+Krzysztof Koscianski Thanks a lot.
Aleeeeee! This is so beautiful and important for drummers to hear where the drum began and how it continues to be played communally. Tosin, your drumming is wonderful to hear and I love watching you play African drum beats and rhythms on your kit. Please come to Phoenix Arizona and play or give a clinic on playing African rhythms /beats on a drum kit. I
am a percussionist (Djembe, Clay Darbuga, Mbira, Moroccan clay small head and large head Drum, Bongos, Nepalese Double-headed Tar Wooden Drum, Gourd drum, Doumbek, etc.) And the Drum kit. I've been teaching myself African Highlife, 1950's African Jazz , Fela Kuti, Afro-Pop music as well as playing along to your music. I can't find anyone where I live who can help unfortunately. Do you have an instructional DVD on how to play African Beats on the Drum kit? Or can you recommend anyone? I've got Royal Hartigan's book but I don't know how to read drum kit orchestration that well. Which of your C.D.'s would you recommend for me to buy that may help? Thanks for all of your videos ~🌟
Hi Eleni
Thanks for watching. You can check out my Drum Monologue CD titled "Mean What U Say" on CD Baby. I hope to make it to Phoenix for Drum Masterclass soon. My new album titled Afrika Rising is also dropping on June 22. Stay tuned. www.tosinbeats.com for more info. Cheers
