Darren I think you are the best.Your reviews are no nonsense and you come across very well and you are down to earth.I watch and enjoy all your reviews no matter what the product is.You are one of a kind.Keep it up please.
Thanks for the great feedback Jon, means a lot to hear that, cheers! :)
Just for educational purpose, the plug adaptor that came on the transformer was for North America. I am pretty sure you could put the legs between the board and the surround without using the brackets and it would probably hold in place juste fine. Great review of a nice product, thanks!
Thanks for the info mate! Yeah it will stick in with just the legs if the surround is tight enough. Still prefer to use the brackets for extra security though as I am clumsy lol Thanks, glad you liked the review :)
Great review, Darren! Now my decision is clear. I already thought that this gap would make things easier and you just confirmed it. Thanks a bunch!
Glad it helped 😊👍
@@DartsReviewChannel Hello again Darren! The Torus 270 arrived last week and it's such a perfect light. Especially the 90° cut out I believe is the main reason to make this purchase. I've played full circle dartboard lighting systems and every time I was feeling uncomfortable when taking the darts out from the 19, 3 or 17. Also, when you're not too tall and reach for the upper twenties, it's a lot easier. With the Torus 270 that's just a breeze. Thanks again for your helpful review! Now it's all about a replacement for my 3 year old Blade 5....so I'll check your dartboard recommendations....
@@robertuskoppies444 Glad it helped, just be careful of the sharp corners on it though :)
@@DartsReviewChannel mine came with rubber end plugs, so no need to worry!
@@robertuskoppies2616 Good :)
Great review bud. I've been looking at this lighting system for a while and will get for an upgrade of the 100 model. I have found with the full circle lights they can obstruct a little at the bottom when retrieving darts. 👍🏼🎯
Thanks, I am still using mine so that says something, I also like the Illumina for its neatness and the fact it works rather well for a short horizontal light :)
Best review I’ve seen on this Darren 👍🏼 faultless as always mate 😃 it’s a nice looking light but the gap doesn’t really affect me when I’m playing , obviously it will be better for kids and smaller players , I have the winmau plasma and love it , also with the Taurus I would find it a pain in arse moving clips and taking stuff down when rotating , I just like to spin my board and surround and crack on my light is fixed to my wall not my board 👍🏼
Thanks Kieron! Yeah they all have their own advantages and disadvantages, its what every the individual feels that suits them best :)
Thanks for your review! Made me buy this and so far, I'm very happy with my purchase!
No problem, glad to hear that too! :)
Hey Darren great review, do you think the clamps would work on a Granboard 132 or 3s/Dash? Or is the size of those boards way off for it to work?
I just tried them on the 132 and the clamps are too big. Only way you could fit them is if you had some way of reducing the size, maybe pieces of rubber or thick cardboard but not sure how secure it would be doing that.
The only review that matters!!!
Thanks 👍
Right!? I would watch Darren review anything.
@@Smorkatt Anything eh? lol I will have to put that to the test :P
@@DartsReviewChannel why dont you review a video on an elecrick shock chair 😂😂😂
@@stevenhudson7929 the best ever review been done for that already, hi power!
I like how it lights up the board but it reminds me of one of those cones you put on a dog's head to prevent it from chewing. 🤣 I'm still using an old track light leftover from a renovation but the darn thing gets hot and these LED lights would probably be a better idea. Great review as always 👍
lol cheers! :)
Thanks Darren, great review. I’m going between this one and the Winmau Polaris. Did you do a review of the Polaris, can’t find one? Cheers.
No not had that
Thanks for the review! I went with the Winmau Plasma. Maybe I'm old-school, but I'm used to the warm white light of a traditional light. I can't take the blue white light of the Torus, it hurts my eyes. And the support arms just had to be located right next to double 16, double 2, and double 20, exactly where I don't want them to be. Double 2 champion ftw!
The Plasma has a lot of fans too :)
How do you rotate the board if the light surround is fixed to the board?
