Marriage is a partnership. For years, my husband and I both worked outside the home. I cooked, he cleaned up. We shared household duties. Today he’s retired and I still work long hours. SAHMs "deal with work" 24/7. Taking care of the kids, including one with medical issues, the house, and home schooling is ALOT of work, as well as vlogging.
@@su-rv2uq Yes. It is work but not having to go out and deal with work and be the breadwinner who keeps the roof over your head is very different. All the stress of survival and keeping a roof is on the person who has to work. The pressure of work is unbelievable.
I love your Shabbos prep videos because they bring back memories of when I worked in the Chabad Tallahassee kitchen and prepared Friday night dinner for 50-60 college students and some community members. Now they average 200-250 students every Shabbos and more for holidays. Some weeks I took photos of the huge amount of challah dough and posted on Facebook. I did the rolling, kneading and braiding on a wooden surface that I found was much better than a smooth (like granite) surface. I used to love kneading the dough because it was a really good way to work out the stress of the week. Several years ago, I got a bread machine that does the kneading for me so I miss that. I think it’s awesome how you and your husband work together in the home. Every couple knows best what works for them and I can see you guys have a great system working there in your home. I've missed you lovely lady. I've been in the hospital a crazy amount. I have heart failure as well.. My heart was at 20%, now its at 40%. My kidneys are at about 30%. I have a happy life otherwise. We have Celebrated 40 years. I'm just getting into sourdough too! We are moving to our property in Tennessee this next weekend. We'll to a hotel as our renters cannot get another rental. They are old friends and great renters so my husband is buying them a house to rent from us. 😊 I love him so much. God bless you and yours. Love, jenwhite

Loved watching you with the sour dough bread. I used to bake bread for my growing family. Shabbos with a house full is assists fun. Now that my kids are ask grown, I don't get that much anymore. I still love cooking for company, it's always nice to bring in Shabbos with others.
Three-bean salad...wax beans, whole green beans, dark red kidney beans, chopped bell pepper, chopped sweet onion, and vinegar, vegetable oil, sugar, salt and pepper. There are four-bean varieties, too, with the addition of chick peas. Black-eyed pea salad, AKA Texas caviar, served with tortilla chips or pita chips. Both of these use canned beans (rinsed) and fresh veggies. Easy to throw together and park in the refrigerator. Love your videos❤ Hope you had a great Shabbat and fun hosting new families.

You do a good job of all those things and I am thrilled that you have the opportunity to take pride in those accomplishments. Everybody can just get over themselves about your husband not doing the clean up. He is cooking which is very nice. I often wonder about women who complain, moan, and groan about ‘fairness blah blah blah. It really always strikes me as jealousy. You all are doing just fine
One of my favorite side dishes is oven-roasted broccoli and cauliflower with a lemon-butter-mustard sauce. Of course, you could use olive oil or a non-dairy butter substitute. Roast the veggies in the oven on a sheet pan for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the butter, add the juice of half a lemon and wholegrain mustard to taste. Season with some salt and pepper. Pour the sauce over the veggies and roast another 5-10 minutes. This is a great dish for diabetics, too. It's one of my favorite holiday sides, since the sauce cuts through the richness of the rest of the food. This would also work with green beans, asparagus, or any veggie your family likes. Two tips for your sourdough. I usually wet my table instead of sprinkling it with four, and I keep my hands damp. It helps to not make the dough stick. Secondo tip, put the rounded side of the dough in the basket. That’s where you developed the surface tension and it should be the side facing up when you bake it 😘

We're finishing up school. As we get done with each subject they've fallen off. We have a few LA and Math lessons left & then summer starts. We haven't been outside bc of the cicadas. They're so loud. Then a weekend of severe weather that thankfully missed us last night bc it was rough for those it didn't miss.
When my daughter was a toddler I used to fill the sink with warm soapy water, dump all my plastic utensils into the water, stand her up on a step stool, and get 30 minutes of quiet time LOL - this reminded me of that!

Cleaned my kitchen with you today! I use covered corningware stoneware dishes, I have a set of rounds and a set of ovals and use the largest of each to make bread. Two in the oven at once. They sometimes touch the lid but the bread looks and tastes good.

