    I love the mutual respect between those two. You can see it in the eyes of Pogacar when he looks at how deep MvdP goes for his jersey

    Its kinda weird that a mountain climber like pogacar can put those Watts with no fluke, after last year. I hope we dont have to read in a few years that he was into some kind of doping.

    • @ThisIsANameBruh
      @ThisIsANameBruh Před 2 lety

      but this is why GC riders are special. They can put out more watts than any other rider relative to their body weight. So say Pogacar does 6.5 watts/kg but MvDP can "only" do 6 for the same time. Well, Pogacar is more aerodynamic being smaller sized *and* he's heavy enough that this 6.5 multiplied by his weight gives a big watt number which matters in time trials and can match the output of a bigger rider like MvDP even though the latter is much heavier.
      Incidentally this is the reason you don't see 60 kilogram GC men anymore. They get smoked in the time trials because they just don't have the superior power ouput that a 65 kilo person like Roglic or Pogacar has.

      On such a tight corner you obviously should take the wide line to keep as much momentum as possible, otherwise he wouldve had to break before and accelerate again after the corner
