I've been requesting this kind of initiative for a long time - allies using some of their funds to buy weapons for Ukraine directly from US stocks.

Europe is already buying way too much from the US, while the US almost completely insists on 'buy american' for its own forces.
US is buying tiny amounts in EU for itself and Ukr, while GER alone currently has outstanding orders of 21 billion US$ with US industry (F35, Chinook, Poseidon, Patriot), paying US taxes and supporting US industry and US workers.
      That simply isn't sustainable.

I have no moral objections against actively using the prison population to aid in the war effort as long as there is no coercion and left to individual choice, whether it is creating components for weapons systems, manning communication consoles, packaging rations or serving in the military in some capacity or other - taking part in the country's total defense (military+civilian branches)

@atp geo Greetings JP. Regarding Ukraine build up industrial capacity and underground facilities (see 18:06), unfortunately during the air defense missile shortage the rooskie orc invaders have significantly dismantled Ukraine's power generation network. I saw a comment that Ukraine cannot even import enough power to make up the shortfall, and the repairs will take years. This item is a huge concern going forward. Frankly, had the arrogant/stupid orcs used the NATO doctrine and attacked energy in the early stages of the war, this conflict might have ended already (badly for Ukraine).

Morning ATP team. America already has massive amounts of equipment forward deployed in Europe. "The Army’s prepositioned stock for Europe, called APS-2, include vehicles and weapons in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, and Poland that U.S. troops can use without waiting weeks for their home-based equipment to arrive on ships." "For 2022, the Defense Department requested $1.19 billion for prepositioned stocks as part of the European Deterrence Initiative, less than the $1.94 billion it had received the year before, according to a Congressional Research Service report." there are massive stocks in Europe that can and should be used. All this stuff needs to get sent to Ukraine.........what are we waiting for...China to land on Briton Beach? Iran to parachute into Paris? What are we waiting for ? American stocks to deter an invasion of Europe should be used to defeat an ongoing invasion of Europe .

When it comes to Elon Musk, he started as a strong and vital supporter of Ukraine, but ... well, he is an egocentric, and such people usually mean trouble. I was actually not surprised, as the way he runs his businesses is authoritarian and dictatorial, with a conviction that he knows everything better than anyone else. Which simply is not always true.
So, when he finally switched sides, I was not surprised, and it looks like either the russians got him scared, or he decided himself that Ukraine must not damage the Black Sea Fleet. It looks like Ukraine had the chance in September 2022 to make a surprise attack with sea drones on unaware russian ships - and as you know the Kalibr missiles fired by them are responsible for a lot of civilian death and destruction in Ukraine. Turning off Starlink simply gutted the Ukrainian chance there. Now, the Black Sea Fleet is more or less history, they are so scared and hampered they can hardly hurt civilians anymore, and the Black Sea trade is open, so there is no increasing hunger in Africa or Asia, and Ukraine can make some vital money enabling other people to survive as well.
The last piece of Musks support of Putin's dictatorship is the fact the russians use Starlink now as well, and still do. Musk denies it, but it happens. It is one of the reasons Putin's army got better.
My personal opinion of that guy is: He believes in 'Long-termism' a philosophy that today people with power should set mankind on a course into a prosperous future in century or so. I have seen communication between Musk and Lewis from TIK History where Musk was analysing ' Hitler and 'Stalin, and he was full of praise and admiration for their economic models and ruthlessness to achieve their goals. He seems to believe that Stalin's Industrialisation was so effective, a great gift to the russian people. He did not even mention that the way it was done cost at least 20 millions of lives, some of them in Ukraine due to starvation in the Holodomor. And just to clarify, as you already know, other nations industrialised without having to starve a part of their population to death, they actually managed to let the people themselves get Industrialisation and Modernization done IN CONSENT WITH THE PEOPLE BY THOSE PEOPLE through market economies with a little financial incentive in a sustainable way. People managed to get rich while industrializing, to improve their living standards - except under Stalin and Mao, who also knew better then anyone else.
So, I'm deeeeeply worried about a narcissistic egocentric that does not care about the life or death of individuals the way Stalin did just to achieve his goals having ANY influence on my future.
My theory on Musk is that he thinks dictatorships with people like him on top are better for the future of mankind. So, now I can add 'megalomania' onto my list for characteristics of Elon Musk.
So, when russian propagandists now 'shallow-fake' Elon Musk it is a rather small, natural step. I think that is why the russians believe it so easily, and the propagandists did not put much effort into it, as It simply matches the expectation.
On Twitter he already is since that moment in September 2022 spreading right-wing, russian and general dictatorship/anti-democratic talking points with his south-african soul-brother David Sacks.
From my point of view: The less influence Musk has on mankind in this socio-political area, the better it will be for all of us. I want to have a society worth living in, not be the 'worker ant' of a totalitarian-minded 'long-termist' ruler.
But I also respect what he did on the technological side with Tesla, to show the world that mobility works without burning hydrocarbons. So maybe he should simply stay in the technology sector, and stay away from the social/political sector. I think if he does that, his long-term thinking will have a positive effect on mankind's future and our here and now.
Just an example: Henry Ford revolutionized production through setting up production lines, which was great for mankind. But he also loved the Nazi Ideology, and supported them as long as it was possible. I'm a scientist myself, a chemist, so I understand that sometimes, quite often highly intelligent people can lack massively in other sectors/aspects of knowledge.
Then they should focus on what they're good at, and not try to meddle in other people's lives.

But we shouldn't forget that despite all the rhetoric, that Macron has come under heavy criticism by top military personnel in the past because of their dissatisfaction with the desolate condition of the french army. Thanks Jonathan, Musk reminds me of big US version of Richard Branson - made his money smuggling, got off and with Thatcher's blessing went on to take the piss with our Rail, tried the NHS etc. Total carpetbagger
