This Lexus GX 470 is pretty wild. Started as any ol' soccer-mom-mobile and Chase has transformed it over the years to what you see here. Super capable offroad, while also having a full, super functional interior/exterior build out to overland for months on end. The GX470 has a lot to love - notably, they all came with V8s. It's basically what people in other countries know of as the Land Cruiser Prado - one step up from a 4runner, but not quite a "real" Land Cruiser. Anyway, this is Chase's take on this sweet platform of the Lexus GX 470

Good vid! Driving with thermal is way better in my opinion and not crazy expensive. BUUUUUUUUUT the Digital lowlight live feed cameras (Sionyx etc.) works exceptionally well with IR or great without if decent ambient light conditions. That what I have on my 80 series

Just came back from 10k miles road trip without upgrades right after purchasing!Looking forward to do a few upgrades but don’t want to put to much weight on it! Not looking to do 8 miles to the gallon or so…roof rack , tent, side holders, front rear , bumper, wheel on back door….

You know your first gen sequoia has the same engine and specs as this except without KDSS. You could always lift it up and do some sick stuff to it! I have the same limited sequoia as you and this is my dream build for it lol so I’d love to see what you would use 😂

I’ve been searching for a GX for awhile now and I’ve found one that is owned by my good friend’s grandparents and it’s absolutely MINT and well taken care of and I’m trying my best to pry it away from them. Hopefully they’ll take me up on my offer soon.

Great rig. GX is definitely the way to go vs 4runner. We got a brand new GX 460 for the wife to just enjoy on road and for trips to the beach and it's been absolutely amazing. So comfortable and quiet on the highway. Once that thing is paid off... it might be time for wheels and tires, eventually it would be awesome to get bumpers. We'll see!

@@amorton94Oh yeah I don't doubt it. Quality components are a must. I just feel that a heater (box) costing the same as 2 or 3 rooftop tents is a bit steep. It's better spent on something like suspension, wheels/tires, lights...

GREAT ADVICE--- do it yourself so you'll know how to fix it--- BUT- I'm old, and have been mashed between two trucks in 99 and can't... so I can NO longer go offroading.. a slight sudden jar can potentally ruin me for life... either paralyzing me or worse... but I love watching..
