Funny he complains about this tank but says nothing about the E-25, or the current batch of autoloaders which can relieve you of 1000 hitpoints in a few seconds, I gave up when I spent the whole game without a single pen, every shot at me was APCR, you are playing in a game with old tanks, against new op tanks, totally one sided.
For me, the most disgusting tank in WoT is the 105 LEFH18B2 - an arty which reloads faster than many other MT/HT/TD. And with another arty, god forbid - 2 more, and another LEFH (and the absolute nightmare scenario of 3x LEFH...), they can perma track/modules damage you to death in a short time - from across the map when no one can even see them...
I'm not sure how it is now - stopped playing WoT for good about 2ish years ago - but for the longest time a silly amount of lower tier matches could be decided by who had an LeFH18B2/the most LeFH18B2s on their team. They were absolutely on my priority target list, alongside T67s and, a few tiers previous, Pz. I Cs. Sometimes even sacrificing yourself just to get rid of certain tanks was the lesser evil.
Nope they can´t, they have a reach on most maps of only about 2/3s of the map and need to move forward to hit the other side. A M44 or a GW Panther can easily reach the other side of the map when sitting on the very back of their side but a LeFH18B2 can´t do that.
Imo, the lefh is just tier V version of the FV304.
It isnt particularly OP, but it is hella annoying to deal with.
LEFH was only op back when arty could platoon these days its annoying but not overly dangerous though its view range is still disgusting

Arty can still platoon these days, and even when they don't, if you are the first one being spotted or just unlucky they all decided to focus fire on you, you can expect rain of fire on you to perma tracked/stunned/module damaged, & then sit there wait for your death. But with leFH's high rate of fire, it just takes 2 or even 1 (if you repair kit already on cooldown) to have the same result.

He should have sat in the cap until the last few seconds before killing the BT. That way he could have had Invader, too! The only thing wrong with the FCM36PAK40 is that it's a German vehicle (built on a French chassis), but it's considered French.

Aren't most Fadin medals rigged? I don't think there are many legit ones out there.

I have 2. One in this tank, and one in a Su-26 arty. Both not rigged. I almost got back to back fadin's in the Fcm. I then got talking to another player about running out of ammo a lot and missing out on a lot of damage due to having to conserve ammo. He said he never does. I then realized I had played it for a long time without updating the ammo loadout after the low tier hit point buffs lol.
Wasting 1 or 2 shells for it can be "forgiven"...wasting half ur ammo is rather ridicolous...

Back in the day when I just ran around in the Panzer IC I would try to hunt these things down by popping out of nowhere and rain 7.92 on it’s upper structure. It wasn’t godly hard to do either because of how bad the gun arc is on the FCM, as long as you don’t aim at the hull

The lefh is the scourge of the lower tiers, and it's largely run by try hard stat padders looking to club seals.
It's really disgusting to see how some game the system. Personally, after a certain amount of games, I'd make tier 5 and below off limits to players. You can grind a new line, but once it's elited you can't take the tank out anymore. Give refunds for any premium tanks, or give good exchange rates to trade them for tier 6+ prems
That was the last straw. The bourrasque and T100 were big factors too .
LeFH isnt that bad most of the time it is also pretty inaccurate but if it catches you on track most ppl dont have repair crews on that tier yet so that is a truly disgusting experience. But then again you have to be hit in succession for another maybe 10 times to be put out of your misery if you are a heavy tank and it has no splash radius whatsoever for near misses to still impact the tracks. The worst (broken) aspect about LeFH is certainly the view range which is likely the source of them carrying much more of their games than an artillery piece should be able to.
I consider vehicles like this FCM to be far worse because they aren't so extremely dependant on RNG while still maintaining insane stats in certain departments that have fallen out of time.
I got this tank a long time ago, when i started playing, because it wasn't expensive. I stopped playing it because 1) when i got to the sow40 TD, i wasn't interested in the French TD line anymore, and 2) it trolls me SOOO much, ungh. And damnably slow. So it's a museum piece, now.

Actually, that'd be kinda cool, if we had a virtual museum in-game, where we could stick our unused tanks, and they stay out of the tank list...

