Yeah, here in the U.S. we are known to pack things to the hilt. Lol. Make use of all the empty space. I don't envy the packing and moving part, though, there's a reason that I haven't moved much in my adult life. 🙃 ❤🙂

I feel your pain. I am 63 and my husband is 67 and the day we moved into our new home in August last year, it was 114 degrees. We did all the packing/unpacking and moving by ourselves. We moved 2.5 hours away from our old home with 2 cats who screamed the entire trip. I have ptsd from it now lol 🤣

A little late for the tip but you can wrap the lights around a piece of cardboard and tape the ends so they don't unravel or get tangled.

We just bought our first house a little under a year ago and there is something so beautiful about knowing you dont have to move again! We have moved 10 times in 13 years!! So happy to be done
I recently bought a flat and I’m moving out of my dad’s and even just packing up my bedroom (where the bulk of things are) I was thinking “Jesus Christ why do I have so much stuff” I get the keys on Friday! So excited / nervous!🙈🏠🔑

Moving is the most stressful time, but at least it’s not a frequent thing, I’m sure you both are going to be so happy in your new home, can’t wait for the new house tour 😄

Oh I remember doing this all too often. By the time I hit 30, I started hiring movers. I just couldn’t keep doing it with friends. Too tiring. One of my moves was end of January in a blizzard too-was so glad I did hire movers for that. Love this new journey for you both!

If its a new build, cheack the loft.
Mine has mould and bug infested.(book lice and spring tails)
They enter the home from any small space we didn't no was there.
They are hard to get them to go. So we have to bin everything we own when we move.
Don't worry though the builders laughed at us and wasn't nice at all.
Wanted to say as I didn't no infestation was something you need to look out for in a new build..
Life is no way fair..

I moved 3 weeks ago, for one person I had so much stuff or so it seemed but moving from a shared house where the majority was kept in my room to a small one bed flat I know feel I have a reasonable amount of belongings😂 moving is one of the top 5 life stressors don't forget!

I feel your pain, moving is just not fun the last move for us was 3 years ago when we moved most of our stuff into storage and whenever we unpack that it will be like Christmas

kudos to you both for doing all this yourselves... but i agree: you had a ton more room to pack things in that first truck load.
having moved several times in my life (hazards of the US military career) i have realized its worth the cost to hire someone to pack/move all of my stuff. its less stress on me physically and mentally.
My husband and I moved with our 2 children last year and we filled 4 of those vans
We couldnt believe the crap we had to move (plus new furniture!) Its crazy!

Moving sucks...I'm glad that while I watch this you will be mostly moved, so the worst will be over for you. I am very much the opposite to you...I have a plan and I start it as soon as possible. I'll be moving in the next year or two and I already have started packing. As everything I need will be new I have been buying it bit by bit and packing it into clear tubs.💛💛
I’m just thinking, you’re saying you have a lot of stuff but what you need to keep in mind is that you’re moving your whole life, so it may seem like a lot but in hindsight it’s not that much ❤
Another nice video,Jazzy if you are planning on kids,keep all the art supplies,with the way the prices are going up one pipe cleaner will be 5 pounds inn a couple of years,lol
pro tip for string lights or Christmas lights: when you take them down, as you go, wrap them around your hand and arm, start at your hand go down along the side of your arm under the elbow and back up to your hand, loop through thumb and index finger and repeat XD works like a dream. you can then lay them out unloosing as you go laying them on the floor so they don't tangle and repeat the loop arm hand method so it makes them easier to hang or wrap around a tree.😅moving is always a nightmare, packing is like why? why can't I stay or just leave stuff where they are? But once you're in and settled it feels so nice. At least you two don't have pets cause that's a whole other level of annoying moving with pets.
another tip just for any packing stuff, label the box with a colored sticky or sticker of a solid color and then on a piece of paper or in a note app, label what the color means like pink=living room, light blue=dining room, etc.
This is why you invite friends over to have a packing party and then invite them for a moving party. Buy pizza for everyone. It goes a whole lot faster and easier!

14:30 I’m an Aussie and we try and get stuff done in one go if we can, I would filled that up a lot more than you did ❤.
I would’ve filled it to the point where you could not fit anything else in if you tried and you had to slowly get everything out carefully 😅😅
Yeah that was my thought, a move should be done in one day and as little travel as possible and that van is empty lol
no one talking about the fact Jazz put her finger out towards Nick's backside when he was doing the mattress 😂 definitely something I would do to my other half haha. happy for you guys and the new house!!
That first load had soooo much space left!
I would never move myself again, we used a removal company last time and it was so much easier. Definitely worth the expense!
Pro tip but I have an obscene amount of t-shirts and always use those[clean obvs] to protect my dishwear in moves. That way I'm not having to waste money on a one time use item!
Also then I'm packing literally two different high priority and volume areas [kitchen and primary closet] at the same time 😊

Loads of space left in the van… you’d easily get your couch in to it.

Had same thoughts. They could have just lift the sofa upwards against the side, it looks pretty tall van. Where I am, the rent for the moving van is really high so it must be loaded to the top every time.
Wrap lights around a magazine or newspaper, they then won’t be tangled☺️

The way I like to get rid of things is if you haven’t seen it because it’s in a box. When you open it and have to say I forgot I had this or haven’t seen it in a long time then it’s time to get rid of it.

As an American, I had no idea you guys called them "tethering hooks" I've never heard them called anything other than "bungee chords" (bun-G)
In Australia theyre called either bungee cords or occy straps (because they look like octopus legs when you hold them together in a bundle).
Wow without movers??? My first house I did myself but since then, I’ve always hired movers. I found some really great, super cheap ones this time. Moving still sucked though.
