Lol every single gamer dude that reveal its face goes to the gym and has a phisique better than the avarage guy. Cool men keep the good work on game and on the gym.
Thanks for the great video , but you should have started explaining your rating system. I have no idea what S means and then A, B , C ???
I agree with every one of your placings except for Elex 2, Elex 2 for me was a bitter disappointment.
Just stumbled across your channel, this video was great! I really liked the details and explanations for each games ranking. We need a ranking video for spiders games!!
Speaking as a German, the voice acting for Gothic 1 and 2 was brilliant, also I think our polish neighbours were pretty impressed by their version.
as a polish neighbor I can confirm the voice acting was spot on !
Polish version is amazing in terms of voice actors and translation.
As a Russian speaker I’ve been always choosing German voices over Russian and English, although I don’t speak German. There’s something off about other localisations. Except maybe Polish, I would agree, strong second place here
gothic 1-2 and risen 1 are the holy trinity of piranha bytes games
It sadens me that gothic 3 wasnt even 50% of what devs wanted it to be 😢
What saddens me even more is that it's also a fact for the first gothic :(... like the 4th camp.
@@michasokoowski6651 but it still turned out great. Gothic 3 was way too ambigious for that time. They only managed to finish like 30% of the game and it was still better than some of other rpgs with way bigger budget, looking at you Dragon Age 2&3 or almost all triple A rpgs in recent years.
@@DonXardas Gta 4 was highly ambitious for that time but it turned out great. This could've been the case with Gothic 3 too but unfortunately, as we all know, greed always ruins everything. Man I can only wonder what titan of a game this thing could've been if given enough time. And when I say enough time I'm talking years.
@@michasokoowski6651 check out Gothic sequel, thank me later
@@marcinwitkowski217 wasn't this mod cancelled or someone returned to work on it?
Gothic 3, to me, has the best atmosphere I've ever encountered in a game, there is just something about it I can't quite describe. Maybe it's nostalgia but I don't really care, I love this game so much.
this game was my first pc game ever, wich i bought on release. i wasnt into rpg then. after that i am full into rpg!
Big fax!
I couldnt disagree more. Imo g3 has no atmosphere whatsoever. To each their own.
I know it’s not Piranha Bytes but a Spiders game, which are almost identical in my opinion. I feel the same about Technomancer.
Well, nostalgia is a very strong emotion, but the game is very good also :)
I actually enjoyed Risen 2 a lot. Obviously its a different setting and story approach but i never had problems with that
Story and quest design is the best they ever did. Everything else is lackluster, or completely broken. Plus the switch from high fantasy to Pirates of the Caribbean puts a lot of people off.
@@stefanroman3570 but why
@@kbityy why is the idea of pirates so offputting just because they had a different theme before. No one complains about God of War setting being norse mythology when it was 3 games of greek mythology before
@@kbityy why
@@obba40 not the idea itself is offputting. It was the switch to that was offputting. It felt kinda unnatural. Dont know.
If they would just have stated that this is a new franchise, not Risen but XYZ it would have been much better.
You should do one of these with games from spiders! This video is great, you didn't just lazily throw a list together to make a video, you spent time explaining and discussing each game. I really enjoy the detail you go into with your videos. 👍🍻
Risen 1 for sure had best combat in all of pyranha bytes games (aside from magic I guess).
Not sure if I'm only one but I also love magic system from Gothic 3, it's one of the most fun magic systems overall for me. Pretty fun spells :)
same
had to go with ranged or magic in the R2 and R3 because melee got so bad it was mindboggling
I finished Gothic 3 as a mage not that long ago. At first there was a lot of running around and throwing fireballs, but after a while the game was on easy mode. Just throw 2 rains of fire and almost everyone is dead haha
I much prefer Gothic 2 combat system than Risen 1. Talking recent, Piranha really needs to do some homework on combat systems. It's really jarring in their new games, everything is okay but the combat system always sticks out like a sore thumb and always feels like a prototype
@@nerevar8823 True, I think Pyranha Bytes was actually making souls like combat in Gothic 2, so if they stuck with this route they could have made Dark Souls before the Dark Souls, but instead something happened to them and they completely changed direction (for the worse).
