gotta say that dude was driving the hell out of that Subaru.
It is crazy how well the STI is build and tuned. Almost zero turbolag after gearshift. Perfection with this amount of power 😍
thats because he was running antilag, you can hear it on the run-off/slow downs

As a scooby owner, I was rooting for the Subaru, but with the huge difference in power-to-weight ratio between these two, I was surprised at how well the R8 kept up. Just goes to show how much a faster transmission counts and how much car tech has evolved. Nice race 😎

That Subaru / driver combo is deadly....The driver sure know's how to get the best from his machine. Taking down a dct R8 in both roll and drag is no joke.....That Subaru is seriously Badass!!
My word, that was FUN to watch. Genuine didn't think the scooby wouldn't have been that dominant against the V10 and DSG combo, the R8 is an immense car in its own right considering thats factory spec.
Shame that flat stopped play.

This Subaru is really well tuned in the way it puts the power down, the gear box and the engine synchronized really well. To top it up, Rob really know how to launch that car

I'm very happy to see a Scooby (GC8) which was built by EngineTuner. Back in the day they took on my car after it had been worked on by three other well known turners and always had issues. After the amazing dad/son combo at EngineTuner had spent time diagnosing my cars issues and resolving them, it never went better and was fantastic for the first time in all driving styles (i.e. it was great on boost but also smooth around towns at low revs). The chaps at EngineTuner really are amazing engineers.

Looking across and hitting the rec limiter in 3rd on the 2nd roll race was the only reason it was a draw. The rest of the time the Scooby was faster. Great video and fun comparison. R8 is on power 100% of the time whilst the Scooby goes through gear changes and small moments of lag as it gets back onto full boost. Lovely to watch. Good on both guys.
