- This week on Tool Time Tuesday we're having a look at one of my most regularly used tools in the knife shop. My Foredom. Remember that Foredom has offered one of these as a giveaway to celebrate 100K subscribers on this channel. Have a look at this video and see why I love this tool so much!
Full disclosure: Foredom has not paid me anything and does not sponsor this channel or this video in any way. They have simply donated a Foredom for me to give away after I had asked for it.

About Simple Little Life:
This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:
Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.
Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.

Foredom tip:
Glue a little Neo Magnet (or 3) on the 1/2" wrench, you can use it to get the collets out (I can't be the only one who can't get ahold of em) and it keeps the wrench/chain/pin in/on something where you can find it. There's nothing worse than needing to change burrs and finding the key under the sandpaper after wasting half an hour....
*after wasting 4 days looking for it
Jeremy this has become my favorite channel lately u are a one of a kind craftsmen and what i LOVE about your channel its not always about u...U are SO HUMBLE and CONSIDERATE u always try to elevate your fellow man and praise them for trying to make a knife... YOUR A ONE OF A KIND guy just wanted to say THANKS for all your HARD WORK and making this channel a pleasure to watch...If everyone was like u this world would be a better place....Thanks again Jeremy
I believe that a bad person might be able to hide how much evil is in their life for a while. Jeremy exhibits how a decent dude just oozes goodness. How can you not like this guy? Also, how do folks think that sending him their phone numbers, etc. is going to make a difference in the drawing? Or do people just really suck that badly at directions? Perhaps both. It is to laugh.
That foredom is truly an awesome tool. Thanks for sharing yours with us Brother. Have a blessed night.
Thanks brother. Love the jacobs chuck.
Really great tool Jeremy, thanks for the video.
See you finally hit 100k. Congrats
Great tool time Tuesday
Very cool review Jeremy! I have been following you for a while now and have really come to enjoy your videos. Thanks for the info on some of the bits!
This is just too funny. I found your channel yesterday, and have been hooked. I watched this video and it reminded me that I was given a bench top rotary tool like this about a year ago. I hadn't had a chance to use it yet, and had just put it away. Turns out it is a Foredom series SB! I'll take that as a sign that I should follow my interest in this as a hobby. Love your videos by the way, you have an EXCELLENT channel here. Needless to say, I have already subbed! Take care, Colin
Always like seeing your viewers knives
Keep up the fantastic content!
Jeremy, consider mounting the handpiece upside down, just like a drill press. That way the dust will not clog the chuck and you can raise or lower the bit so you get to use the whole bit face.. Congratulations on the 100k subs.
Good info, I have a couple Fordoms both pedestal mounted and one of the handiest tools I made is a little disc sander/polisher. Its just a 1.25 inch heavy leather disc mounted on a mandrel used to back a piece of sandpaper. No need to glue the paper, the mandrel screw holds everything securely and when you use 600grt paper its great for polishing and blending.
As a new knife maker the Foredom looks like an excellent tool to have in any knife makers repertoire
Hello from Guam, Great video on the Foredom
Great video! I gotta get one of those...it just moved up my wish list. I have a Dremel which I rarely use because it is so hard to control. When I do an Anso texture handle with the Dremel, with the stress that causes, I need a good stiff drink afterwards!
When you're off work injured, videos like these really help you to remember what day of the week it is :P ohh yeah... it's tuesday. Those typhoon type bits are crazy. There are some really wicked/mean looking ones out there but may need more of a die grinder to run them. Keep up the great vids Jer.
+Bradley Macaulay thanks so much and I hope you get better soon!
Awesome tool! I'm sure everyone is hoping to win that : )
100,000 subs! Nice job
Nice video! Love the channel.
Good run down on the tool.
I've never used a Fordom tool before and I found your video made me want one now.
Hope I win it. :)

I have the exact same water bottle as you. Great minds drink alike!

P.S... love your channel.👍
Reverse feature is great 👍. Saves getting stone dust in your eyes and lungs 🫁
how long time is it gonna take to get a knife featured in viewer knifes??
Does this tool have good torque to polish aluminum and cast iron engine heads? If so I'd much rather have this the purchase a large compressor for my home garage
Where's the link you talk about at 1:46
Not one thousand 800 rpm as you said , but 18,000 rpm is the top speed.
anybody know what it cost and jeremy keep up the good work and congrats on 100k subs
Good vid. Do u know if the only way 2 control the speed is with a foot pedal or does Foredom make a handle with an onboard controller ?
Foredom make an desk speed control. You set the speed and adjust the speed.
Bonjour monsieur j'aimerais bien acheter un forEdom mais le quelle exactement pour la sculpture sur bois ?.
Which model is this?
Uuuuuu. .... Im pretty sure I need several of those Foredoms...how long can you use one before it heats up?
Foredom's motors are rated for continuous duty, mine usually outlasts me.
Yolo
Pls make more knife making vids
Me too.....please.
So is it like a beefed up dremel?
Sorry you answered that later in the video
😍😍😙😘😘😘
Is the giveaway also applied to europe? :)
only for the t shirt and sanding block.
Foredom at 4 minutes in.
so is the boredom pretty much just a much better version of a dremel
foredom

Simple Little Life ok. Good cause i just ordered the wood carvers kit. Can't wait for friday to come. Lol. Love your channel. I need to send my first knife pic to you for your viewers knives some day. Getting ready to start my 2nd one
Sweet! You're going to love it! Hope you got it today! Do send it in for sure! Cheers👍
How much do they cost?
Jemm Jubah $39233829
Jemm Jubah plus tax
+Jemm Jubah all depends on where you live. I bought mine from Lee Valley
Hey Jeremy i totally forgot to tell you all that stuff hahaha i made those knives actually. I’m 16 years old from Ohio and i actually have since started my own company you can find me at @Alstadtknives on instagram and see how much better my new knives are compared to these
Maybe it's just me, but I'm missing the normal intro music.
The video "Fixing the Dixie Cutter" has the music I'm referring to. Maybe I'm just noticing the change and it's been awhile.
It's 18000 not 1800 rpm
I think you would like to see me become awesome like you. I'll get this foredom ✋
Can you give me a foredom tool
Dude I need. A foredom pls I can't afford it :(