The German voice acting of Gothic 1 is superb.
2 too
Sooo True most time frogotten its a german game and fully perfecly done in german. the later english adaption is pretty cheap.
I know the majority of people hated Risen 2 and 3 but for me those games were awesome. The tropical island setting and just the graphics itself blew me away at the time.
I especially remember the fire effects in Risen 3 being incredible, even to this day. It's so liquidy (er... plasma-ey)!
I think they do the whole Caribbean setting better than any other game with pirates.
Gothic 1 is just so insanely good
Your channel has become one of my favorite I look forward to. Like B-horror movies growing up, I'll always enjoy games that are not AAA and those games tend to enjoy a certain creative freedom over something that is desperate for a wide audience to make its money back. Exploration, surprising choices and twists, and irreverent dialogue are what makes these games shine for me.
I loved risen 2 and 3, and the pirate thing didn't come out of nowhere. The setting of the island its flora is basically Caribbean, plus the buildings looked like early pirate themed, and patty at the end saying she was going to look for her father wich whom is a pirate. It's just like pillars of eternity.
Yeah, I'm also a fan of pirate settings, and it's underutilized in RPGs. I liked those games more than Elex.
Yeah, the pirate setting was, and still is unique meanwhile there are a thousand games to fight world War 1 and 2 or a medieval setting.
My main issue with pirate or anything posterior to medieval RPGs is the sillines of using clothing as armour. So you have a cloth jacket that somehow protects you better than your other cloth jacket for who know what reason. Besides, with guns on the table the whole combat part of the game should actually change a lot more than it usually does so you end up with basically overpowered crossbows with insta hit and enemies that are easy to shot. If there are guns firing people are taking cover unless they are in a firing line.
What a great idea for a video. Love your stuff mate.
Risen 2 was my first Piranha Bytes game so naturally I love it, but then I got Risen 3 and noticed half the assets were from Risen 2 haha! I like how they have used the same terrain in Elex 1 for Elex 2 but switched up the biomes and made it feel fresh.
That's why they're able to release games in such quick succession; they'll work on a game and make improvements to the engine over some years, then they drop the game, and if it's received well, they basically just lightly modify the original game so they can double the profit they make :)
Obsidian has done the same thing with Fallout 1/2, Knights of the Old Republic 1/2, and Fallout 3/New Vegas :)
It's a really great way for smaller studios that make less revenue to compete with huge AAA Developers, while not compromising their artistic vision.
It is also a typical Piranha Bytes move and it does not work that well all of the times, but I think if they do it in an intelligent way it is fine. Like in Gothic 2 you just go back to the valley of mines, after all it is mostly considered the better game, though Gothic 1 was more innovative in my opinion.
Regarding Fallout 1 and 2 or Kotor I do not think they exploited it that much... Of course they are not developing a new engine for each new game, so the re-usage for items is totaly fine, they did not re use a complete map or something like that... Regarding new vegas and the bethesda games, the bethesda engine feels more like a good and successful sandbox, but it always feels like skyrim with laser weapons to me.
Problem with Elex 1 to 2 was that they had almost no new artwork and the bit that was added, did feel quite underwhelming in my opinion.
@@vornamenachname4232 I mean, in Fallout 2 and New Vegas, there was almost no new artwork, they simply re-used all of the same assets, and built a new map, which is the equivalent of a AAA production studio doing a glorified mod, and KOTOR 2 was basically the same, with a few more unique assets. But this is the exact reason that Obsidian has received so much praise over the years, because they focus on narrative, player freedom, and constructing rich worlds that tell beautiful stories, and it's a lot easier for them to do that if they can just re-use the engine, assets, combat systems, etc. so they can dedicate their time and budget to shaping the world that those various tools ultimately form.
