Had an Indian Scout pull up next to me at a stop light. Gotta love the LOUD aftermarket pipes. NOT!

I’m so torn between a chief sport or a low rider s.

Always the Indian. Just Always The difference in ride quality alone is huge.

Yes, most people need to change the handlebars. It will cost you about $1000 to do that, including labor. Indian seems to make sure that about 90% of riders will need to spend $1K before they are able to ride the bike for more than 30 minutes. Great strategy Indian! Thanks for nothing.

That’s why there is 4 or 5 different chief models to choose from. I don’t know all of them off the top of my head. But chief bobber offers mini apes stock and super chief has a relaxed handle bar position. Different strokes for different folks. Get the right bike for you and you won’t have to complain. You could buy a Honda grom , I’m pretty sure they fit most people without changing the handle bar

To correct your point about american cruisers being the best... yamaha made the stratoliner, roadliner and the raider which all had a 1900cc engine and were much much more advanced and powerful than any indian or harley at that time, even today you would have to spend above 20k$ to have a bike be comparable. There is also suzuki with the m109r, which is still more powerful than every harley and indian in the market right now. Indian does excellent bikes and so does harley but harley is way overpriced and indian is pretty excellent right now.

I totally understand the point you are making… If you are comparing the “Tangibles” yes Japan and Europe have made some great cruisers over the years.
Truth be told, my absolute favorite cruiser is the Triumph Rocket 3
But America has the “Intangibles” or the cool factor when it comes to cruisers. No one at a bike gathering is crouding around a Yamaha Raider or Suzuki Boulevard.
I appreciate your comment, and I’m not arguing or disagreeing with you. I am at the end of the day though a Sales Manager at a powersports store and I have to Sell the Sizzle on what we carry without being disingenuous. 😉
