    the way her natural nails look is the main reason i don't get acrylics anymore. Like they're soo pretty but for me it's not worth it to destroy my natural nails
    Edit- Guys, the filing the nail plate is what is damaging, and it is a necessary step for acrylics. That is why acrylics are damaging. Of course they grow out, but waiting for the grow out is awful. And of course anyone can do what they want with their nails, I was only talking about myself in this comment. (notice the “I” “me” “my”) It’s just for me personally, I’m not willing to deal with that damage EVER again. I don’t want to have to get acrylics done every 2-3 weeks, and I don’t want to deal with the nail grow out phase if I get a set removed, so I’m just not going to get acrylics done anymore.
    edit 2- I got gel nails done and they filed my nail plate as well, so I’m dealing with that grow out phase again. It’s so bad. Adding gel to my personal list of things I won’t get 😭

    Why do i feel that this process is actually damaging the original nails?

    • @iriiss03
      @iriiss03 Před 2 lety +48

      It does. You should never let pure acetone touch the skin either the nail. You can perfectly file the acrylic with the drill without damaging the natural nail if you do it right and with the correct power. Also, there's specific products that dissolves the acrylic quick and safety.

    • @i.8885
      @i.8885 Před 2 lety +35

      @@iriiss03 acetone hasn't been found damaging to the natural nail by chemists and you think it is?😂 It's not damaging, it's extremely drying. Apply a cream or oil on your cuticles before soaking to protect your skin from drying out and when you're done hydrate again! Acetone cannot remove layers from your nails, this happens if you force the product off before it's soft enough

    • @i.8885
      @i.8885 Před 2 lety +13

      If you overfile them or scrape the remaining product violently it is, that's why you wanna do it correctly or get it done by a professional. If done right you won't harm the nails at all. Usually due to human error mine do get weak but that's on me and my naturally thin nails. Others with stronger nails wouldn't have an issue like I do.

    • @iriiss03
      @iriiss03 Před 2 lety +9

      @@i.8885 if you see the polish removals it usually never comes with pure acetone, because it's very damaging for the nail with over exposure. Of course if you do it on the right time and occasionally it's not harmful, but when you do your nails regular it will be. If you have thicker nails it probably don't get as weak as it would be with thiner nails, but it doesn't mean that it is not damaging. It's like the hair bleaching, it's damaging for the hair, but you can contrarest the damage with good quality moisturizing products (that not everyone can afford) and if you have thickest hair it won't damage as it would be on thin hair, but you need to have these other products, otherwise your hair would look dry, and if you apply the bleach again and again on your hair it will break it. It's simple. Why use a product that can be harmful for many of your clients if there's others specifically made for this process, and alternatives methods as well as the nail drill. You don't have to believe me, you said it yourself and you can prove it anytime, so 🤷

So my best advice is just to embrace the short and natural nails, it’s been most helpful for me to achieve healthier nails naturally ☺️

      The reason why you shouldn't do that is because you are also peeling off the top of your natural nail. The way the structure of the nail works is that cells are pushed up when new ones are produced on the bottom and the ones on top harden. So what you are doing is removing the hardest part of the nail and leaving softer nail that is more porous and able to absorb things that are harmful to you. Your nails then become brittle and if you go for another acrylic set, they will buff the top in order for the new set to stick, removing even more of your natural nail. Then acrylic and monomer is applied on a nail that has been thinned, monomer is absorbed into the natural nail and the nail bed and you have a perfect recipe for an allergic reaction. The moment you develop an allergy against the monomer, that's it. No more acrylics for you for the rest of your life. Can't cure an allergic unfortunately. Never go there again!!!!!

      If it looks goey it means that the nails were built w an illegal product idk much about this but yeah usually cheap places use that product or sum

      I heard that if it’s flaky then the products in it are actually harming your nails so idk what to believe but imma stick with the goey one as the good one for now

    I would advise you to file the gels with a milling machine first and then clip the nails as if someone would like to have longer nails. I do not want to get smart but this is my opinion.😙😙

    She’s taking off acrylics that aren’t even done being worn yet. What’s the point of getting them if your only going to wear them on for less than a week? 🤷🏽‍♀️

    I burned my nail a few times trying to take off my nail… and i took that beautiful set off because on my right hand ring finger nail I grabbed a ball- but it hit my nail and my nail was the extra long nail the longest nail. And it lifted my actual nail and it’s lifted pretty deep back… I’m sure my nail will remove itself worse pain to experience I was afraid of touching it. Or letting anyone take my nail off so I did it myself I lowered my other nails with my drill. It burned a few times. But I got it off then I did the soak off with the other hand and my injuried nail- it came off sorta I got impatient and drilled off the rest. And I did it well and then I buffed my nails and put culticle oil after washing my hand. I was proud 😭
