problem with too many races at the festival filling 4 days. I think a better analogy is the Olympics having a 150m race and 100m and 200m runners not deciding till a few days out which ones they're running.
My best horse to never win at the Cheltenham Festival Pendil . I was there both times he got beaten in the gold cup..about 6 lengths clear jumping the last,and The Dickler nailed him.The following year he was travelling strongly and got brought down 3 fences from home..or it might have been the second last.becuse in those days there was only the last fence in the straight.

May as well do a Yankee for less money. It’s a disgrace if Lossiemouth now runs in the CH as Mullins quoted ‘ we go to win the race that suits the horse, no chance in CH but a certain in mares race. More of a comedy show than a serious punting one.

It's the media / bookies who are putting these horse's up and not the trainers.