And of course the Fallout games are very similar to the Elder Scrolls games, but I think that's a really good thing! Bethesda is the only developer that currently makes these massive, sandbox style, action RPGs that have incredibly immersive systems that add up to create the most realistic worlds in videogames. And since Bethesda is the only studio doing this, it's a very good thing that they have more than one IP with which to do it.
To be frank, I think it's better if studios slowly add to the same engine/combat systems/immersive mechanics throughout all of their titles, as Bethesda has, rather than starting over for every video game, or every couple videogames in some cases. Bethesda went from being a AA production company in the 90's and arguably early 2000's, to being the most valuable studio ever iirc, and they did that by using the exact same engine, the same mechanics, and the same premise throughout all of their games, and slowly adding to the systems over the last two decades.
If PB wants to be successful, there's no better model to follow than that of Bethesda and arguably Obsidian as well. I haven't played the second Elex, but I've never seen a developer get panned for doing "the same thing, but significantly better" for any sequel, and if Elex 2 was disappointing, it's really likely that it failed based on it's own merits, not in it's relative similarity to the first game.
Personally, I thought the first Elex was fun for a time, however the combat becomes totally trivial after the mid game, and since the story is so gad awful and there were very few towns and NPCs by modern standards, the game totally fell flat by the end, to the point that I didn't finish it and haven't wanted to go back since.
Been waiting for you to one of these! Great work!
In my opinion Risen 2 is a masterpiece. For a gothic fan as me it may not fulfill the expectation of the previous series feeling but I think they did right to try something new. It is a highly underestimated game.
Well, it is a masterpiece, the problem is, it's compared with fair superior masterpieces.
same my favorite piranha bytes game
Glad to find another Risen 2 enjoyer :D
lol 5/10 game is a masterpiece?
@@jock4551 I said in my opinion, not in public opinion
Wow. For once I'd agree totally with the rankings. Still enjoy all of them though. Now I'll watch the video.
Risen 1 is my absolute favorite Piranha Bites game. The atmosphere and music are incredible. Also I don't think Risen 2 is as bad. I also hated it back when it came out. But then I played it a bunch and it's actually really fun. I would put it in B
Thanks for the vid! I recently purchased the Piranha Bytes & Friends bundle on Steam, so I was figuring out which title (besides Risen, which I already played) I should try out first. Think I'll give ELEX a shot before circling back to the first two Gothic games.
Played gothic 3 demo for like 100h as a kid, then bought the game at local supermarket. I was thrilled. “There are more places than cape dun??? Is that a desert? No way!”
Best game
Gothic 3 was the first ever RPG I've played. I loved the atmosphere, the music, the visual design, and, yes, the full openness of the world. From a technical standpoint, it's an A. I still replay it every year or two and love it. However, the quest design is as shit as it can get, lazy, uninspired; the main story is non-existent (these 2 were the MAIN driving force of G1 and G2, as they were HEAVILY story-focused and the quest design in them was, with a very few exceptions, great), so all PB had to show was the atmosphere and Kai's music.
I love this game, I love walking through the world, but the story, mechanics, quests AND overall gameplay was such a huuuuge step back that I'd honestly give it a C. Again, purely technically and artistically, it's an A, no-brainer, but gameplay-wise and in the light of its predecessors and the bar those set, it's merely a C. I still love it, but it doesn't even get close to the overall feel of G2 at all.
I really don't get your type. I mean yes, it's clunky, unfinished and buggy, but it's not even a competition. Gothic 3's gameplay is better in any shape or form. It's like saying San Andreas's gameplay is better than GTA 4's cuz GTA 4's was a bit clunky and buggy at times, makes no sense. Story-wise, you can make an argument that previous games had a better story keeping in mind that Gothic 3's was highly unfinished. But the gameplay part that's just pure non-sense.
what? from a technical standpoint gothic 3 is a fucking mess, mediocre design and bugs galore
Great video ranking all Piranha bytes! However @click4gameplay you have to give Risen 2 a chance, yes the very beginning of the game is very tedious combat wise, but the story taken solely on a pirate perspective is fun and engaging. Gothic 2 Night of the Raven and Risen 1 expansion pack Dark Waters introduced pirate. So if you take Risen 2 solely on a Pirate adventure then it is quite entertaining, especially after you leave the first island. I am playing Risen 2 at the moment again and Im having a blast.