To inspire me with new recipes, I like to look back at my ancestors and see dishes they might have cooked either through time period based cooking, or looking at dishes from the countries they were from. Or choosing a different American state each month and looking at their well known recipes as a way to explore the complex culinary history of my country!
Marriage is absolutely a partnership! My husband does the dishes every night no matter who cooks. I am very appreciative of that, and I’ve never asked him to do that. However, he is not allowed to cut the grass. He mows everything, and I have wild flowers and other plants commonly thought of as weeds that I love. About the tent. Check out Clams. I think what I always enjoy most is Baby Firefly laughing and giggling and the bit where he’s playing in the sink!?!? Just so cute, he makes my smile and laugh too. Hey Chana. I am also making sourdough here. As for scoring the loaf, it takes practice. I know this because I am terrible at it. I make sourdough a couple times a month. My Neighbor Michael, loves sourdough and I send loaves to him. Sadly his brain cancer has come back and sourdough is the only thing he can keep down during his treatments.
Still having storms in the area, and it looks as if the whole week is a 50% chance of rain every day. I'm in Irving. I do so enjoy your videos, especially the chats where you play catch-up with us.
What about a macaroni salad? It has noodles with olive oil that you top salads with, olives- green, black, etc, chopped bell peppers, banana peppers and other italian type antipasto, Another way to make it is with mayo in plac of olive oil and i drain the antipasto items don't bring bring any brinning liquid into the macaroni salad. To the second type, you can also add a squirt of mustard, season to your taste, Southern Potato salad, basic= boiled potatoes, boiled eggs, mayo, sqirt of mustard and drained sweet relish. There are many ways to make potato salad.anywhere from the basic to loaded chopped onion, red, orange and green bell peppers, chopped celery, banana peppers, chopped olives (drain) and whatever else you would like. These are couple of salads we have at meals, seafood boils, bbqs, and they are easy to change up. Have a great week.
A side dish suggestion is from the Perfect for Pesach cookbook. The bottom layer is vegetarian kishke (potato, carrot, onion, and a few other things), and the top is a broccoli souffle. It's a few steps but is very tasty. It also freezes well.
The black dress & hair covering are stunning on you! I make a Dutch over crusty cranberry & walnut bread for people at holidays ( I normally don’t eat carbs) & found it browns without taking off the lid. You might save time by skipping that step or at least cutting it in half. Love your designs.
Some of my go-to Shabbat side dishes: *Ratatouille *Zuchinni stuffed with mixture of chopped mushrooms, spices and egg *Roasted brocolli *cold pasta with sauteed onions and red pepper, pine nuts and sesame oil *roasted carrots with maple syrup glaze *carrot tzimmes *use leftover challah to make challah kugel, sweet or savory. Mine is pieces of challah, soaked in your liquid of choice and then squuezed ou; eggs; canola oil; chopped onions and mushrooms; salt and pepper. Mix, put into a greased pan, bake at 350. *For dairy meals, mix grape tomatoes with baby mozzarella, chopped basil leaves, and balsamic vinegar. *For dairy meals, mashed potatoes

Honestly, the fact that you have a set menu for Shabbat is nice. We would have fried chicken, mashed potatoes and veggies every Sunday. That's the only day we got fried chicken. It was tradition. (I can't say or write that line without thinking of Fiddler on the Roof! LOL) Anyway, it hope your large gathering on Saturday went well and you had tons of fun. Two tips for your sourdough. I usually wet my table instead of sprinkling it with four, and I keep my hands damp. It helps to not make the dough stick. Secondo tip, put the rounded side of the dough in the basket. That’s where you developed the surface tension and it should be the side facing up when you bake it 😘

We're finishing up school. As we get done with each subject they've fallen off. We have a few LA and Math lessons left & then summer starts. We haven't been outside bc of the cicadas. They're so loud. Then a weekend of severe weather that thankfully missed us last night bc it was rough for those it didn't miss.

When my daughter was a toddler I used to fill the sink with warm soapy water, dump all my plastic utensils into the water, stand her up on a step stool, and get 30 minutes of quiet time LOL - this reminded me of that!

Cleaned my kitchen with you today! I use covered corningware stoneware dishes, I have a set of rounds and a set of ovals and use the largest of each to make bread. Two in the oven at once. They sometimes touch the lid but the bread looks and tastes good.

