some notes about getting treasure from an afk fish farm, you need sky access right above your bobber and only air spaces between the water surface and the wiring, torches count against that. i built it underground and it took me a bit to discover that the no sky and then one torch above the water meant I didn't get treasure.

Set an autoclicker and leave it for an hour. it can take a while

Some people like me might have faced some problems but the fish farm actually works and thanks to Shulkercraft for helping me so I did some steps incorrectly and many people can do that which are
1. This is only for Java Edition [Don't know if it works in Bedrock]
2. Before starting fishing turn on the comparators and stand on the edge of the hoper
3. Don't build anything on the top of it like covering it with cobblestone if you wanna cover it to save yourself from mobs leave the top open
4. Aim just above the stone brick Infront of the noteblock for good results
5. Use the same advancements as shown in the video

@@yutta8510 No it doesn't :( cuz 1.16 type fish farm is much less efficient. The system makes fishing rod recast in a short time so make sure you get urself a Luck of the sea lll

a minor update to this system.
if you use f3 and P it will make it so the game doesn't pause when you click off screen (so you don't have to be in your inventory or a chest to stop pausing issues)
combine that with f3 + t and you can have the game auto fishing while you do something else.

What about a creeper farm? You usually place carpets down to stop spider spawns. Remove the carpets. Add in a water dispenser to move spiders to killing chamber

you can use 1 less repeater by setting the repeater at 5:14 to 2, putting redstone dust on top of that glass, and a block to stop it from connecting down.

Mojang has fixed almost all afk fish farms by now. This farm DOES work. However, its treasure loot drop rates are extremely terrible.
I was afk for hours with this design on 1.16.5 and couldn't catch a single enchanted equipment. My fishing rod has luck of the sea II and lure II.
@@felixpham4934 It's because there's a timer that doesn't always work perfectly, so it's much more inefficient than going and actually fishing for stuff. The timer makes it so every so often it'll just retrieve it without actually knowing if it's caught anything, which makes it very inefficient.
@@amazingme012 isnt there a way to lengthen the time before retrieval so that you have an higher chance to get a fish?
@@gufus3045 the time where it is is where you have the highest chance with no lure. If you have lure, you have to adjust it. I’m not sure how much but there is probably a video out there about how much to adjust it.
i like the way you do the afk test it really saves us time debating if it is good or not
Could you explain how this farm works? The iron trapdoor will close in around 5 seconds every time but I can’t catch a fish in 5 seconds...
@@rowey8420 It's a timed farm. If you spend any more time you won't get treasure. YOu need enchantments, like lure to get stuff faster.

You can cut out the left side by adding another trip wire where the bobber lands and inverting the signal to the left piston. This way it only sends a pulse to the trap door when it detects the bobber move (similar to old pressure plate farms) and takes the chance element out of pulling the bobber out of water at the right time. Should make the farm much more efficient

@@defactofaulto8792 Just remove the repeater side of the build(do not remove the one pointing to the piston). use 2 tripwire hooks just like the method shown in the video but this time it should be on the layer just above the water and then connect it with strings. Place a redstone torch behind one of the tripwire hooks and then keep putting redstone(Make a staircase to the repeater that is pointing to the sticky piston) and connect it to the repeater pointing to the piston.

So far my bobber doesn’t seem to get caught on the tripwire and just continuously hits the block below the note block.
Anyone know of a fix?
Update: my issue was I didn’t sneak/crouch to very edge of the hopper! The bobber falls like normal now. Shoutout to SC the vid and my brain which finally turned on

@@CPARADOXC the fishing mechanism itself does, but I haven’t been able to test it properly since you 100% need to have the proper enchantments for it (the timer+red stone connections=if you don’t have Lure 3/LotS3 i *believe* it messes up the formula)

ive got a idea for netherwart farm 1.player in moving minecart holds down rightclick like in this vid minecart moves player past soulsand which player places netherwart on track could be very long use daylight sensor to dispense water to destroy netherwart and use dropper to keep players inventoy full of netherwart

heya shulker, seems you take the time to respond to comments. thats awesome! i do have a question though. im pretty sure i followed your instructions exactly, but im still unable to get anything. i tested it in creative and survival and the rod has the enchantments in the video. i think im messing up on the actual clicking part. do you have any advice that might make that easier? also, i dont have luck of the sea or lure on my main world (i tested this build on a creative world). will this still work without? thanks for your time and these helpful videos!

Is it normal that most of the time I don't end up reeling anything in? I have a lure 3 fishing rod and only about 10% of the time do I actually catch something before the farm cancels it.

one thing shulkercraft should have recomended its recommended to build walls around the farm or make it really high up from all the mobs

Also, one question, what if you have an unenchanted fishing rod without lure, luck of the sea or anything else, can you still get treasure loot?
You can read it online on the minecraft wiki. Thats where I read it. To be able to get tresaure loot, you only need to cast your fishing rod in a larger water area. I dont remember the exact numbers, but if you make a 5×5×5 hole and fill it up with water and cast your rod in the middle, you will be able to get treasure. Its just a small chance (5 percent). Also, there is some 6-7 treasure items you cand get, and each has a 0.8% chance. Enchantments only raise your chances.