I have tons of museum pieces. Sad they collect dust. Many are too low a tier for me to bother. If I could still 'fail toon' with them just a little then I might play them. I miss running my tier 3 locust at tier 8+ It was super fun and being a light I could still scout so it wasn't throwing... unlike the old tier x loltraktor platoons. XD

That’s actually pretty low wr% for a tank that good especially considering low tier noobs/bots. But whatever it’s a pretty hard game not everyone can be a super good player. And you wouldn’t wanna be a try hard in this game anyway. Just derive what little joy you still can before you can. (Like when crew2.0 drops )

What? The entire aiming circle was on the tank, so it couldn't have possibly missed. As for bouncing, the APCR ammo has 126mm of pen and the bt7 art has 20mm of hull armor

I had this back in the day, and could still recover it. Mostly I don't because anything tier 4 or below is such a mess to find matches, etc, that I don't find myself going there much.
I've only ever had one opportunity for a Fadin's medal and it was in an arty. Had I not taken out the last enemy with my second to last shot I wouldn't have had time to reload though. 🙃

Deathstar was nerfed BEFORE being made 'special' as it was the Foch 155. Yeah, that 270 mm pen HESH round could surprise you in a very explosive way.
Deathstar isn't a premium tank. Yes it has the gold icon in the garage, but it's a reward vehicle, not a premium. Premium tanks make extra credits. WG will nerf reward tanks as no one spent money on them. Type 59 and the Super Pershing both got nerfed many years ago, WG met such an outrage that they swore off of nerfing premium tanks ever again.
@@stopher2385 I'd even make the argument that the Super Pershing didn't need it. They only nerfed it because it deceived noobs with its frontal spaced armor. The actual win rate according to them wasn't that much of an issue ...
And that's why I think them being cowards in that regard is unwarranted. People returned their tanks because they nerfed it into the ground and refused to take responsibility. If they had continued to balance them, the outage would have died down eventually.
I guess the returns hurt them so much financially back then that an executive decision was made back then. This probably saved them in the short run. And they not try to make up for the "no nerf" policy with power creeping.
That way they get the best of both worlds. Kids are not complaining and you still have to by new tanks every now and then if you want an OP tank ...

When I want to seal club at tier 3 after getting frustrated with matchmaking, I break out the locus.
Bought this tanks 6-7 years ago for about 5 euro. My first bought premium tank. There was a low tier map where both teams start on an Opposite hill and have to run down in the city. I got lots of scouts medals in this tank on that map 😀
This tank is actually buffed two- three times times in last year.
1; it got preff match making with all other tir 3 tanks. Therefore no more gold spending on kv1, kv220, Churchill. No more being oneshoted by 122 m derp gun.
2; HE round rebalance. It has like 40 mm HE penetration. In old days side armor shot meant tracking shot. Now means 50% better DPM because no tank in tir 3 or 4 have 40mm side armor.
3; spoting range rebalance.
4; no more low tir arty
I have this tank and my record DMG is 2300. But it was against tir 5 tanks so more HP to farm
@@KawaiianArgument what is wrong with you. the grosstractor has barely 2/3rd the dpm of the fcm and has terrible pen and accuracy. and a view range of only 330. as good as the grosstractor is it just does not compete with the fcm.

Many French tanks are beautiful; this vehicle arose from gerries putting paks on anything that moves. (my fav there is pak40 RSO)