Jesus man, I have just watched up until Risen 2 so far and I swear the rankings and even the arguments are spot on. t The Gothic 3 part especially, it's like it's literally from my own brain. It's uncanny.
I am with you. G3 was the best (with CP etc.). I think it would have crushed every RPG ever if Jowood wouldn't have pushed PB to the release...we will never know what plans they had for G3...
Absolutely love this game still, and have finished it multiple times. Definitely a broken mess at launch and still today has issues, but the good parts are so good that I can personally look past them and just appreciate it as one of the best open world RPG experiences I have ever had.
@@GrandElemental I know Myrtana better than my neighbourhood ffs lol. hahaha. Really. I know that game by heart. I play it every year or so. Wonderful...
Check the G3 Parallel Universe patch guys.
It spreads the workload to a couple more cores, and helps with frame drops.
G3 still needs a cpu with a strong ipc, but this patch helps a lot.
"May you return in one piece!" :D
I really like that "close- combat magic " in Risen3.
Risen 3 is great in terms of creatures, beautiful environments and it has a great magic system, almost like Gothic 3's magic system, but with modern mechanics.
Risen 1 and Gothic 3 are my all time favorites :D
It's great how much I agree with you, even with that "subjective parts" (esp. about G3 which... is also at my absolute top 3 of all games - with Morrowind and Warcraft 3... all threes xd) EXCEPT a little BUT about Risen 2, which I would put one tier higher, due to the atmosphere it had, still had that "magical piranhaness"(?) in it.
Exactly, the magic was fantastic. That's what kept me going in the game, the atmosphere!! Also I didn't mind the switch of themes, I liked the Pirate style!
Setting is really important. I really liked the Gothic series setting and I also enjoyed Pirate theme of Risen. The deal breaker for me was the Elex setting. To the point I actually have to sit out and wait until they finish the trilogy to maybe enjoy what they make after that.
This video is gold. I Will see in the weekend...with fast food xD
I finished Elex 2 a few days ago. I loved it. I just bought the first one and I hope it’s great also! Great video with a topic that’s hardly featured on other channels.
Elex 1 in melee combat is not so good.
Right? Who in mind though it was good idea to add stanima bar in Gothic games?
Well, its worse then gothic 2 and risen 1, but definitely better than Elex 2, where you just had to click a lot..@@dragandaniel8260
I revisited Risen 2 last year and it was way better than I remembered it
Its good, but its worst game from PB imo
Exactly how I would have done the tier list, impressive!
Great Tier List bro. I Love Elex games.
for me...
1. Gothic 2
2. Gothic
3. Risen 1
4. Gothic 3
5. Elex
6. Risen 3
7. Risen 2
Havent played Elex 2 till nowbut will of course
Hello mr CZcamsr, have you finished Chronicles of Myrtana? Which tier you think it deserves?
Nice video idea and a great video
Odličan si kao i uvek
hvala
Gothic is still one of the best series I have ever played. I hope I will always remember this part of my childhood.
There's less and less time to play now, but one day, when I retire, I hope to be able to show my grandchildren how their grandfather played in the 2007/2008 year (it was a few years after its release).
Funny how u talking about English Voice acting in Gothic 1/2. In Poland they did a amazing job with it, also it was one of the game that generaly had polish voice act, and it was awesome. I gues thats the reason why game is very popular at our country. This game inspired CD-Project (wich were distributor of Gothic at Poland) to create a Witcher, so i would say those games had Huge impact ^^
I see you have new big monitor, it would be nice if you tell me what you using, no model but size. thx
About medieval - fantasy settings,I have the same feeling, the most enjoyable way for me to play Elex1 was as Magic-Berserker,second most enjoyable was Bow kind - berserker.Though I played every fraction and almost in every way of fighting, and I enjoy the most bow/ magic berserker.
