The fall of the Kamakura Shogunate was due in part to the Mongol Empire's invasion of Japan.
One reason for this was that the shogunate did not reward the local warlords and samurai who had defeated the Mongol army, which caused the Kamakura government to lose its unifying power and allowed opposing forces to grow in power.

I am sorry if it is rude or inappropriate to you, since I use the online translation site.
It may seem cruel to modern people, but in Japan from the 11th to 16th centuries, enemy heads were like trophies, and those who earned the most enemy heads received a promotion or a bonus. (For the wives and daughters of samurai, it was an important task to clean the heads of enemies that their husbands and fathers had brought home.)

Aw thank you so much. Not rude at all. ♥️
Really?!? Thank you for telling us this! We had no idea. That is so interesting. The level of detail and culture in this anime is amazing!

Thank you for reacts to many J animes.
Recently in Japan, there have been a series of works based on Japan, such as The story of the Heike, Crows Do Not Choose Their Masters, and Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. This work's "Elusive Samurai" is part of that trend.
By the way, samurai are a class whose occupation of fighting, and the era in which samurai held real power and was also involved in politics age is to speak, the military goverment era.
It began in the Kamakura period (Kanagawa Prefecture), to continued the Northern and Southern, the Muromachi period (Kyoto), the Sengoku period, the Edo period (Tokyo), and once again return to the Emperor sistem, then losing the war with America and become the current system.
Incidentally, Japan doesn't use the Western calendar much, instead using era names (titles given to years), but this is because the Emperor originally had the right to set era names.

Thank you for always bringing interesting information and back ground to us. It just adds to what we are watching.
I didn’t realize there was such a trend going on but I am loving it!
Sakuna of Rice and Ruin did catch my eye admittedly because the video game looked adorable.
Love seeing so much about Samurai!

      @@DipDownAnime Thanks.
The game Sakuna is a unique Japanese-style action RPG that combines action with elements that deeply recreate Japan's traditional rice cultivation, which has even attracted the interest of Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. It has also been made into an anime, and is currently a popular work in Japan.

I'm impressed that he found "Hojo Tokiyuki." As expected from Matsui Yusei.
There is no other "fleeing hero" like him in Japanese history. While there have been previous accounts of the Northern and Southern Court period seen from the perspective of Ashikaga Takauji and the Southern Court, seeing the period from the perspective of Hojo Tokiyuki is truly fresh. It's been properly converted into a boys' manga.(Unlike some game makers, we are not claiming that this is historical fact.)I hope you all enjoy this wonderful tale.
Our next opponent is one of the biggest scumbags in Japanese history. Stay tuned!