I'm playing some low tier games to get Ace on every tank I've played and it's impossible to play 10 games in a row lower than tier 5 because of tanks like this : between OP prems like this FCM, the Pz II J, the Pz 38 H, the LeFH arty, the Pz S35 and Pz B2 and OP tech tree tanks like M2 Light or Pz I C, it's barely unplayable. Too much sealclubbers used these tanks, every game you have at least 2 or 3 of these things. I'm a good player and even with all my knowledge of the game mechanics, in a bad or just a normal tank, it's pretty hard to do something so how new players can have fun while playing ? WG does not care, they still sell toxic tank at every tier because money is more important than balancing the game.
Short answer : new players don't enjoy this bag of shit game.
Panzer II J in the right matchup is disgustingly OP, feel like I need to take a shower after playing mine😂
I wish it was good on console, it has reverse preference matchmaking where it is always bottom tier in tier 4, so it just ends up getting slaughtered by matildas
Pz 2 j is not as frightening as it was back in the days. Nowadays theres a lot of t3 tanks with powerful armaments that can reliably pen it.
I just love this old lady. I'm an old man with poor reactions, eyesight and arthritic fingers, and I meditate every day. So this sweetie lets me opt out of the arcade hysteria and really enjoy the quiet, the beautiful scenery and amazing graphics and the lovely view range. Reminds me of my wife before she died of Cancer a couple of years ago - incredibly fragile and physically vulnerable, but with a tongue on her that could melt steel ! FCM36Pak40 is an old Man's sweetheart and thankfully she keeps a corner open in this great game for the old and infirm to enjoy as well.
I love mine, had it since it first came out. I use my tier 10 crew in it now with 400+ view range...
I only bought it because it's a tank I didn't have from back in the day, and I like collecting cheaper, or more rare tier II and III vehicles

I think? That armoured car/light tank hybrid. Only tank I had an ace tanker in for a long time since I wasn't good at all in the game back then, Valentine II was my first premium, shortly followed by the Pz. T25. My first tier VIII tank as well as first tier VIII premium was the super-pershing.
This is the only tank I sold after buying for gold years ago. I don’t remember why, but I regret it.

I like playing mine, and it requires thought and planning because once you commit to a location, your to slow to change up.
Try the chirchill GC. It's a less seal clubby version of that challenge for you. :P
not really... you just point, shoot, hide, repeat... most simple and foolproof tank when the team is playing decent, and the enemy team starts making blunders.
It really is one of the easiest tanks to play in the whole of WoT
I think QB misses the point here that this game is there to be enjoyed. If that means that you do not want to get on the WG bandwagon of going through the tiers, spending loads of time and credits, then I say let the players play it and enjoy it. It's a game after all. I feel all he has done here has highlighted to the community that this tank is OP, so what do we think is going to happen, oh thats right, everyone will start getting their Paks out again and buying it when available. Don't criticise people for playing what they want in a game when it is obviously integral to it.

Yes, WoT nerved most TD's to death, i.e. StuG III G. They mostly have a good gun, that doesn't hit accurate anymore, but thank god, in exchange for that, they have no armor and reduced view range.
There are so many other OP-tanks like chieftain and 279e and surprise, nobody complains.
Yeah, honestly the accuracy changes were bad for the game. Used to be, brawling tanks got in to brawl not because the maps *forced* you, through narrow corridors, tall buildings, and huge rocks/clifffs- but because you couldn't shoot straight beyond 100m. The tanks like StuG with a bit more accuracy were the only ones who could conceivably land a shot at range. But WeeGee doesn't like concealment, so every map had to be changed into narrow pathways without bushes. Meanwhile, tanks that were meant for that niche are left by the wayside, and tanks designed for close quarters only get buffed.
Used to love the StuG Life. Was probably my first top gun and high caliber medals
I personally loved this playstyle in WoT. The hide and ambush style is what i'm good at. However for its tier this tank is impossible to engage if its secured a really good vantage point. The camo and view range is just too good.

Extremely fun tank, and also extremely frustrating. Also tier III premium tank is the smallest problem the game has currently.
This TD in a platoon where your buddy can push you in position and support you, is OP and fun.
It was one of my first premium tanks: together with T-127. I learned to play in this tank, in the old days when other TDs had also a good view range, and when tier 3 was fighting against tier 5 and had low HP of 200 or less. Now this tank is boring being so slow, and as you said - it is not ok to have so good view range.
Its crazy to me how they still regularly sell this and the LefH in the shop, but not the Pz38H Micro-Maus.
It's only good for open maps. In the city it's pants or if the enemy scouts spot it early it can't run away and hide. So it's quite balanced in that way. Tier 10 reward tanks are the tanks that shouldn't exist. With the best players playing them with their pimped out crews and bounty equipment such as bounty turbo. That is the true toxic part of the game isn't it quickybaby. Be real.
Back in day It face T5 tank like KV 1 Churchils and was preaty "balance".Marder III had very similar stats before nerf.
maybe it should not exist but at least this one has been build and put in service in opposition of so many in the game.
The real problem is the 75mm gun at tier III, nothing can stand it.