The best thing with Risen 2 was that if you go in playing it after hearing it's the worst, you will end up enjoying it because it's better than you expected. At least that happened to me.
I love pirana bytes games, especially elex, I really hope they make more elex games, probably a trilogy.
Every time i remember jetpack in Elex i want to replay it. But then i remember combat in Elex and i change my mind.
I lean towards buying gothic 3 is it more fluent in combat or is it worse than gothic 2? how about the controls? I could not play gothic 2 due to is not natural for me the controls scheme. Is gothic 3 improved or same?
There's actually a demo of the game, which you could try, but of course it hasn't been patched by the community ;) Combat is basically spamming the left (or rather right) mousebutton. Unless you activate die alternative AI from the community patch, which makes it quite challenging because enemies will block a lot. Control scheme is more modern than Gothic 1 & 2 and feel good, but the combat system is very basic compared to the older games. The real star is the huge world and abundance of quests.
Agree for the most part and adding Chronicles of Myrtana as S of course, what amazing work done on that one.
I was about to say that aswell!
I'm currently playing through Chronicles of myrtana, and so far it's amazing, I don't speak polish but I got the polish voice over and it's still such an amazing game! S tier game for sure!
I‘m a big fan since Gothic 1 and I must tell, that Risen 2 was for me a good game and for sure not the worst of PB. Risen 3 is the only one I can’t remember emotionally and I played all of them few times.
I felt the same way about Risen 2 when I first played it. It was so jarring coming from Risen 1, but I played it again many years later, without playing the first one right before it, and that made it more tolerable. I actually had a lot of fun with it the second time.
My rankings would be like this:
S: Gothic 2
A: Gothic 1
B: Risen 1
C: Gothic 3
D: Elex 2, Elex 1
F: Risen 3, RIsen 2
I think the most difficult way for ranking Gothic 1 and 2 is because personally i think thematically first game is vastly superior. 2nd game is just better overall.
The others... tbh we are being overly polite ranking them that high. At the end of the day, Gothic 1 was released in 2001 and Gothic 2 was released in 2002. It has been 20 years and they still haven't made combat feel any less wooden? Risen 1 was the smoothest game of them all and it was released over a decade ago.
What a disgrace.
would like to see your top 10, 15, 20, 25 or whatever of your favorite games of all time or favorite rpgs etc
Damn even your thoughts about Elex I couldn't agree more. It's exactly how I feel about it.
damn, thats some nice gains
*RISEN 1 LOVERS UNITE!*
I Love RISEN so much that even hearing the music makes me happy
Funny that Elden Ring world reminded me of Gothic 3 world - those were the closest "world" experiences. Map was not crowded with markers and you need to discover everything by yourself. That is exactly how I felt in ER and G3.
I completely agree. There are definitely some similarities when it comes to world design.
They also had the back to back release for fallout 1 and 2
Fascinating. As a North American player that started with Gothic back when it came out (something that was nearly impossible to do in North America when the game was first released), I'm in a similar boat to yourself. I too have strong positive feelings for Gothic 3. I think your ranking is fairly well thought out. Having played all the games over the years, I have similar feelings. Going in, I thought to myself, "As long as he puts Gothic 1 and 2 at S tier" and nothing else in there with them, it's fine" and wasn't disappointed. Overall, I feel like things have steadily gotten worse over time, which is troubling. They're a small studio but they appear to be learning the wrong things with each game and incorrectly "improving" their newer games as time goes on. I would have placed the Elex games much lower but maybe this has to do with the North American version. The English translation feels like somebody took the German script, passed it through Google Translate, then passed it on to the voice actors without any coaching or context. It barely makes any sense.
12:28 that's exactly how I feel about Risen 2!
