People speak about the American dream, that sounds like the Great British dream right there, Leon followed a better path than his family before him did and not only become a better man but became a champion inspiring thousands across the world.
@@N1Mosesthere isn’t a great British dream because we are a country of realists not like delusional Americans
@@N1Moses nope he was given benifits by the state that he didn't earn, his father was imported via policy during Windrush. They didn't work for a single thing in the UK. They were given everything. Loan also likes to call the UK racist despite everything he has being given to him for free by that racist country.
He took what was free. Used that to rob and beat people. Then got picked up by UFC.
You fucking wasters will hold up the most trash people and tell yourselves its a rags to riches.
Boi should took the lead he was looking for.

Glad Leon's story is finally getting some attention. What I really appreciate about him is that despite his troubled past and upbringing he seems super quiet and easygoing. He's not the type of guy to talk shit and be aggressive instead he just focuses on doing his best in the Octagon. He should be a huge role model for young boys growing up in similar circumstances as proof there's an alternative to gang life.
how the UFC don't shine more of a light on him even now is beyond me - one of the most inspiring turnaround stories ever
He literally makes the motion of shooting a gun at the camera as his trademark lol
@@chrishickmanmeanwhile guys like Sean Strickland attack people at UFC events
@@darkmagician1710dunno why you want to hate on sean right now, sean literally stood up for leon after colby’s comments to him
But unfortunately that's why he'll never be a superstar.. You got to turn your personality up to 11
As close to a real life rocky story u will get, love how his coach genuinly cares for him
These stories are a dime a dozen with fighters though
@@mohnjarx7801o ya I bet you know a lot of ufc champions
@@tricktop9064 you don't have to know a single one to know that
@@mohnjarx7801 bruh are you brain dead less then 0.01% of the population could even make it in the ufc and even less will ever be a champion
@@mohnjarx7801 nah not like this, the midlands produces a level of brotherhood you wont find in many places. Go into the gyms there and see that they will literally die for eachother.
Used to see him every day after school chilling with my mates, ended up at the same mma gym for a bit, now i'm seeing him in games and taking world titles, the come up is mental and so inspirational for those around here in Brum.
Instead of hiding behind a character, Leon wears his heart on his sleeve, not afraid to show emotion and worked hard to round out his game and become one of the most complete fighters in UFC history. People need to respect this guy way more, but he isn't gonna wait for them to. He's writing his chapter in the sport's history regardless of how much attention he gets from the fans and the organization while staying true to who he is as a man.
wow, beautiful said couldn't agree more
A true champion .
Beautifully said brother
I love that he stays true to who he is because people don't know how to do that nowadays
Well said mate
Dang it, he’s done it, he’s won me over. The way he handled Colby’s comments was pure class. And I love that his corner was so pissed, it shows they care about him. My dad was a drug dealer when I was little and he went to prison when I was 10. He’s still my dad and I’d be devastated if he was murdered.
The thing is that it’s more than he was just a drug dealer. That was life at the time in Jamaica and what they had to do to survive. I have to give him credit for wanting a better life for Leon and getting him out of that kind of lifestyle.
@@AyoAD123dude, his father was a gang leader in the UK
@@carson2725 oh I’m not saying he’s perfect by any means. But he knew what he was doing was wrong and sent Leon off to a better life when he could’ve easily just trained Leon to take over the gang if he wanted.
@@carson2725 the connections to home country are still huge in this kind of thing - remember that they will still have had family back in jamaica. it is not uncommon for gangs to threaten someones family back home, for example. theres also the fact leon's dad still came from that environment. we don't know the exact circumstances, but what we do know is these things are rarely as simplistic "good vs evil" as people want to think.
@Adro-cp9rj his father didn't really "send him off to a better life". His father was actively leading a gang in the UK partaking in murder and extortion. When his father was killed in a gang related incident, Leon was 13
credit to his mom putting him in that gym , taking him out of that environment. credit to him to stick with it. credit to his coach for embracing him early. people impacting people's lives everyday. so important.
The government has to do something so that vital gyms in poor areas aren't having to charge so much a month just a keep the doors open.
How many young people are missing out on the positive benefits and direction fighting gyms give, because they simply can't afford it.
This is amazing. I don’t get why the UFC and the fans aren’t 1000% behind him. Leon’s story is one of the best tales of fighting adversary.
His championship win against Usman is, to me, one of the greatest moments in all of sports. The coach in the corner. The defeated look for 20 minutes. The play by play. The post fight promo. Truly magical.
I was agnostic about this fight (although I liked Leon) but after learning his story and what Colby said I hope Leon hurts him.
Who would have thought leon's signature headshot dead was leon's tribute to his gangster father who was shot dead when he was just 13
i think its because of his accent its hard to understand him sometimes
The lack of charisma. Some people have it, some don’t

