As a Sri Lankan and TEDx fan I am proud of you ❣
Me too
First time A Sri Lankan is seen in TED talks ❤ proud of you madam ❤️
" If you have that culture of kindness in Sri Lanka..." Well said, madam. I really appreciate what you say. The exact word is, "if". Being a prominent Buddhist country, it is paramount that those who adhere to Lord Buddah's teaching adhere to his damma. Kindness is the theme of his preachings. If Sri Lankan Buddhists adhere to his teachings, then this country would really be the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. Thank you, madam.
The pride I am feeling as an Undergraduate of USJ and as a Sri Lankan is beyond words❤.
She is one of the valuable persons who has contributed to Sri Lankan healthcare immensely.
Huge respect.
Absolutely amazing! Around 2018, during a monthly meditation program at her university, an Asapuwa Buddhist monk passionately advocated for the implementation of a TED talk model program to enrich the university stage with valuable knowledge resources. But no one cared.
Now, they are successfully presenting TED talks.
I strongly believe that Japura University should consider initiating a similar program at their university.
0:01 0:01 0:01 Professor Malavige is an
amazing lady, down to earth and so humble with her position and qualifications
All of us, Sri Lankans have a lot to learn from a person of this calibre. I am not in the least surprised at the topic she is speaking on, so important and relevant for our country in this day and age
It works for all of us irrespective of peer group or age. I am an old person writing this. Blessings
Prof.Neelika Malawige, She is my role model. I saw how she worked hard while the corona pandemic in Sri lanka. I am really proud of you madam❤🎉

Dear professor neelika Malawige ,
So proud of you to see you in TedX. I'm so delighted as a sri Lankan. ❤❤
I'm So proud of you madam. First time listening to Sri Lankan talking in Tedx. 💐💗
Great Neelika. A few knows the contribution you and your team made. But not a single politician. You know how the minister made money putting the patients at risk. Anyway you have chosen the most suitable topic which have been taught to us 2600 years ago, but people are not just bothered. 'Karaneeya metta kusalena ......'❤
Wow can't believe this..I read twice before knowing that this is a professor from Sri Lanka talking in TEDx. I'm so proud of you madam.
A treasure from Sri Lanka, prof. Neelika, A very profound and highly intellectual at her best of simplicity, so any person can understand, a most needed thought for the survival of our planet, love your neighbour as you love one another(mark 12:30-31),it's the survival guide.
OMG what a proud moment as a Sri Lanka and Alumnus of USJP. So happy madam
By harvesting the power of kindness, you can achieve incredible things in your life. heartouching speech
Well, call it kindness if you must. I would say that it's the willful collective responsibility of a group of people who's intention is the betterment of mankind instead if winning accolades singularly for themselves. I wish you all the very best madam Prof Neelika, to show the way in this academic Vipers' pit of Sri Lanka. And I insist that this kindness towards all without any discrimination should be cultivated in childhood by the immediate carers, parents, grandparents & primary teachers onwards by example 🙏
I can't believe my eyes 😍😍 Now Our sri lankan things going to the global 🌟 thank you UOsri jayawardenapura
I was delighted to listen to our own professor from SL talking in TED on a very important topic. Congratulations! So proud of you 🙏🙏
First time in TEDx, saw an erudite Sri Lankan lady delivered a nice speech. I think it's a great encouragement for younger generation to go forward and overcome any challenge..........

Wonderful speech Madam and deep meaning too. I have experienced a culture of kindness Ma'am, here in Sri Lanka. It is in the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Also, tje hard part was the Research Project and my Supervisor was Dr. Sandamali Galdolage, Head, Department of Marketing, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Thanks to them Kind Souls - both Faculty and Students I succeded the MBA ! ❤ 🙏 💐
Feeling so proud not only because I'm a Sri Lankan but also as a student of University of Sri Jayewardenepura who have been a student of Prof Neelika herself