I am in opposite to you in case of that mix - I was surorised how good it came out, really for every fraction there is/was a good reason / good explanation for their behavior, pattern of action.
You are so right about elex 1. I replay gothic, gothic 2 and risen 1 all the time, but after i finished elex 2 a few times i played elex 1 again and i couldn't play it, felt like a bad demo for elex 2. And i loved the first game!
I remember picking up Risen 1 and being really frustrated by the combat, so I returned it and didnt touch another PB game since. Untill last week, when I picked up Elex... and holy shit man, this is now my favorite third person RPG in the Bethesda mold ever (S rank here), Elex II is next on my list, but now I'm thinking I should give Risen 3 a shot after that. I've been playing video games since the beginning of PC gaming in the early 80's, and this game has absolutely blown me away. I actually keep thinking that it feels like Fallout, Skyrim and Dark Souls mixed together.
I totally agree with this PB games ranking, except for Elex 1 and 2 but only because i haven't played it both
Elex 1 was my first game of Piranha Bytes I play on ps4 first few hours I actually quit and uninstalled but the setting and story had me so intrigued I looked up advice for combat and gave it another try and fell in love with it. Once done I looked up Piranha Bytes and while I haven't beaten all the games I have since bought all of them on steam. One of things to I love about there games is unlimited inventory space as im always a hoarder in RPGs
In the OG language German the voice acting is one of the iconic ones, to this day
In Poland Gothic has cult among it :D Probably because of PL voice acting, it's great and has well-known actors in it.
Yeah I was confused when I started Rosen 2. I was wondering where the hell we were, what happened to the Titans, weren’t we going to the mainland?
I haven't played any of these games except Elex, well I am still playing it and I'm enjoying it
While Daggerfall was mostly randomly generated, it did do NPC schedules, day night cycles, and weather and such years before even Gothic. Arena did everything except for schedules I believe? Or maybe it did?
I honestly thought elex 2s story was much worse than the first game.
SPOILER
In my playthrought dex went to the clerics when he left the 6th, but him just becoming a super genius at the end out of basically nowhere was really dumb to me. I mean he is like 8 yrs old and he just got a super deep understanding of intergalatic computer systems in like a week. It made his death scene less effective to me. In my opinion in some way jax should have sacrificed himself to defeat the skyands so we could play as dex in the 3rd game instead of coming up with another poorly thought out excuse to why we start out weak in elex 3.
When you go see adam for the last time he explains how he tried to change the course of commet, but was unsucessful. However in the next dialouge option Jax calls him a mass murderer and Adam says that bring elex to magalan was a nesissary sacrifice for his pusuit of eternal life. This just didn’t make sense to me.
All that and the terrible quests at the end just left a bad taste in my mouth. Like the big battle in the first game was so much more engaging that in the second. They should have done more stuff like that instead of having you kill everything by yourself
Love the channel btw
The same for me. The exploration was fun for a bit, but story, sound design and rushed chapters at the end make this worse than Risen 2 or 3 and even Elex 1.
@@revoltingpeasantry8796 I could only agree with that. Elex 2 is a rushed half baked game with bad story, bad sound track & music and bad NPCs. Elex 1 is more fun
Add an E tier, you get the extra tier to put Elex II above Elex I and below Risen
A huge respect to you for sticking to your love to Gothic 3. Its a fantastic game, and although I disagree that it's the best, I can see what you love about it.
But, for me, nothing beats the immersion that first 2 Gothic games brought. it's a cliche at this point, but I truly live in those games, even now. New Vegas, Gothic 1 and 2, and to a lesser degree fallout 2 and Risen 1, these are the most immersive games I played, and Gothic 1 and 2 are the games with absolutely perfect game design to me. No negatives whatsoever. They are godlike, sublime.
Elex 2 needs some technical polish for performance and audio balancing (especially on surround sound setups) but I do like it quite a bit. The start of the game does feel very barren though, whereas in Elex 1 at the start you had an idea of where to go for factions, Elex 2 kind of streamlines you at the start while making things feel confusing. The quality of life improvements and the extra gear you can get already makes the sequel feel nicer to play, need to get more hours into it
When the review of Chronicles od Myrtana my friend?