Great review, Darren. I've got the Winmau Plasma Light. Obviously takes a bit longer to install because of drilling holes in the wall but board rotation is completely hassle free. If only I could saw a section off the bottom of the light ring 😕 🤣
Thanks mate 😊
Seems to be a solid light darren . cheers 🍻
Its rather good actually, bit more fiddly to set up but most of that is to get them damn little screws in, only need to do that the once though :)
@@DartsReviewChannel 😂🍺
Brilliant review Darren. While it has its pros and cons I think I’ll stick to my target corona light. I find it’s very handy taking it on and off the board (as I have a cabinet and board combo) with the magnetic brackets sticking to the board. The brackets on the mission ring take more time to assemble it seems.
Thanks David, yeah the Corona is still more easy to set up and remove and replace when needed, I am hoping the Torus will be longer lasting for me though as its made of metal, the Corona did not last me very long.
@@DartsReviewChannel what happened the corona?
@@davidcummins1108 magnets came off, then led strip fell off and its kind of warped so I just binned it.
Danke für's Video und die Arbeit dafür.
ich habs mir geholt, weil es unten offen ist und so viel praktischer. hell genug ist es allemale.
Grüße an alle! 😄
No problem 👍😊
Very thorough as usual, Darren. I still wonder why someone would choose this rather than the Target Corona which is so simple to use and quite robust
Thanks mate! :) My Corona was great until the magnets came off and the LED strip fell off, was going to try to fix it but left it to one side and it seemed to warp for some reason, may be the heat in the room as its a converted loft space but I binned it after that. I know some that have had similar issues but I know lots have had no problems at all but think I would prefer this as its made of metal so should be more durable :)
It’s a great looking light system, maybe get this. Great review 👍🏻🎯
Thanks mate! :)
Good review. Bit of mess on putting it all together. I didn't see anything innovative for me to switch out the Target Corona though.
Thanks! like I said in video its a bit fiddly, once that is done though you dont need to use the guide or screw srews in again, its just a case of positioning the brackets and sliding the legs in, not difficult but as I mentioned not as easy as others. :)
good vid ... you have to put the ring on first if you actually want to get the ring on at all!
Thanks! :)
Great review, really appreciated👍🏻 looking for a grippy dart, about to purchase the joe Cullen ones, you know of any better for a middle gripper?
Thanks! So many its hard to remember them all but if you like a lot of grip and a front weighted style then try Harrows Predators and Mission Spiro
Another nice review. Can you measure how far the light ring is from the board?
Thanks! Its 20cm
Felt the pain from knee crunch in that sigh after lol. Videos of these dropping like flies now haha. I really like it though it could be a pain when rotating having to remove clamps each time, seems way more sturdier than corona though. Been looking for light lately, seems interesting no one came up with idea with a hole somewhere for easier pulling of darts, actually makes much sense that way.
lol yeah its not a pleasant sound lol A lot more durable than the Corona but the Corona was easier to set up, I think this has a little better light output though. Like that gap actually, was not sure about it at first but makes sense and light is still strong enough :)
@@DartsReviewChannel Yeah, seems great all together. I was thinking of getting one from winmau but now I might wait when this comes to my country.
Edit: also came to my mind now. Do you think the brackets might come in way with blade's screws on the back that hold the board in place? But I guess even if they do I could always rotate it in a way they don't get in way with each other
Possibly but should be easy to move it a little either way
Would it not be a chew on when rotating the board?
A little bit but only a few minutes at most
I still prefer the Target version because of the magnetic attachment, seems to be easier to remove when turning my board. Nice review, Darren, cheers mate :-)
Thanks! :)
Dosnt matter, take 30sec....magnetic dosnt hold after few months
Once again great review, and again on a product that im interested in buying good stuff 👌
Thanks again!
