@@bvndmxn567 free games , change some system settings which you normally won't be able to ( only do this if you know what you are doing) , you can run older ps console games like some ps2 games and other stuff, also you can download mods of different games

If you run into the error of not being able to find the mirrored website on the ps3 because of an error, make sure that you WiFi on your computer is not set to public! This will NOT allow your computer to be discovered.

Got a PS3 the other day and modded it up tp 4.89 hen but wasn't all that impressed. Was going to use CFW but then the update came along. So had to wait. Was hoping you'd do a video on it as I didn't trust the other ones out there. Yours are so easy to understand and follow along. Will watch the hen update you promised and then decide.

Thank you smmmm!!!! I ran into a few troubles which were when I tried getting my usb drive in fat32 it didn’t suggest a “g” I only had “c” and “d”, I chose d and it didn’t cause any problems! Second problem was that there wasn’t an update from the usb so I fixed it by updating it from safe mode. It worked! And didn’t need to do update it the other few times in safe mode anymore! All solved and worked!!! Thank you so much man🙏

Didn’t have to wait if you used the unofficial bgtoolset websites. I’ve used them multiple times with multiple PS3s as a test. It acts exactly the same

To anyone getting the "Unable to find update" message, launch the ps3 in safe mode by powering off, holding the power button until it turns on and off again, and then holding the power button until you hear two quick beeps.

It's the best when an actual adult makes these jailbreak how-to videos. Tried watching a video last night of some teenager trying to explain how to organize the PSP folders...totally left out the step about how there needs to be a text file in the root folder, but I figured it out.
Hey Blaine awesome video! I just have one question, i already have my ps3 modded with cfw, and i have all sorts of games installed. But if do this in the exact way you did it in the video, do i keep my games or do i have to reinstall them. (The games are with pkg manager so i dont own them)
I know that you will keep your games if on multiman, but im not sure about pkg files

For anyone getting "this page cannot be displayed" error at 10:16, I solved it by doing the following:
1. I am using my laptop which is connected to the exact same wifi that my PS3 is connected to. (Previously I was using my desktop which is connected via ethernet and does not have wifi)
2. I disabled windows public and private firewall. You can enable this again after you finish the jailbreak, but it seems it has to be disabled for this to work.

@@Friendlyman487 Late reply sorry. Are you the admin account of your laptop? I suppose it doesn't have to be a laptop. But your PC and PS3 need to be on the EXACT same network (no extensions, etc). But I'm pretty sure you need to be admin to change these settings.

you cannot put cfw on a super slim sadly. but you can install hen which is a soft mod. still able to get pkgi and stuff like that
I'm stuck on the NOR/NAND page on my PS3, after I Run checks it doesn't give me the patch file, it says " You cannot use this tool because your console is incompatible with CFW! " .. Anyone faced the same issue and solved it ?

Hey everyone I’m pretty sure you have an incompatible model. Such as the 3000 series of PS3 Slim is incompatible with CFW. He doesn’t mention this in the tutorial stating every single model works with the slim but this is absolutely wrong. You might have to download HEN instead of CFW. But I recommend checking what models work with CFW.

Note: if the file doesn’t get dumped on the usb flash drive make sure there is nothing else plugged in the usb ports of your Playstation 3 system.

To any one who’s having the „can not be displayed“ problem
-you need to be in the same (private) Wi-Fi
Just pull out your Ethernet cable if you are linked through that and connect to the same Wi-Fi as the ps3

im having an issue where i go t type my ip in the internet explorer on the ps3 and with the :80 at the end and when i click search it pulls up random websites and not the flasher
i fixed it by using the other ip address that was on there

edit: I now know why this won’t work but there should’ve been clarification that super slim does not work, regardless for anyone who came across this roadblock do not try this with a super slim go for a hen instead.

Yo thanks a lot Blaine, your guide worked. One thing to note is that if the playstation says that therebis no data found ( applicable data) then put the PlayStation into recovery mode and update it from there, and when you go to update it the second time then go to software update on settings and the update file should appear there

Awesome tutorial. However I get a "No Applicable Update Data was Found" error when trying to install the HFW. Even while in Safe Mode. I follow the whole video to a T. Any tips?
Edit: Booted up my system in Recovery Mode and it worked like a charm.

I did try few other methods and tbh I’m not tech savvy enough but all steps were followed as per the video.
Do it in safe mode…..press the power button 10 seconds when its yurn off hold it another 10 seconds

not sure why but when i followed the steps when i got to the part when I put the flash drive in the ps3 the system did detect the flash drive but did not detect the ps3 folder in the flash drive allowing for the update, if anyone could help me let me know.

Does this mod let you play Dreamcast, N64, Saturn games at a locked 60 fps? Is there an option for super sampling Dreamcast and N64 games to look sharp? PS3 should be powerful enough to handle Dreamcast/Saturn emulation
I doubt it. I don't think it'd affect the outcome of emulation much, especially for challenging systems.
So my USB has the PS3 folder in it, and is being recognised by the PS3, but when I go to "update via storage media" it says there's nothing there? Any ideas?

I used my old 486 PC running WIndows 3.11 to test the PS3 xploit site and it works so i guess i set up the XAMPP application fine.
Did you do a video on the differences between cex, dex, pex variations?

Please re-check your internet connection on your PC. It should be connected to the same wifi network on PS3 with 2.4gHz.
I have been connected the PC to wifi 5.0gHz and found the same issued.
After re-coonected the PC to wifi 2.4 gHz. Then we xan access to the PC ip address.

My internet browser does not seem to work. Gives me a DNS error. When I try to solve it following the DNS fixes, it gives me a captcha error but no check box to tick. Any clues to that as well ?

You cannot download this. I fault the creator for not mentioning it doesn’t work for certain numbers. Such as mine PS3 Slim 3000 series is incompatible with CFW so I’d have to look at a tutorial to install HEN

took 5 mins to setup since I had a cfw anyways only downside is u don't have much homebrew since there's no updates yet, if u use ccapi for rtm tools ect don't update yet as u lose that until they update

I get "the page cannot be displayed" when attempting to access flash writer exploit on ps3 web browser. The only thing I can think of that could be causing a hangup is that I'm not connected to my laptops IP even though I inputted everything correctly. I'm stumped as to how to solve this.
I turned off all security settings on my laptop and was able to proceed. I also used the search function rather than file address. A simple, but obscure, fix.

To anybody struggling with the error message on the PS3 when trying to pull the flasher up if you've already made sure your connection was private and it didn't work, this may be a no brainer but, make sure you have the xampp app running. I was following the video and closed it because I had something to do before I came back and got to that step and forgot to open and run the xampp app before wasting 30 minutes trying to get this to work. Hope this helped!
I recently bought a ps3 to jailbreak and it didn't occur to me until I was in the middle of doing it that cfw was not available lol. So I did ps3hen instead. Looks like I'll be undoing ps3hen and redoing it with this guide shortly...
Cool! Just be sure that your PS3 model is in the CFW range. All Fat and all Slim except for the 3000 mdels will work fine.