I haven't played for years but I checked my old stats out of interest, exactly 100 battles played in that thing with 72% wins.
Have that tank got me 4 skills for my foch, it was good buy back in old days, but hey there are others high tiers premium tanks that are op, i don't think anyone cares about tier 3, they skip em anyway with bps and exp converting.
I used it to build my Foch crews back when they split the B and 155.
For every one of these there's dozens of TDs overly handicapped. So to be fair there's only so much tier 3 you can play before you're tired of it (the dedicated seal clubbers not withstanding as I believe those folks to be mentally ill). So is this tank unbalanced? Yes. Is it a big deal? No, not really. This is a tempest in a teacup.
They did away with the old American t18 td just when I learned to use it.
It's still be nice if they actually did balance low tiers so players can enjoy early- and mid-war vehicles.
It is a big deal. It's discouraging for people trying to learn to be crushed by a POS like that, especially with the god awful 15 to 5 MM. When they run out of new people to replace the folks who are fed up, game over, literally.

nah, those aren't as toxic anymore since they got their HE pen nerfed drastically. What really is toxic is artillery, even after those so called nerfs done to them. Still way too op.
Wheeled vehicles are very over rated and they are not as op and broken as everybody keeps whining about
I don't mind it -- it's extremely situational, and if anyone had scouted the lake road in that game he would've been taken out very early on. Think of it as the Space Invaders tank -- you just sit and click. Sometimes such games can be a refreshing take on the hectic brawls we see becoming ever more prevalent with the ever increasing speed meta. And there are loads of OP Soviet tanks running around the electronic battlefield with artificially deflated soft stats that should be removed from the game, never mind a relatively obscure low tier French TD.
Most of the tier x reward tanks are game breaking with their gold spam (because they all do it).
Get the Chieftain and obj 279 into tier 11.
Or instead of masking a new tier for no reason, make it so they can only see tier 10
@@jk844100 they are not going to keep making tier 10 tanks that are balansed because the number of (paper) tanks is limited.
Start with tier 11 to..... as high as you want to go to keep the game "new", make it so that tier 11 can't meet tier 9 and they can continue with "modern" armor.
Now they drop new reward tanks in at tier 10 that can only really be taken down by other reward tanks.
Really nice for the majority of players that will never have a tank like that.

As much as tier 11+ seems logical I guarantee the player base will be up in arms about it because it just means more grinding.
That solves a lot of problems at tier x.
But the "best" players will block this, and wargaming will only listen to the gold spamming community.
My first 10-kill game was in the FCM. Mines. North cap. My team died early and the enemy came to the cap 1 at a time. Binocs (you could do that then) and camo net. What was funny was that on that map with 440+ spotting range, anything in line of sight was spotted. Which scared them and led to the "1-at-a-time" attack. Dirty, but fun.

Yup ! Old school TD with 400 meters base view range, maintaining most of it's camo while firing, at such low tiers, is quite the toxic bundle ... But it's not a LeFefe, Covfefe ;)
It's actually one of my favorite tanks. I use it to knock out the daily's because it's so OP.

563m view range is one thing..19% camo when firing (only E-25 has better) is another. Then add 1950 DPM and you have a pretty OP tank.

You play clan wars to prove who's the best, what does it prove when pro and good players use OP TANKS to role a stomp average or below average players? Nothing expect using it as a dick measuring contest, if wargaming truly cares for thier player base then pull the OP tanks and high skill players out of pubs and give them thier own game mode were they can compete with players of thier own skill level and give them a real challage, And leave regular pubs to the rest of us...
But they wont bc top players stats will start to level out or drop and God forbid that. Instead they allow those high players to make the game bitter for the rest of us. I would spend more money if the game felt fun again but bc they wont do the thing average player want to see changed then and just listen to the elites who cares about the little guy.
Hell they even admitted that the high skill players were seal clubbing at low tiers for stat padding they had to create a separation 500 or less MM for tiers 1-5 so that new players dont give up and leave the game. They know it's a problem and still dont do anything. Listen to the rest of us for once that's all we ask. Personal they fuck up the game when they changed HE round that no body asked for except a elite few top clans and CC and neither of those group spoke for the majority'

