I was there. Tremendous surprise to hear this song at the end of a great show. While waiting for U2 tickets to go on sale for the Unforgettable Fire tour in the south Hills of Pittsburgh in 1984 a young girl was killed in a tragic accident. Bono dedicated Bad to her memory that night. Special song, special city.
This is one of the best versions of Bad I’ve ever seen. And I’m not solely talking about re-creating the way they perform it at Live Aid. His vocal on this is fantastic. Typically buy the ends of tours his voice is shot. But here is strong. I saw him a couple nights before in Philly. And I got the feeling he was holding back a bit. It was still great. But this was like something I’ve seen from him since the 90s. Especially the WIIIIIIIIIDE AWAKE @ 5:59
I've been to countless shows and this one was the first time they finally did an impromptu performance. So glad it was BAD! Last show of the North American leg. Unforgettable!!!!
So awesome, great filming. I love the end of a show just for a moment... When all four of them come together to say goodnight, I think it's really sweet :) and how you can tell they really love what they do. Best band ever, best group of guys ever.
It's so awesome to relive this night- a night not to forget, for sure!!! I have seen this video before, but I am so excited to see the rest. Thank you so much!!!
Thank U Paper Doll Was there to help one of the best live recordings ever we kick ass Thank U2 for making it Happen Love U guys Great Job by Everyone Butch
Stop it. That’s ridiculous. I like his voice now as well. He’s definitely come through a lot of his vocal issues that was really bad in the early 00s. So I’m not hating on him at all. But to say that he’s a better singer now than he was during zooTV is just absurd. It’s not even close. That version of Bono is only behind Freddie Mercury as the greatest rock vocalist ever.
I understand that. And his voice here sounds fantastic. But compared to his voice from latter parts of Joshua Tree through ZooTV and early Pop(which was when his vocal issues began with the ruptured polyps in his throat which went undiagnosed for a full year on tour before he had the surgery.. which is also why his voice was so bad on the Elevation tour), its not even on the same planet. I would put his vocal on the entire ZooTV tour up against any vocalist in the history a rock not named Freddie Mercury.
Best band ever. I saw 20 U2 360 shows. Great video. Watching this video reminds me why U2 360 was the best U2 tour ever. I have seen U2 tour since 1984. No band comes close to U2 live. 2014 will be the next tour - I can not wait.
I just checked it like... many times and I would definitely say yes. Wow, that's amazing, wish he sang Pride in the original key at least once! And the very beginning and the end are simply adorable! Great love and respect for U2!
@@adamatincul2618 same here, i reckon with some dedication he could still do it once or twice, but the 360 tour was the return of his high range but it was gone again once they started the innocence/experience tour, new years day was a struggle by 2015 which theyve lowered the key of since the 2017 joshua tree tour. i wish they only lowered bonos vocals cause their songs loses a lot of their power with the instruments lowering the key to match him 😪
@@CodyBridge Yeah, I agree. Their music has it's power in the original key. 80's and untill '95 were the years of blast for U2 and Bono's voice. But the last concerts in 2019 he sang amazingly. Never seen them live, just hope they will tour again.

Wow! Great stuff!
lou reeds walk on the wild side has always been great in this like the stones ruby Tuesday or even Norwegian wood
the PEAK of Bono's voice without question. Better than now, better than in the 90s, 80s. More pitch, more power, more everything.