So proud of you madam. I’m a frequent listener of Ted talk and never thought I would get the opportunity to listen to a Sri Lankan.
So proud of you Madam. You are a precious daughter of Mother Sri Lanka ❤
Extremely proud and delighted ❤👏
Madam, I'm so proud of you as one of your students... This is my 1st time seeing a SriLankan in TEDx.
Good lesson. Entering University of Ceylon , Engineering faculty before became University of Sri Lanka as an Electrical and Electronic undergraduate we came across lot of harassment (academic nature) from few of my lecturers. We were not extended kindness/support but humiliation. However, this thuggery had developed my strength (thick skin) to withstand any calamity. While following my Masters in Australia, I have observed the support and kindness from all academic staff with no differentiation. I believe the root cause of Sri Lanka's destruction and current state because most of them are arrogant.
It’s our culture made people to be selfish. We are a nation that understood generosity in a different way therefore they are not really helping each other .
Proud of you Prof:
Madam, your words are just what I needed for a long time. Being a medical student, I was clueless at times with no support but there was somebody who became a helping hand. But many of amoung us don't think so.
Absolute masterclass
Clear, precise, to the point
And the power of the message ❤
Good werd out of this pandemic session with your blessings thanks for your
I can't agree with you MORE...prof. Kindness can go a long way, indeed. Hats off to you for taking this reality on to a public forum.
Amazing!!! What a proud moment as a Sri Lankan…. ❤❤❤
First time of seen ted talk by sri lankan😍😍😍😍
Congratulations maam 🙏🙏🙏🙏
What's needed as human beings...yes it's kindness and survival. Great love comes from the bottom of my heart. I really felt it. We are humans not animals who used to survive... survival of the fittest is out for us. We can propogade with the theme SURVIVAL WITH THE KINDNESS. ❤
We are so proud of you Madam, and what you are talking about here is a very important matter-one that humanity seems to be starting to forget.
Prof Neelika Malavige madam, this is really awesome. Congratulations madam. Hail UOSriJayewardenepura and Sri Lanka 🎉🎉🎉
Dear Professor Neilika
Congratulations and we are very proud of you.Your contribution to themedical research is enormous and had many prestigious awards..Most of all you are so human and simple.
Bless you.
Dr Gamini and Dr Neelamanie Punchihewa
Sri lanka making a mark in the world! Proud of you and your team❤
Totally agree with her, I myself try my best to be kind to people most of the time, It works for sure. Sometime it is difficult to maintain this, but if you practice kindness, it can be achieved. Congratulations! Hope many can understand what she say, mostly kind people will understand this for sure.
Well said. I am so proud of you. Wish we were a kinder nation. Selfishness, greed and jealousy always get the better of us.
Wow !! Hats Off prof Neelika!! Feeling so proud as a fellow Sri Lankan !
The theme has a relevance to her personal experiences. It has impacted her and has led to greater achievements. Thus, it could give a message to the world and to current world affairs in a more
broader sense and perspective. Love, kindness, and compassion are major components under her theme. Truley practising of those by anybody will achieve desired results, and the world will become a peaceful and better place for everyone! It also has a much relevance in today's context. Thank you for the presentation! Best wishes for your future endeavours!
Proud of you 🎉 here at Ted, enjoying your talk. May all Sri Lankans get to enjoy such work ethic and work culture.
I'm really proud of you as a Sri Lankan
But isn't it true that Sri Lanka is a country with the most kind cultures? I mean the hospitality there is incredible
Ture. Considering that fact, it is very hard to accept that kindness will solve economic, social and other problems. People of Sri Lanka have been through a lot. I wish it is true that kindness can solve problems, but there is almost nothing that money can't buy. Even if a person is dying, if there are lots of money, you can die peacefully.
@@NetITGeeksyou are holding extremely pure hypocrisy with you. This is not only a problem with you whole nation hold it with them.this is the reason why we have been stuck in the same position since 1948.
Prof Neelika well said and well done. You're an inspiration to all of us . Thank you
It's so amazing. Proud to see a SL on TEDx. Proud of you prof.
The speech was wonderful. Happy to see a fellow Sri Lankan in such a big stage🎉❤
Fantastic Prof. Neelika. We are so lucky to have committed, sharp but most importantly kind professionals like you. Sri Lankan universities have a lot to learn from your team! For the sake of the future of SL, I hope they are humble enough to learn the value of kindness. Thank you so much for sharing!
Proud Moment 🎉 Srilankan Scientist at TEDX.Great !!!

😂😂
It is very pleasure to be a Srilanken lady on TED x media. But lankave education ake, university vala thiyana tharangen lamai kochchara manasika ledduvenavada.
This is such a brilliant speech!! Timely and wonderful.
She is bringing proud to her university as well as her motherland.
Look at her dress! Sri Lankan Saree.. ❤
Prof I admire you a lot during Covid you did your level best to Sri Lankan
Hats off, Prof Neelika. You have selected a non-scientific attitude or quality to educate the misguided mass, especially in SL. The word kindness could be attributed to the survival of all living forms of which the humankind rank supreme! But sadly, we have replaced k with arrogant, crafty intelligence to fulfil our selfish desires! May humanity overcome this attitude super fast, prioritising kindness even against all odds! Kindness affects our living beyond this world! Blessings, Professor
Yes, agree . Kindness and patience together essential.
What a wonderful speech. Felt it to the core. Thank you dear madam.
As a student got to learn from her i am super proud
Very interesting talk. I would like to take Japan as the example for productive though kindness. But not sure that would work for Sri Lanka as attitudes of the people.
Proud of you Madam
Hats off for you !!! ❤
