Federer actually has many shots that are the best of all time, or within top 3 or 5. Forehand = best ever, slice = best ever, overhead = top 3, volley = top 3, dropshot = top 3, serve = top 10. The freaking GOAT
Best slice backhand, I'd say. The reflex squash shots are a treat to watch, but his slice backhand is almost an offensive weapon, because it stays so incredibly low.
That's one of best-struck forehands I've ever seen Federer hit. That's the kind of shot that only Roger Federer can hit. No one can learn that sort of technique.
1:09 That forehand as he's dipping backwards and to the side is like a perfectly executed fadeaway in basketball. He makes it look ridiculously easy, but not even Rafa or Djokovic can hit that shot. Only Roger Federer can hit that kind of forehand let alone a winner.
I remember after hamburg's 2007 final nadal said something like "his forehand was just too good". I can't remember nadal saying that about anybody else ever again.
It's not the best forehand in tennis history. It's the BEST SHOT in tennis history.

Keep telling yourself that darling
Is not top 3 in volleying. Not even close.

@@rjamesyork In the 21st century for sure, but yeah. In tennis history overall? It is a bit of a stretch.
how is he the goat if he's got a losing record against Nadal and Djokovic, less slams and less records?
You forgot the forehand half volley winner in the Wimbledon 2003 semi final against Roddick. Roger won the second set with that shot

Some of the editing is a bit iffy. Didn't even see one shot because the editing was so poor.
