- Just outside the town of Remagen on the Rhine in Germany, which was made famous in the world war two film ` Bridge at Remagen` in an Heavily wooded area lies the remains of a V1 ramp concrete stantions. Now then , most of us know that the V1`s where mainly aimed at England, however when the allies captured the port of Antwerp on the 4 September. 1944 and the V sites where overrun after the D Day landings, the Germans decided to bombard Brussels and Antwerp with the V weapons
This former launch ramp for the V-1 can be found in the forest near the village of Bruchhausen. Stellung 328 was detonated by retreating German forces in 1945.

@@bunkersfortificationsandme7688 Excellent. Thanks very much!
@@kimparker9923 your very welcome 😊
The Nazis fired the V1? Ah, ok never heard that a Nazi himself fired any rocket. Always thought that german soldiers did that job. I'm really sick that everyone outside of germany calls every german (1934-45) a Nazi! My father was a miner, my grandad was a soldier, grandma was working in a drugstore and none of them were member in the nazi party (like most of the regular people). German population between '34-'45 was apx 68 million, but only 3.6 million were members of the nazi party. 5% in total.... Really like your videos, but try to present the facts in a neutral perspective.
I've just re-watched the video to see if I did mention 'nazi' yes, I did mention it once when I was talking about the V2. That would have been a slip of the tongue and I apologise for that. I can't promise that I won't say it again but if I do then I'll put in the clip below a correction. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😊
@@JasperJokerII I often wonder what I would have done if I was born German in that time, especially if I was young aswell. Would I have known any different than those German children growing up in a totaliterian regime or even a young adult. Propaganda is a very powerful weapon indeed. The nazi era was extremely evil and brutal. I'm just glad that era is over with. When I travelled through Germany last year, I met some wonderful people who could not do enough for me. I'm going back this year to stay with some German friends who I met last year. ❤️
Didn’t have to be a member of the party to support the insanity.
@@bunkersfortificationsandme7688 the werhmacht were complicit, and a huge majority were party members, your apology was gracious
@@fanroche8573 morning Fan. I'm the sort person that tries not to upset people but we are only human. Thanks for watching and commenting.
