Family daycare is cheaper than regular childcare so explore that. Extra curricular activities cost quite a bit. We pay $180/month for our eldest's martial arts.
This leaves me with one question. How are people is Australia still alive. A family of 4 is costing more than the average earnings of the two parents combined

I'll try to see how can I fix that. In the meantime, I highly recommend checking out Facebook Marketplace for buying appliances. Usually they are second hand and much cheaper and excellent quality (all my appliances got them from there and still working well after years! - make sure to ask the seller for the warranty papers). For new items, have a look at Harvey Norman but a bit more $$

you won't get a studio or 1 bed room apartment for $300 in Sydney or Melbourne these days, you are looking at $400+ per week

Try to find some company that will sponsor you and you can easily move to Australia directly through work visa
