I did that a few years ago, in my experience the cleansers and exfoliators are excellent, so gentle and effective. Over time I’ve tried most of Paula’s range but I’ve gone back to the ordinary for things like niacinimide (their serum with tiny bit of their powder), buffet, Hylamide for vit c. I get bumps from dimethicone and Paula’s choice have reformulated many products to add this recently, so not for me. I think best simple range is the mens line, bought them for my partner and used them when I ran out of mine, loved it until they changed the sunscreen formula to include dimethicone

Just tried the 25% ascorbic acid and so far it appears to be the only ascorbic acid product I’ve ever used that doesn’t leave me with weird dark patches. No irritation!
I love her Power Berry serum in the Earth Sourced line. Anthocyanins are promising antioxidants polyphenols and they are naturally pigmented. So when you see a product touting blueberry or açaí but it’s clear or stark white, you question how much you’re getting. This product is pink! Naturally! From the anthocyanins! And it’s so soothing and instantly brightening. I have rosacea and this was the first PC product I tried because I’m obsessed with berry science and it made the biggest difference. It healed my skin enough that I was finally able to tolerate chemical exfoliants and other actives without a rosacea flush!
Also her Resist spf 50 Youth-Extending Fluid is so nice and light, beautiful finish, loaded with antioxidants.
Her Moisture Boost cleanser is the best I’ve ever tried. Sadly discontinued. Maybe her favorite CZcamsr could convince her, and Unilever, to bring it back?!

I have an autoimmune disease and all the comorbidities to go with. That plus my medications give me dry, sensitive, photosensitive skin. PC has been a lifesaver. The exfoliators and cleansers are great but when the business changed hands formulas I loved changed and newer formulas had silicones that caused bumps for me. I have been using Paula’s Choice for many years. The product I’ve been using for decades is the Ultra Light Super Antioxidant Serum. I have sensitive skin and light, easily absorbed products work best for me. I used her retinol (the one in the silver twist top container) for years but stopped when I stared using Tretinoin. I really like the Replenishing Body Lotion and always have a tube in my bathroom, great for chapped skin. I have had some fails with PC, anything that says “emollient” in the title seems to cause breakouts for me. Her serums, other than the Ultra Light, never seem to absorb into my skin. That being said, I will continue to purchase my favorites over and over. PC products can be expensive but I always seem to be able to purchase on sale. If you are one of those organized people, PC does a really good sale in December and you could purchase what you need for a year - I’m not that organized but you might be.

I find the Paula's Choice to be more cost effective than The Ordinary products. My favorite product is the BHA lotion. It can seem obvious but no other products give me the same results. It is one of the products I repurchase the most! Also azelaic acid has a great texture.

Do Retinoids also lead to increased Elastin production or just collagen? Is there any research on that? Should skincare enthusiasts and/or scientists go looking for such and ingredient?

For me the PC retinol 1% was not irritating at all. Instead the BHA exfoliant was irritating and I gave up using it after a while. I guess it's all about what our individual skin can handle.

I have been using Paula's Choice since 2015. Two of my holy grail products are SKIN RECOVERY Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with Retinol and MOISTURE BOOST Hydrating Treatment Cream. These (and the 2% BHA liquid) are the products I am constantly reordering year after year. I have dry skin and also have keratosis pilaris on my face, and it was at the recommendation of a Paula's Choice employee to use the BHA on my KP, and it has made all the difference. Prior to this, everything I read said to use an AHA for KP, but it never worked. My skin is so soft and smooth now.

I've been considering Paula's Choice and I want to say thanks for a really clear, no-hype video that talks about the science behind the products. I'm wondering if that 0.3% Retinol + 2% Bakuchiol Treatment could work for me. I have rosacea and need to be really careful. I've mostly given up on retinol products at this point because I feel stuck having to choose between being red or being wrinkled. LOL. I'll have to look at their line and see if they have something gentle enough that I can protect this 46-year-old skin.

Hi Michelle I do like some of the Paula's choice products and have repurchased them a few times. The calm range really suits my hypersensitive, rosacea and eczema prone skin, but the clinical ultra rich moisturiser is a favourite too. The omega line also works for my skin btw. I always had issues with BHA's until trying the calm 1% BHA - my skin tolerates that a couple of times a week usually. I find 2% is a bit strong for me, but the 1% is the perfect strength and a hard percentage to find tbh. I use 15% prescription azelaic acid and retinaldehyde for my skin - I found tretinoin a bit much (even used very carefully and tolerated well, until the rosacea flares became more frequent). I just can't use vitamin c on my skin - even quite a few of the derivatives cause issues. If I'm going to use an AHA it's the by Wishtrend 5% mandelic acid toner that's my pick for my skin type. Overall I think they have some great products, but the price in the UK is much steeper than in the US (unsure about Australia lol) and it's not a constant buy for me. I tend to mix some of their products into a routine, with some French pharmacy and Korean picks that are more affordable. Best wishes and congrats on the sponsorship.