Im having a hard time understanding this build. So the right side with the lever closes the trap door after a few seconds. The tripwire also closes the trap door after a few seconds every time your bobber hits it. Between the two of them, this results in the trap door triggering so often that most of your casts cancel before catching anything. Is the point to hope you catch a fish right when the door closes? If thats the case, whats the point of the right side, when the tripwire keeps triggering the trap door anyway?
I also dont seem to catch anything but fish and junk despite having the right size pond and nothing within two blocks above it. Did they change what counts as open water since this was made? ):

same, but the farm is mostly rng, so youre supposed to leave it on for a few hours and get a couple things. because of 1.16, a lot of older fish farms were updated so now bobber detection is the only real way to afk fish, so i guess we just have to deal with it closing too fast sometimes

@@dt3338 Its a construction that notices your bobber going under water from fish biting it, which automaticly releases the trap door so you stop clicking the noteblock and hook your catch. That way its way more efficient but since the update u cant catch treasure loot with this method since the area around the bobber now has to be 2 blocks of air or water on all sides in order for treasure loot but u need something in that area for the bobber detection.
I love this video, best AFK farm ever. But can you make a AFK shulker farm too, please?
I had to put fences everywhere, notably above me to stop phantoms. And a fence around the player helps to not accidentally get knocked in the water.
Misleading, this farm does NOT have bobber detection, it is running on a Redstone timer to hope that you reel in at the correct time. Bobber detection means that the contraption knows when the fish bites. Might as well just use an auto clicker set to 6.5 seconds or w/e the average is.
Put another trip wire where the bobber lands and invert the signal to the left piston.
It acts weird sometimes but it’s pretty reliable if you play with the delays on the repeaters.
The “bobber detection” on the right should work to restart fishing if it messes up somehow but it seems to stop checking after some time
Here's a tip: don't make a roof for this farm. The farm won't work if you do this.

fishing on 1.16+ can be done in river or ocean biomes. but from my experience, the water in the fishing bobber area should not be changed about 1 or 2 blocks or more, I don't know. if using the old system, books and enchanting items cannot be obtained but name tag and others can still be obtained. Just my experience

Hoping someone can help. I cannot get this to work. my rod just keeps casting over and over again. I have my rod fully enchanted, I'm standing at the edge of the hopper, I'm aiming for the note block, and I don't have the top covered. I even broke my rod once because it was just continuously recasting. suggestions?

is your farm underground or above ground because that was my problem (exposure to light increases chance of catching treasure)

It works for me in 1.16.3, I still do get enchanted fishing rods and bows.
Just make sure the water gets direct sunlight, and your fishing rod has lure 3.
The only problem I have is that the item goes into my inventory instead of the hopper, but it works fine if my inventory is full lol
Also during the rain, it's best to change one of the 4 ticks repeater into 2-3 ticks, since the fish gets lured faster during the rain.

No it does not have bobber detection, casting starts a redstone timer that drops a trapdoor causing you to reel in after like 7 seconds. Its the same as using an auto clicker with a 7 second timer.

It didn’t work for me for some reason, I had it going for 20 minutes and caught no fish, it was on a mountain top though, what can I do to fix this?
Instead of starting throwing the rod towards the note book, first throw it to the water, and once you are fishing in the water, start clicking towards the notebook
As someone who had make Shulkercraft's newest iron farm, I think this farm is not worth it if you already build a village with lots of emeralds (by farmers) and sugarcane gaining, you can get loots very easily with librarians (tip: make a save copy before leveling up a librarian and keep loading until you get the intended enchantments)
Heya! Thanks for putting out this video. I knew people would find a solution. One question: Phantoms. Is it possible to put a roof over just the player to cancel out the phantoms?
I'm not actually sure if this makes it count as "indoors" but I've always done a checker pattern roof to block out phantoms and it works.
To afk super long, all we have to do is to build a wall and tame a cat and put the cat on the glass, and no mob can hurt us.

I have my ticks set to what you show, I also have Lure 3, but the timing is still off, it reels in too soon most of the time. I tried setting the one at the end of the string of repeaters from 1 to 4 tickets, still too fast, then that other one of 1 tick from 1 to 4, still too fast. I occasionally pull something in but it's it's maybe 1 in 15-20 it seems like from watching. I do like the secondary timer in case the line doesn't fully cast to trigger the trip wire. Any idea why the line occasionally doesn't fully cast? I've noticed that when you're manually fishing, if you reel in and then re-cast too fast, that it doesn't go out all the way. I'm wondering if it's something related to that.

Just a quick tip, even though this farm isn't very efficient, you can build it next to your afk spot and afk a different farm while getting free loot
What is the right side redstone stuff used for? I could just cast out my line to trigger the tripwire and start afk fishing (utilizing only left side redstone).

I guess there is some misunderstanding when comes to farms like this. I faced the same problem, having Luck of the sea on fishing rod and getting NO treasures. The point for this to work is to be in some ocean biom, then you get all the good stuff. Simple hole in ground or even a river isn't enough to get treasures while fishing. Or maybe is enough but very unefficient.