Lovely video as always! To inspire me with new recipes, I like to look back at my ancestors and see dishes they might have cooked either through time period based cooking, or looking at dishes from the countries they were from. Or choosing a different American state each month and looking at their well known recipes as a way to explore the complex culinary history of my country!

Marriage is absolutely a partnership! My husband does the dishes every night no matter who cooks. I am very appreciative of that, and I’ve never asked him to do that. However, he is not allowed to cut the grass. He mows everything, and I have wild flowers and other plants commonly thought of as weeds that I love. About the tent. Check out Clams. They are inexpensive, easy to put up, and quite large. The bread is beautiful. That black scarf you had on make your eyes stand out. Very lovely. Have a great week!

I’m late getting to your video this week but it was worth the wait, I so enjoyed it. I think what I always enjoy most is Baby Firefly laughing and giggling and the bit where he’s playing in the sink!?!? Just so cute, he makes my smile and laugh too. The bread you made looks delicious and well done you spending so long baking it all for your guests. Hey Chana. I am also making sourdough here. As for scoring the loaf, it takes practice. I know this because I am terrible at it. I make sourdough a couple times a month. My Neighbor Michael, loves sourdough and I send loaves to him. Sadly his brain cancer has come back and sourdough is the only thing he can keep down during his treatments.

What about a macaroni salad? It has noodles with olive oil that you top salads with, olives- green, black, etc, chopped bell peppers, banana peppers and other italian type antipasto, Another way to make it is with mayo in plac of olive oil and i drain the antipasto items don't bring bring any brinning liquid into the macaroni salad. To the second type, you can also add a squirt of mustard, season to your taste,
Southern Potato salad, basic= boiled potatoes, boiled eggs, mayo, sqirt of mustard and drained sweet relish. There are many ways to make potato salad.anywhere from the basic to loaded chopped onion, red, orange and green bell peppers, chopped celery, banana peppers, chopped olives (drain) and whatever else you would like.
These are couple of salads we have at meals, seafood boils, bbqs, and they are easy to change up. Have a great week.

A side dish suggestion is from the Perfect for Pesach cookbook. The bottom layer is vegetarian kishke (potato, carrot, onion, and a few other things), and the top is a broccoli souffle. It's a few steps but is very tasty. It also freezes well.

The black dress & hair covering are stunning on you! I make a Dutch over crusty cranberry & walnut bread for people at holidays ( I normally don’t eat carbs) & found it browns without taking off the lid. You might save time by skipping that step or at least cutting it in half. Love your designs.

Some of my go-to Shabbat side dishes:
*Ratatouille
*Zuchinni stuffed with mixture of chopped mushrooms, spices and egg
*Roasted brocolli
*cold pasta with sauteed onions and red pepper, pine nuts and sesame oil
*roasted carrots with maple syrup glaze
*carrot tzimmes
*use leftover challah to make challah kugel, sweet or savory. Mine is pieces of challah, soaked in your liquid of choice and then squuezed ou; eggs; canola oil; chopped onions and mushrooms; salt and pepper. Mix, put into a greased pan, bake at 350.
*For dairy meals, mix grape tomatoes with baby mozzarella, chopped basil leaves, and balsamic vinegar.
*For dairy meals, mashed potatoes

Hi, Hanna! I'm always amazed at how much you get done in your day. The sour dough bread looks so delicious! Your house must smell incredible after all the cooking every Friday. Honestly, the fact that you have a set menu for Shabbat is nice. We would have fried chicken, mashed potatoes and veggies every Sunday. That's the only day we got fried chicken. It was tradition. (I can't say or write that line without thinking of Fiddler on the Roof! LOL) Anyway, it hope your large gathering on Saturday went well and you had tons of fun. I miss hearing about what dessert you may have made. I'm all about the dessert! LOL Have a wonderful week 💚

I listened to you go on about a tent and thought to myself " I can handle someone in massive organ failure or coding without breaking into a sweat yet just the thought of being outdoors in a tent...with 4 kiddos, makes it hard for me to breathe. lol As far as household chore division comments go never pay any mind to those attempting to correct your set up.
