I feel like people have totally missed the point here. He’s not being cocky and saying this is the greatest song in the world, he’s saying believe in your talent, don’t give up and you’ll produce something great. I love the lyrics at the beginning where he says get down your idea - it might not become anything, but it might become something, you never know, but you have to give it a shot. As a writer, that totally resonates with me.

Its not bad!! It just isn’t anything special, he’s a great and charismatic guy which is why I think that’s why he went to the finals. But the live version can’t compete with what he did with Fairytale, love him loads. And the song is good, just not anything special

It's been a week since the end of this year's Eurovision Song Contest and I am still listening to your song. As a matter of fact, I will be listening to it for a long time because it is now a part of my "Favourites" CZcams playlist.
In my opinion, this year we saw a great event in Portugal with very interesting technological innovations and really good songs competing; however, it seems that people still lack musical criteria judging from the song they chose to win... I respect it though.
Alexander, I do not know if you'll ever read this message, but if you do, I needed to write to you that being a musician myself I have seen a good evolution to you as far as your music and performance are concerned. Your sound is better, your melodies show progress and you have grown to become a great performer singing, dancing and playing live on stage.
As far as I am concerned, "That's how you write a song" is even better than "Fairytale" - they are different genres, but your personal progress shows.
Keep up the good work, do not get discouraged and we expect to see more of you!

I think the problem that most people has with this song is because "Fairytale" was such a huge success that they got really dissapointed with this one. But, come on, this is still a great song, really catchy and Alexander has such charisma, just go and watch his performance live. I believe he'll do great in the semi-final.

This song is so outstanding and intelligent !! Alexander takes pieces from the early 30's via the swingin sixties, the disco i the seventies and mixes this with gypsi violins.
When you read the lyrics you can't help but wonder how this song got so far. But then you hear a VIOLIN SOLO (there's no way you get wrong with a violin solo)! One of my favorites to win the ESC this year!