We need UFC awards Leon's coach deserves an award
"C'mon Rocky! Don't let him bully u, sun!"
I'm pretty sure there is some kinda award system for coaches.
This video needed to be made! Great job, finally someone gave Leon edwards the recognition he deserves 👏🏽
Keep doing these videos bro this a good way for me to show the homies that mma is deeper than a fistfight
This 👌
It's really not though.
MMA isn’t. Wtf you talking about?
Boxing gyms and mma gyms are a beacon of light in a rough community. There's so many kids that are lost out there and the gym is where they can dig deep down and find themselves. We need combat sports because it provides an environment to release rage legally and professionally
Leon was always a superb fighter. He has one of the cleanest, crispiest styles we've ever seen. He's sharp and everything he does is textbook. He proved he belongs in the top, he only cares about fighting. The "look at me now" speech will always give me goosebumps. The pain and raw emotion in his voice is some serious stuff. That's why we love this game.
If you don't like Leon. Your not a real fan of this sport. The man carrying himself well, humble, respectful and FIGHTS HIS ASS OFF AMD HASNT LOST IN ALMOST 9 YEARS
But he ducked a lot of fights that’s a negative
Guys a fraud
how he just dominated colby@@Jimmyballsthe3rd
@@tropi-rust7725 guy hadn’t fought in a million years and look at him first 3 rounds, guy clearly has the worst case of ring rust. Gets dominated by kamuru for 4 and half rounds then gets lucky, then barely wins a rematch when the guy should have took longer off.
I know he fixed his life but the fact that he went to the UK to escape crime but instead he brought it to the UK shows why places in England like Birmingham have such high crime rates.
The lad has been through so much and is still a good dude you can tell, 100% respect 👏 fan for life
Leon is an absolute legend and nothing but an inspiration. God bless him
he's atill an underdog despite being champion, the ufc don't deserve him
Man his coach deserves also a lot of praise and attention. Without him he couldn’t became the champion he is today .
I didnt know his backstory until after 296 but I did notice his eyes always look like hes hurting deep down. Losing his dad at such a young age makes sense. Fair play to him, hes the champ, his dad would be so proud
Don't look up, look down
Masvidal: Your just a loser in life.
Now Masvidal retired on a 3 fight losing Streak with double digit loses and a brutal embarrasing Knockout.
While Leons defended his Title two times in a row and sended the best pfp in the world to the shadow realm.
Leon is so inspiring. Great to see my People winning in every aspect in Life. His Journey made me really emotional and i'm so happy for him. Birmingham stand up! 🇬🇧🇯🇲🏆❤️
I am legitimately in tears watching this. Like WOW. I don't care who you are, if you aren't moved by a story like that, you aren't human. Incredible vid, incredible champ, instant sub
I chocked up at the thought of my Mother getting that phone call and hearing her cry, big feels.
Aerial's commentary and verbal montage he made for Leon is truly fantastic commentary and journalism. True as can be, painted a perfect picture of the mountain Leon had to climb.
great video btw!
Ans this is why Leon Edwards has the greatest story in UFC.
I respect your opinion! It’s so inspiring, man. You should look into Francis Ngannou’s come up to fighting, that shit actually drew some tears from me!
@@jaystinthunder3689 compared to francis Leon lived easy. Most of the ufc roster has the same story as Leon. Just look at Strickland, Sterling, and many others
@@devshashOG I know right dude? Like Francis had to endure so much, most people would’ve quit trying but Francis doesn’t know that word! That’s why I suggested @mihriyadav4589 look into Francis’ story if they haven’t already, just because I share the same opinion with you, Francis has had the hardest come-up to fighting and has found some of the most success in it as well!
@@devshashOGI think most of the roster is a slight exaggeration
@@devshashOGMost of the roster lived normal lives because they’re normal people. Although strickland and aljo had tough lives i still think Leon’s definitely stands out more. You also have to look at where they are now. Leon is a really likeable guy and very humble and so is Aljo to a lesser extent. Strickland is just an arsehole.
When the coach was telling him “Stop feeling sorry for your fucking self!”, helping focus him in on his goal in a way that maybe no one else but his father could have (if he had been living at that time of course), surreal how amazing that moment is. All the shit Leon had been through, his coach bringing that tough love onto him when he needed it absolute most. Awesome to see
Blessings, peace, success, and harmony to Leon and his family 💪🙏
I really like Leon, seems a total good dude. Emotional aswell which is refreshing to see from a fighter sometimes. A real genuine guy. Hope to see him continue being the success he has been.
By far one of the best documentaries I’ve seen 🙏🏾
The whole vid was awesome but the last 2 minutes were so hype 🥇
Great video and very well done. It was quite eye opening to hear about the challenges Leon has had to endure within the UFC organization. Thanks for putting this together!
Great little production! Got me all emotional and hyped for Leon. I hope he gets to watch this. Nice work, sir! 👌🏻
Brilliantly made video, I hope it brings more people onto Leon's side; he's earned the shit out of this.

