- The Materials Characterization Lab: Auger Electron Spectroscopy
A Scanning Auger Microscope is an instrument that combines the spatial resolution of an electron microscope with the surface sensitivity of XPS. A focused electron beam (3-20 keV) is scanned across a sample. Atoms near the surface are ionized, and a fraction of the ionized atoms relax via the Auger process.

We were doing Auger Spectroscopy at Weirton Steel Corp beginning in the early 1970's. It was new but very effective at identifying contamination on finished steel surface.
Thank you
Is it possible to get the ppt
Thank you for the great content.
Now I am learning AES. Could you please provide or suggest the book to learn this instrument?
Thank you
What's the difference between SE and inelastically scattered electrons?
Apparently, there are 3 different pronunciations of the word and name "Auger".
