- Now that Spider Man 2 is officially out, you guys remember when everyone was wondering if they'd do a co op mode for this game? You guys think it'd be a good idea? I personally feel like it would take time from them developing the story and probably make the game worse.

Coop is a enormous task. Single player already has its difficulties with making sure you can guide one player into the story areas and event triggers. Imagine the confusion of triggering story missions from across the city as two players. It’s incredibly tough in open world games to tell compelling stories if you can’t predict pacing and guide the player through the environment .
Having Player 1 and player 2 rules would solve this issue easily. It's player ones world and only player one can trigger story events.
Having a separate dedicated COOP mode would be another workaround. Like how DMC 5 has the bloody palace that is fully coop. Or how Portal 2 has a separate campaign for coop. I would honestly be ok if there was an endless horde mode of hunters and symbiotes that had its own unlockables and was coop. Something completely separate from the main open world and story and content that is of little consequence and using the game mode to test features and stability in hopes for future game implimentation.
@@_You_Are_Not_Him_ It's easy until Player 1 is in a quick time event sequence like the chase on the boats, under the bridge or the climb up the building dodging debris. Where is Player 2 the whole time? You have to create a different parallel experience or make the experience big enough for 2 players every time.

@@DarkPyr0Gaming Honestly that's what it comes down to majority of the time for open world games. Making a separate mode entirely. At that moment though it becomes a lesser priority and the first thing to be on the chopping block if it's getting close to release and the main game isn't ready. Multiplayer got axed from The last of Us 2, Cyberpunk, and even DMC5 bloody palace coop was axed too but can be played with mods(it wasn't at launch and I don't know if it was fully implemented later). It's sad, but companies don't see coop as a core experience majority of the time anymore.
Honestly i feel it should be co-op. Yes it would be more buggy, but they'd obviously fix that before launching the title. That's the big issue with developers nowadays is nobody's really pushing the boundaries for fear of the game being ridiculed for having bugs

Not gonna lie, seeing Connors' son's room hits different after reading the Ultimate Spider-Man comics.
For context:
In the Ultimate Universe, when Connors became the Lizard, he went so wild, that after a while he completely lost control (the Lizard took over) and straight up started eating people.
It went for months, to the point where Connors' side of mind was basically gone - and it led to Lizard going to his own house, where he found his son, Billy Connors, and quite literally ate him alive.
*In the Mainline Comics, Billy is alive.

The system works with singleplayer and should stay that way. If they really want to, they gotta take the Ghost of Tsushima approach where they added it later on.
I was about to mention Ghost...CoOp play modes outside of the story...

22:53 When I first played this game and Peter said "Destory us?" I literally got goosebumps and got super excited. It's still an amazing scene where you see Venom slowly taking over and talking as one with it's host.
I do get what you mean, but I would like a local co-op, I understand, that it would look really weird with a split screen, but I just love the idea of swinging around the city with the bois. Remember when we had split screen coop for COD, damn I just want that feeling again.

I fully support single player story mode, but I would eventually like a simple co-op freeroam just to chill with the homies. Maybe if it gets to PC, perhaps we could get a mod or something.
having coop might change the whole experience because they have to write around the characters being in the same place at the same time and having two separate qtes and puzzles built around it. Unless they change it to where both characters just exist together and miles just can't interact as much as pete player 1 because player 1 needs to do everything. It'd be hard but I would love to see it
I’m visiting my parents right now, and my little brother got the game. We simply just switch whenever the game swaps to Peter or miles. He played Peter, I played Miles. It was a fun experience

If they need to do a Co-Op game it needs to be a separate one in the far future since they still have Wolverine and Spiderman 3.
I’m really confused with co-op mode not being in it when there is 2 main characters. Guess they are taking the sonic and tails route with you being able to pick wich one you want to play as.
you gotta remember floverse, miles just had a game with the ps5 launch and, seeing how peter hasn't had any action in that and only had action in his 2018 spider man, he's going to have some action and now that there is spiderman 3 announced its going to be evident that miles will have more action because it shows that peter might be killed off for the story to *End* So miles will have more action in psider man 3, it makes since that peter would have more action in the story

Co op for triple A games should be a thing already and using ubisoft is a terrible example,I'm pretty sure if Rocksteady implemented co op remaster of the Arkham series games it'd be curtains for everyone including Spiderman unless some brings Marvel Ultimate Alliance 4 but I know I'm dreaming 😂😂😂.

I still have my hopes for a co-op experience feom the Spider-Man games but maybe a spin off before Spider-Man 3 maybe Miles and Silk get a co-op DLC since Peter is on his break and then Peter comes back for Final DLC with Carnage
Easy way to do co-op: ask your homie to bring his PS5 over and you can both play it on each of your own PS5's but have the tv's right beside each other. But obviously you wont see eachother in game
What they should do is add it, but take their time. Put in a lot of effort, and they can make it better than the original base game. They can make it just 2 players,none is Peter and one Miles. They can make a hub and whatever, and it will be good
I mean ghost of Tsushima was able to do multiplayer and have a good single player experience so something like that would be cool or just like free-roaming with a friend would be fun

They should just make a co-op mode if they want so that you 1 is Peter 1 is miles and you either swing around doing side missions and such or like in the miles vs Peter fight you fight each other with maybe different ending it wouldn’t really make since at the same time so maybe not main missions

Honestly single player game codes probably interfere with online co op. I haven’t seen games, except shooters have a good coop since halo
I think if you wana play coop you have to beat the single player mode and then you should be able to play coop

Unity had a bad multiplayer launch? I got it on the Xbox one as a bundle when it first released and I never had any issues
Heres an idea : take your time to properly develop the co op mode and then release a co op game
You can compare Insomniac to other dev teams tho they do things just better than the rest they are on another level if any team can make something work i think it would be them
i'd honestly be fine with coop if it was just swinging through the city, doing overworld stuff together like hideouts etc. doesn't have to let us play the story together cause i can see that become a problem, especially since both chars are doing different stuff at different times, so ya wouldn't really play the story together for the majority of the time anyways.
Would be a cool addition. It’s already cool enough that you can find Miles or Pete depending on who you play as doing their own thing in the world.
Maybe even adding more crimes if you play co-op would be cool so that it doesn’t feel to empty.

i feel they should make multiplayer only free roam and you need 100% to do it. that way, it'll balence out and all they need to do is make the online part.
