IMO the best is the great hall; and all the Hogwarts castle sets that came out in 2018.
The worst the 2022 Hogwarts re-release 20th anniversary Sirius’ rescue… tbh I don’t like like 2021 -2022 Hogwarts castle. I prefer the aesthetics of the 2018 Hogwarts
I just got into Harry Potter, so right now I only have Dumbldore’s office.
I recommend getting the chamber of secrets and the poly juice potion mistake
I’d nominate “Hogsmeade Village Visit” as one of the best: it has stunning exteriors, detailed interiors, and a nice minifig selection (featuring the rarer Madame Rosmerta and Mr. and Mrs. Flume).
The original 2001 set with Fluffy was called the Forbidden Corridor and was my first ever Harry Potter set. That set is also better than the 2021 Fluffy Encounter set, which is sad since the new one is a 20th Anniversary set.
the rise of voldemort is so nostalgic for me. i had just finished the fourth book and then a couple weeks later i got it for eid. great set .
Looking at quality, price playability and visual aesthetic best set for me would have to be the 2018 Burrow. The worst for me would have to be grawp. I have it but I could live without it.

The fluffy and Sirius sets are essential to build the hogwarts in the back of dumbledores office instructions. I do really love the way the Sirius part looks in my castle. I set it up identically to the picture. I do need the magical trunk to get mcgonnigal and it will look good next to buildible Harry and hermione which I just built. I always wanted a macro figure so I really like them. Since I have the castle set up as the scene in the picture I can use the trunk to play with all my extra minifigures from sets and advent calendars. I’m glad I just got into the new system so all my sets go together and I’m trying to get the best sets and figs without buying any that I don’t have space to or want to display.
I consider 10217 Diagon Alley to be a letdown because they could have simply kept adding buildings. Instead, they cranked out a whole new MEGA expensive set and you have to buy several buildings all over again. I was disappointed and didn't get it partly because it was so pricey.
Good contents and good ideas to skip the biggest / obvious sets.

Best (excluding D2Cs): 1. Great Hall 2. Attack at Burrow 3. Hogsmeade 4. Privet Drive 5. Hagrid’s Hut
Worst: 1. Magical/Quidditch trunks 2. Fluffy Encounter 3. Weasleys Wizard Wheezes 4. Buildable Harry/Hermione 5. Umbridge’s Encounter (that Grawp was awful!!)
I can tell minifigs are huge for you (I love them, too), but the castle build got the Chamber of Secrets set was pretty disappointing- very flat- seemed like an afterthought. I could never give that CoS set the title of best.

Don't know why but everytime you said "Harry Potter", I heard "hypothesis". 😅
FFS the Fluffy Encounter set covers both the first encounter, wearing school uniforms and when they go through the trap door, harp later on. The correct Minifigures for the second scenario are in the chess set, for which they are appropriate. I suppose the correct thing would be to put 2 versions of Harry, Ron and Hermoine into the Fluuy Encounter set and charge another $10 or so for the set. Then again you would complain that the set was too expensive etc

Where was 12 grimmauld place in the top 5 list that was one of my fav sets I would have the same as u but drop off the Hogwarts express and move everything down and put grimmauld place 2nd and u should have had the thestral set from 2022 the only thing good about that set was the Minifigures