Hello QuickyBaby. Thanks for you videos, especially the ones about the effect of field mods on heavies, but for once, I won't agree with you.
1. The FCM 63 Pak 40 *used* to be very OP back in the day (between 2014 and maybe 2018). It remains somewhat OP in 2021 but not that much anymore. It gives appprox. +1.5 in WR today. It gave much more (+3) in 2016.
2. Why am I saying that ? Because :
a. WG buffed some other similar tier tanks and issued OP tanks such as the MTLS-1G14
b. as WG's wiki says, "with a thinly armored, open-top superstructure and a weak engine, it has a hard time defending itself when caught in the open". Any scout will easily circle you to death. Any medium/heavy will peek-a-boom you (10 km/h backward ...)
c. the FCM doesn't behave well on city maps. But it never sees Prokhorovka nor Campinovka
d. gone are the tomatoes days. Today, more than 85% of the players at tier 3 are experienced to very experienced. That means those players know by heart the bushes and spots where to look for the FCM on any given map. And of course, those players take advantage of the map and never expose themselves to a TD line of sight, even from far away
e. in Stredny's game, his enemies are for once mostly stupid : even though their allies get killed, they keep coming and what's more along the same path. But as said before, that's become very, very rare. Only *one* (the enemy FCM ...) tried the other path. In my own FCM 36 Pak 40, I personaly have *never* encountered so stupid an enemy team. Never. Period
f. last but not least : if the FCM 63 Pak 40 remained today such a game changer, why did the enemy FCM only make 2 kills ?
Parting shot : (as most elite players) you obviously hate snipers - and arty too. I don't.
This was and is a verry powerfull tank in some certain situations....i remember the time of WG first Clan War Event where there was a turnament starting with tier 3 tanks up until tier 10 at the end and this tank was also involved.
Yep, we had a couple in our clan. We would push them into position.
I got this TD very early in the games existance, But the last few I've taken it out I've died before I could do anything worth while. I enjoyed it earlier on, but now it just collects dust.
I don't think it's the most disgusting tank. I can name 3 just like that who are way more toxic (cough, cough chieftain, cough). For me t8 bourrasqe and progetto premium tanks invoke much more toxicity in my blood stream than this little thing.
At least the bour can be demolished with HE shells even post nerf. :P
EBR's do not belong...Unless they are fixed. Zigzag on ice, mud, sand all BS. Jumping off 20 foot cliffs rolling and landing upright and drive away with no damage.
279e is another ....the tank is UNREAL. In all tanks the engine and tranny sit down in the hull. Also the driver and inside turret. With those inner tracks, it's not possible.
I've own it in wot blitz and was the first tier 3 td that felt really amazing accuracy wise

this tank is overrated, slowest tank in the game situational at best. it can be OP when platooned with a fast tank that can push u at position. view range is important but at that tier u will meet majority of the time mines, ensk and himmelsdorf where there's no practical use of it.

One good balance for this vehicle would be to buff the speed on soft terrain but lower the view range

I had a game in one where I ended up with 13 kills but still lost because I got out rotated by a light. Most definitely an OP tank, and the camo rating on it is just insane.
He should have cap the base also lol
A tier 3 sleeper troll is the Chinese Collector TD MG3 FT. With the 57 mm laser gun 1600 dpm, 112 base pen, 189(!) apcr pen with 1200 m/s velocity! It tears apart heavies. Also can use a 1400 dpm 76 MM gun lower pen but with 115 alpha and potent HE rounds. Best of all it goes 55 kph with light tank agility. Shoot and scoot. Very fun.

at one time, this was a reward td after ton of battles, it is slow tank and many maps that hinder its positives, plus players who know how to counter it, usually hunt it down.
he didnt even cap 100% and kill after that 😆

just for the notice, my max view range (read spotting range) used to be 550m with that duck hunting tower at old days (when view range used to be square) not very fair opponent for newbies...

I mean it's spotting and gun are pretty nuts but what about the Panzer II J? It's basically unkillable at tier 3 except for a handful of TDs including the Pak 40.