Gothic 3 was a such a disaster on release, I remember being so disappointed. Today with the community patches there are only a few problems: some of the minor quests are meh and the melee combat is still very clunky. It's amazing how it went through such a transformation from a complete letdown to one of my favorite games.
I also had a very negative first experience with Elex 2, mostly due to the camera issues. But now with the static camera mod I'm starting to get into it. Maybe I'm just not cut out to play PB games when they first release.
I'd still probably put Elex 2 below Elex and above Risen 3 though. Other than that I think we have the same rankings.
Where is the guru?
I have a soft spot for the combat in G3. I just find the stab and strong hit so much fun and the reaction of a humanoid enemy to a stab is still funny to me for some reason.
Gothic 2 is the all time favourite, but I really love Risen 2 and Risen 3 as well 🎉
Yes. Gothic 3 is indeed a great game. I love it too. Good to hear it from you and people in the comments as well.
i am also a gothic 3 enjoyer, i think its also one of my favorites of their games ever, for me its gothic 2 and 3 are both S++ and tied for my favorite two
And Finally Elex2 - I can't say anything because I did not play it yet.Bjt I really like that they finally kinda fix the jetpack.
Are the games connected somehow?
Yeah, the final list with Gothic 3 on top is the good one. Good video, I always enjoy listening to you. Regards!
The first game I tried was Risen 2, and the only reason I gave it a try was pirates and guns!
If archolos were an official pb game, what rank would it be? im curious.
Agree on all of them except the newest one. I guess you could say it is to me what Risen 2 was for you.
didnt you fight a small vacuum robot at the end of elex 1 ? cant remember that fight
Thank you for this video!! I believe Arcania is from another company that's why it was not on the list.
Gothic 2 > Gothic 3 > Gothic > Risen 1 > everything else
Your biceps: A tier 😌👌
Ultima VI had a day night and life cycle too
I loved risen 1, 2 AND 3! They were so janky but fun as hell.
Nice tatoos, great video! :)
I've only played Gothic 3 and Risen 1 so far but they are already the best rpgs I've played. Followed right behind from Oblivion and ESO and I'm trying Morrowind atm. But im also very motivated trying the other parts of Gothic and then Elex. But the setting of Elex and also from Risen 2 are not quite my taste that's why I haven't played them so far. Gothic 3 is my all-time favorite.
Oh I couldn't agree more with you about Risen 2. And about Gothic 3. I also think that Risen 1 was the technically best Game they made. But personally I had most fun with Gothic 3. So I guess we see it very similarly.
Risen 2 is a masterpiece. You have to play it. It gets really good with good dlcs
I have not played any of the Gothic games, but I agree with your rankings in general. I loved Risen 1 and definitely consider it an A or S tier game. Risen 2 was my least favorite because of the lack of really good magic and the strong pirate theme and I agree it deserves D tier. Risen 3 being C tier works and I could put it in the B tier. Elex 1 and 2 are both B or low A tier for me, but I am still early in Elex II so I too have difficulty judging it right now.
i liked the pirate theme of risen 2 but couldnt get into elex because of its mixed setting
Risen 1 is on my top 10 favorite games of all time maybe even top 5.
I finally getting to play Elex 2 for longer and I must say it has strong Gothic vibes and after 10h i really like it! The UI and backpack is really bad and some sounds are not the best, but beside that its solid and I like it!
NO SIR.....Ultima 9 Ascension was the first truly open world in 3d, with absolutely no loading in the game world. I do agree with you on your Gothic 3 assessment. It is an incredibly immersive game. I fell in absolute obssessive love with this game th minute it came out. The soundtrack is a musical masterpiece....and to play this thing now it still feels incredible and impressive on so many fronts.
The music alone makes gothic 3 an S-tier game
