I'd been waffling for a long time on which Ti double wall to grab. Your video hit the right note for me as we seem to share some aesthetic and "feel" preferences. I pulled the trigger and got the nesting 3 mug set.....and could not be happier. All my other stainless steel and Ti mugs have gone into the storage bin as I now use my SnowPeak mugs both around the house and on the trails. Light, beautiful, and surprisingly good heat retention for a non-insulated/non-vacuum mug!!
Thank you so much for sharing. It’s nice when a piece of equipment just *clicks* and fits in seamlessly into your life. Glad you’re enjoying the mugs and happy trails!
Have no idea how you are not more popular, by far some of the best content around. Great watch!
Aww shucks, you’re way too kind. Thank you for your lovely words and I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! 🤘
Based on your review, I just decided to buy this mug, and then some: I splurged and bought a lightly used whole set (H450, H300, H200) in the blue color on eBay.
Heck yeah, Nathan! I hope you dig your new set and that it joins you on many epic journeys (or just everyday life) 😊
I was browsing around for a double walled titanium mug and found your channel. Great content, great editing, and great filming. Now subscribed. Thanks for making this!
Thanks for your kind words, Grant! It is greatly appreciated and so glad you enjoyed the video. (Hope you find the perfect double walled mug for your needs!)
Those reviews you shared in the video are GOLD
Thank you ☺️ I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed them.
I have this. Great little mug. I prefer butterfly handles, so I haven't used it in years. I once bought a similar sized mug for like 40 bucks at Army Navy store. The cashier went to ring it up and I think she thought that the price tag was wrong. So funny, as she was probably expecting a 10 dollar mug.
Lol totally Brian! They’re easy to underestimate. Thanks for sharing your story.
I never knew I needed a $50 mug, but now I do!
It was a dangerous video to put out into the world.
Snow Peak stuff may be Spendy, but it tends to be good, too. I have five of the sporks.
I have this mug and the one it stacks into the 450. I have large paws, so I use the 450 the most. I have way too many Snow Peak products including the IGT line. The highest quality!
From a small paw to a big paw, I hear you on the love of Snow Peak! Cool to hear you use your mugs coupled up. They stack so nicely and great to have options without taking up space. Thanks for watching ☺️
Thanks a lot for sharing. 🙏😊
I love your presentation style. Chilled, informative. You have a new subscriber.
I greatly appreciate your comment and I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! ☺️
Milo- today, Dec 23rd, I stood on my back deck,, drinking coffee out of my Snowpeak mug. It was 1 deg F, and was snowing, and the Snowpeak kept my coffee very warm as I drank from it in the cold.
Wolverine! I’m so happy you enjoyed your brisk morning brew and that it was kept warm in your mug. Happy holidays!
Love your shelf!! Cool film cameras, books & tomahawk. 💯 and these mugs are so nice !
And your comment was so nice!! Thank you!! ☺️
Nice review, thanks for sharing! I recently bought a Keith Titanium Mug with a folding handle and lid, and I'm pleased with it! :)
Hey Productum, so glad you got a great camping mug! I hope it provides you with warm beverages on great adventures!
This was an entertaining video. Thanks for putting it together.
You bet and it was a pleasure! Thanks for your kind words here, Mark :)
My favorite double wall glass is 10oz yeti tumbler, it's beefier but nice to use at home. Tbh 50 bucks ain't too much for lifetime joy
“Lifetime of joy”. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Thanks for your comment bagazheful!
I usually always skip American product reviews because of the silly imperial units, however I'm on a hunt for cup. This seems to deliver. Thanks for the video!
Stoked we could get you enjoying an American review and I hope you dig the cup! ☺️
@@milotash Got the mug yesterday and am already in love with it. I perhaps should've gotten the bigger one though, but this one absolutely delivers with its double wall. I make all my coffee with Cuptimo, and they make a perfect combo with the mug.
All the best, thanks for the recommendation!
I already have some of the snow peak gear - top quality! Looks like I’m off to buy a mug now 😮
They really are a one of a kind brand. Their mugs are fantastic and have made it into my EDC without any complaints. Enjoy, Ringo!
I just found your channel looking for reviews of this mug! Great content-subbed!
Hey! Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed ☺️ I really dig your channel as well. Sub right back at’cha!
Great review thanks
Hey, thank you so much! So glad you enjoy!
I loved this cup so much I bought 2.
Then you can water and wine at the same time. Love it.
Nice mug - however I'm digging the vest you are wearing - is that the Filson Mackinaw Western Vest? Looks cool and wears warm I bet ;)
Now how in the heck did you manage to spy and name that vest so accurately, Colin? 👏 bravo. And yes! It's a game changer. I love that Filson does XS sizes and holds true to quality like none other. Happy to meet another Filson aficionado.
