- Today we're talking about a book, "La beauté du ciel", which begins with a phone call in May 2017 to a young woman who's told by the police that her mother's grave has been desecrated. Her mother died 35 years before when the woman was just four years old. Three weeks after the phone call, she falls pregnant with her first child. The mother in the story is the Austrian-born actress Romy Schneider, who died in Paris in 1982 aged 43. The daughter and author of the book is the actress Sarah Biasini.

She now has a daughter of her own, and can demonstrate that eternal bond that she had (though short) with her mother. I wonder what her child looks like, does she have those beautiful blue eyes as her mother and grandmother? Or are they as black as volcano rocks, hair fine like sheaths of wheat? Romy, would have made a wonderful grandmother. I think if she had not died of a broken heart, she would have left film making and just go into solitude.

Sounds like lovely lady..but she does not have the exquisite beauty of her mother. If you did not know Romy Schneider was her mother, you would never know. And I'm good with faces. So sad, to grow up without your mother. My own mother, loves her Sisi movies.