great video all around! amazing job cutting and pasting to tell a heroic story
What an incredible recap! I hope the fans will come around after this Colby win. Leon has done it the hard way and deserves all the praise in the world. So much redemption in seeing him succeed after all the negativity I saw online directed at him all those years. Let’s go Rocky 🥊

Well yeah, I’m a Leon Edwards fan now. I always liked his fighting style and his personality. Always seemed like a humble person. I didn’t know his backstory, got a lot of respect for the guy. Maybe he is not a showman and the ufc might not like that, but he definitely someone who is relatable and that still draws buys.

Love him. Love the success he's having now.
Sick video man, you got me pumped on Christmas morning here 👊
man this was an amazing edit. well done
im from leons home town born and raised used to run with the 23drillas and WBP .. leon is such a inspiration watching him brought me away from that life ...

Leon displays that it is possible to be a humble stay in ur lane. Only stand for what you stand on and if its not worth standing for then theres isnt anything to say. He doesnt want or need attention. He doesnt want to or need to talk shit with words... he is a prime example of how the traits of a Sigma type male is what every male should be aiming for. Jus because he isnt loud and talk shit doesnt make him weak. He is the rare type that doesnt get rattled by the antics but stays focus at the task at hand. Doesnt say much unless his words mean something. The type of badass that no one knows about because they dont need to tell everyone about it or constantly put it on display.
Very well put together short documentary my friend 👏👏 had to edit after watching the end of this…wow brought a tear to my eye powerful shit dude ❤

Gang member to ufc champion
I am poor and never turned to crime or gangs and was enticed to but thought it was a cop out. I hope criminals start being treated like so by the judiciary system rather than misunderstood
You made this about you.

I might be an American, on team MAGA, but I hope Leon wins. I think Colby is a great fighter, and he might win, but I think Leon deserves it more. He has gone through hell to be here, and I want to see his hand raised. He is a warrior. Respect for his perseverance.
Colby Covington is a big disgrace to mma and the people who support trump
Colby is the epitome of everything wrong with American culture.
@@user-hx6li5sm8q I agree, he has become extremely toxic trying to stay relevant. There are a lot of people that are almost too far gone, on both sides of the isle. People have forgotten how to love their neighbor, regardless of beliefs. United we will stand, Divided we will fall.
Amazing Edit! What a Journey for Leon! So inspiring
Thanks for telling his story, I had no idea he had it this tough, inspirational champ and proud to support rocky from home soil! 💪
Im from Leon's town, Erdington n it's safe to say he's correct about all the shi that happened over the years here, even though I aint involved in nothing like he was, I know how rough it can be in some parts and how you can easily turn to a life of crime here, even though it's been years since he was part of it
That was very good. He seems like a decent man who has a hard childhood and came out of it to do this!
I find all the antics of Sean Strickland absolutely hilarious and it that's what basically started getting me into all this. I had no idea who Colby was just that I'd vaguely heard the name and thought it was funny when he came out dressed like that and saying outrageous stuff until what he said about Leon's father. I was very pleased to see Leon won this morning (UK time).
Very good video. Actually had me welling up at two different points. When 13 year old Leon was pretending to sleep while hearing the news about his dad and then that incredibly cathartic moment after everything we just saw: look at me now.
Mate the quality on this video was amazing keep it up!