Lovely presentation 😊 I would appreciate metric equivalents on-screen, though, imperial units are latin to me ✌😄
Thank you for that call out, Christian! I'll make sure those converted #s are added in my next video and available for my friends across the pond! :)
Thanks for sharing this video. I just got the mug and mine has a slight dint/rise/bend where the lip folds over, as well as inconsistent sizing in the lip as it wraps around the cup. Is this something to expect from the manufacturing process? It may sound pedantic but just thought it would be a little more perfect, especially considering the price. Your one seems flawless.
Hmm that seems odd. I’d say that’s worth reaching out to them. Every time I’ve interacted with them, they have been lovely. I hope your experience is too!
Since it’s double walled, I’m guessing it wouldn’t work over a direct flame?
Correct, Mike. No open flames for this guy. But I’ve found I want to do most of my cooking in a larger vessel, at least for my purposes, so I’m usually carrying something else to cook with. This mug is so light weight you hardly know it’s there in addition to your cooking pot.
Interesting review. Description of this mug truly sounds interesting. Truthfully there is zero zip nada chance I will pay $50-ish for a mug, nope not happening.
So you went to college, congratulations. Suggestion, look up the word use and utilize. Using utilize comes across as pompous and self-ingratiating. 4:31 Utilize has a different meaning and usages than use, thus utilize is not a fancy way to say use. Use means to consume from a limited supply or take something to achieve a result. Utilize means to use something beyond its intended purpose. Example, we use a chair to sit upon, we utilize a chair as a step stool. Notice their different usages? Hope it helps you.
Hey Ricdonato, it must have taken you some time to type that all out - it’s clear that providing word usage feedback is important to you! It sounds like the review (or at least the price point) helped you decide that this wasn’t the right mug for you, which is great! The channel is all about gear spotlights which I hope helps folks make decisions. Take care!
I own many snow peak products, would be nice if you showcased its true worth I.e. put it on a burner for your audience. I have put this cup thru it’s paces and it is indeed my favorite while camping with this for 5 years now
You’ve put the double walled mug on an open flame??
Hi :) Do you put this mug into the dishwasher?
I think you could get away with it, but it's just so lovely of a piece that I hand wash mine with a little soap and water + washcloth. The finish on the outside is too pretty to risk.
Seems like someone else has caught the titanium bug
Indeed I have! Has you as well?
@@milotash Ohhh yeah, couple years back. I started making titanium knives in 2015.
Barely holds ten ounces I would say it’s nine ounces with the lid on other than that nine and a half ounces.
Hey Rubglez, just gave it a measure and it hold as you said. EXACTLY 10 ounces and with the lid on definitely 9 1/2. It’s small but mighty and I don’t mind the meditative act of warming more water up on the fire to pour another cup’a or a little heater pour. Thanks for sharing so folks know what to expect.
There are identical mugs on amazon for half the price
I totally hear ya and if that works for you, great! Go at it! For me, the budget remakes that you’ll find on Amazon are a great vote of confidence that Snow Peak is doing something right in the first place. They’re a strong enough mug in so many elements that others are inspired to copy them. But if you need a cheap cup to drink from, that might be the right way to go!
@milotash I think what I'm saying is you can literally get the exact same thing for half the price.... there is literally no value add by paying 100% more. If you are going to buy a "premium light cup" I might recommend Stanly titanium vacuum insulated cup. It's stupid expensive but at least you get something for your money in return (vacuum insulation in a light package).
Let me stop you there , and blow a small hole in your adulation for a flawed product , hear me out , firstly NO handles thats a pain as it involves a bandana or pot lifter should it ever contain very hot liquids , DOUBLE WALL that' means you can't boil water as it would eventually warp if placed on a heat source , meaning it serves only one function to drink out of , and given it's size I doubt very much 300ml would be a large enough capacity anyway to satisfy anyones thirst for tea or coffee , NOW a single walled mug and I have several all titanium various sizes and made by Snow Peak or the better choice EVERNEW or the king of titan cups MSR and these single walled variants do indeed tick many boxes in the lightweight backpackers gear list being useful for boiling water compact for storage and extremely robust given their low weight credentians ,food for thought perhaps .
Hey mac man, thanks for the comment!
I actually really dig the no handle and was a hit selling point for me. On a cold day when I’m drinking warm liquids, I’m either gloves or the bit of warm feels good on my hands. The double walled construction means it’s never too hot to handle.
You’re correct, double walled has the trade off of no boiling directly in the cup, but I’ve never had the need. I usually bring a small pot and pan set like the Trangia Mini.
You’re right! It is small! Perfect for my tiny paws to wrap around and get a nice little warm beverage in.
That all aside, sounds like you’ve found some great fits with some single walled mugs for your collection! I’m happy for you my friend! ☺️
100% on both sides. Boils down to use case and preferences for sure!
