    I have some cricut tips! You may have already figured these out, but I love helping people learn how to use their cricut better.
    -When using a new material, always do a small test cut to see what setting you need. Then you can tweak the settings by doing more pressure, having it cut the design twice, etc. I have found that a small star inside a small circle is good for a test cut to make sure it can handle fine details.
    -On the cricut you can change the color of the design so on the make it screen it's not black on black. If you're using multiple colors in your project, it will also automatically split it into different mats for each color.
    -The blue mat you used is light grip. For felt I would use the green regular mat or the pink fabric mat. For cardboard I would use the purple strong grip mat.

    Oh and yes I do have a cricut, I love to make stencils with it and use for glass etching, and also make shirts & totes etc with my art. And baby onesies for baby showers. Also I loved the sewing machine ornament the best, it was so creative!!!

  • @myragroenewegen5426

    So much to say! The pallets could be made of super-thin composite wood material. I have an ornament of a micro sewing kit made with a walnut shell with toothpicks for needles, topped with tiny beads - so you can go micro with the knitting ornament as well. The sewing machine could be given a hard texture like plastic, simply by letting the felt absorb school glue and hanging it to dry on a skewer over a container (you could keep the fabric and thread elements of it soft, by adding them afterwards). If I had a cut-printer like that, I'd make ornaments for face masks--ideal for halloween! I have a steam-punk mask with cogs on my current in-process craft pile right now that uses woodcuts from a woodcut printer(I went and rented the printer to make them) right now. Yay for DIY halloween! You could even create little kids toys to give out instead of candy on there!

    for the paint brushes you should remove from the metal at the top and then cut to desired length, then glue back in and have a finished end.

    • @karenkavett
      @karenkavett  Před 4 lety

      I tried to wiggle the metal part off, but it was pretty securely glued in there. But if you can manage it, that's a great idea.

    Woah! I had ust recently realized I hadn't seen a video from you in a while, but I didn't realize it had been that long! Welcome back! As a knitter and crocheter I love the yarn ball ornament! I actually bought a couple similar ones from a Christmas craft show a few years ago, but I thin kthey were just made with styrofoam balls. Yours are so much nicer! And my cat destroyed one of mine. I might need to make one of these!

    I just discovered your CZcams today. I saw one of your videos of color theory in my Graphic Design classes and then saw a video from Rhett qnd Link where I swear it was you that got your hair done by them so I went on a mission to find out if that was you and found your channel! I've watched a few videos and they are cool. :)