I actually sold my fcm pak40 years ago. Kinda regret it just from the collecting point since I had already paid for it but I also hated playing it
I begin every single WoT session (to warm up) in my PAK 40 & once I win a game in it, I move on to play a selection of specific tanks until I am warmed up.
I generally play till I win a game for the 2x bonus. (I play 2 tier III tanks, 4 tier IV & 8 from tier VI, before moving on to tier VIII meds & heavies & then on up to tier IX & X.
I have nerve issues in my right hand which makes it hard to control fine movements until my hand is really warmed up so a minimum of 8 to 10 games in lower tiers usually does it for me.
HOWEVER, I NEVER sit & FARM damage in my PAK 40 cause its too easy. INSTEAD, I go hunting & am very aggressive in it.
I follow you around, force you out of hiding, support other players, I round corners, use my ARMOUR to bounce shells, YES U Can actually bounce SOMETIMES.
About 75% of the time, I am LEADING the charge in my PAK 40 just to make the game move along. I make things happen, I NEVER just sit and farm, NEVER. BORING!
That's what make my PAK so much fun, PUSHING it to its limits & shocking players who don't realize what I CAN do with such a super slug of a tank.
Yes its killer slow to respond as well as travel, but equipped correctly, I made it function well enough to have FUN in it every time I play it. Otherwise, it'd be the most boring tank in the game.
Here is my PAK 40 Set Up & why:
Turbo & Grousers: I make my PAK able to SPIN on a dime so no one can OUTFLANK me, which is what everyone assumes they will do when they get close enough however, BIG MISTAKE when its MY PAK 40 hehe. Before they realize it, I am out-traversing them to the point where I usually catch up and BOOM, GOT YOU. I can traverse my PAK 40 as fast as just about any tank in the game. 50.47 Deg per sec traverse in fact. That's FAST for such a SLUG of a tank.
32 AP /18 Prem / 10 HE shells: For there are some tanks you cannot pen unless you can get behind/beside them so I do carry a few prem shells, but as you can see, NOT many.
View Range: Only 421m cause what is the challenge if I can SEE everyone but they can't see me? NO FUN being Overpowered. I WANT them to see me coming, as they quake in their boots hehe.
Traverse: 50.47: I out-traverse nearly everyone & they are always shocked at how well I can do that.
Aim Time: 1.41
Dispersion: 0.35
I NEVER sit there & just farm & here are my playing stats for my PAK 40 tank to prove it. (also, see my stats)
# of Battles: 1,381
(8 years of playing WoT / I got my PAK at the very beginning & have had it a LONG time)
Victories: 60%
Ave EXP: 598: To get Exp like this u have 2 DRIVE IT around & MAKE things happen, force out the enemy & make them engage you. Everyone is always following the Crazy CHICK in the PAK. lol
Max Exp: 2,517: I wouldn't have Exp like this sitting around snipping. To get Exp like that u have 2 GO hunting & work for it. I NEVER sit there and just FARM. Being aggressive in my PAK is the FUN.
Max Damage: 2,267 Yeah, if I just sat & farmed damage every time I played my PAK, I'd have WAYYY higher damage. Being OP is boring, I want my PLAYING to be what makes my tank good.
Max Kills: 10
I LOVE playing my PAK, mostly cause the tank is OP if you just sit and farm, but I WON'T DO THAT cause its boring, so I make my tank work for me, by pushing it to its limits & hunting down enemies.
I WANNA be the reason my PAK is awesome, not just cause I have one in my garage.
I'm so often the last tank standing against any # of enemy tanks & do very well in my PAK cause of how it's set up & played so aggressively. Learning how to play NON Turreted tanks helps too.
I LOVE playing my PAK 40 TD, NOT cause its so OP, NOT cause it can farm damage by just sitting & hiding, but cause I make my PAK kick bums & hunt so aggressively which makes it more like a sleeper hunter killer than an OP TD. I would rather have a tank "I MAKE SING" rather than an OP tank can sing for anyone just hiding.
I make my PAK FUN to play, despite its sluggishness. It's nice to see others play as I DO too & not just sit & snipe the whole game in ONE SPOT farming.
If that is all you're gonna do the whole game, you may as well have BOUGHT your kills. I'd rather work for them.