Seems a bit fiddly when it comes to rotating the board, love the outside the box thinking of the bottom section removed tho,
Great informative review 👍
Thanks Derek! :)
Still using my old Corona Light I did think it was going to be weird with that space at the bottom but it looks good thanks Darren as always informative
Thanks Andy! :)
Hiya Darren. Just wondered if you needed to put the clamps on around the board or would the dart surround hold it well enough. Cheers
if the surround is tight it will hold it
@@DartsReviewChannel thanks for replying. Just thought when you rotate the board it's a little bit of a faff taking the clamps off and on. Cheers
The electrical connection you removed is the one for the US. I would prefer a continuous LED light ring and something with a mounting system that can be hidden by surround. I am actually going to design my own now I live in the US because by the time these light rings sold in the UK get to the US the cost is excessive
Thanks 👍 yeah if you can make your own it's certainly cheaper, lots of people have made their own but I'm not that great at doing things like that 😊
Great review but still think the Target corona works best and it was a lot easier to set up. Keep it up Darren as always mate 😃
Thanks Martin! :)
Looked ok....until I saw the screws. Too many bits involved. Looks like a pain in the ass to rotate the board also. Personally I think the corona vision is a nicer set up. Thanks and great review!
its a bit of a pain like I said but you only need to do that once, after that you only rotate the board may be once a week so dont need to use the guide again, just unclip and re-position the brackets and then slot it in, may take a few minutes but not difficult just a little less easier than some of the others out there, but as it seems more durable then the others and considering my Corona fell apart after a few months I think I can live with that :)
Nice review. I couldn't decide between winmau plazma or mission torus. I'm ordering the 270 now. will look great with my new blade 6 triple core. But what is the best raised oche matt on the market? 🤔
Thanks! Not sure on raised oches, only had the Unicorn one which I still use, good but may be there is better?
@@DartsReviewChannel I use a flat unicorn one but moves about way too much when you walk to retrieve darts 😔. After 75 quid and 65 quid to update my board and lights wanna get perfect mat and surround to match
@@AT-rl4uv might be same as mine, I have another I bought which fits into holes but not had chance to try it yet, I also had an oche r us one but was not that good, best solution is probably to build your own if you are decent at DIY
Would you think this could work upside down . I have limited space above my board and a regular 360 light won’t clear but I think this could work. Just wondering if it would still work as well
Hi mate! Hope u are well. I just finished putting the Torus around my surround but I couldn't clip it to my board as the clippings were too small for my Winmau Blade 5 Dual Core board. It still works without the clippings - i.e. it is still quite strong - but I'm worried the lighting system could fall down after a specific period of time... would it be fine mate?
I am good thanks! So have you just put the legs inbetween the board and surround? If its tight enough it should be ok. You could try tying some rope/string/wire/elastic around the board and legs to keep it more secure though.
@@DartsReviewChannel yh mate i just put the legs in-between the board and surround. Thanks mate.. yh it does look quite tight, if it gets loose, I will definitely take ur advice on board. Have a good day mate!
@@1has9683 Thanks! :)
agree mate. my review highlights the same things. really nice though, just i have a scolia...
Thanks Marc, Scolia, thats crazy money!
Great review Darren (yes I am a year late seeing this but still)
Thanks, better late than never 😊
What about screws behind dartboard? They are on my way to fix this 3 clips
Nice review Darren, thanks.
Thanks 👍
Thanks Darren nicely reviewed good product but I wouldn't say it's the best too fiddly I prefer the target Corona 🎯 happy darting loving the shirt 🎯🎯🎯👍
Thanks Vic, yeah as I mentioned its a bit more fiddly but once its set you dont need to screw the thing together again and dont need to use the guide, its just a case of re-positioning the brackets and slotting the legs in. My Corona was great until the magnets came away from the legs and the led strip fell out, I binned it after that, could have fixed it but I could not be bothered lol
Watching the review and laughing at the colours not quite correct, a white twenty lol. Great vid as always👍🏻
Thanks mate! I left the board like that then hit a 180 on 6th throw the next morning, thought I had hit a 140 then noticed it was a 180 as I was leaving the room and glancing at the board, but yeah its weird throwing at a white 20 :)
Hiya... would you say that the top of the dartboard is brighter then the bottom of the dartboard when you use this light? I don’t know why but when I watch reviews it looks like there is a slight difference
Don't think so but it may look a little different on the video than to the eye in person
@@DartsReviewChannel thanks for you reply!
I could see it being a pain when it comes to rotating the board, why didn't they make it magnetic?
not that difficult, just initial set up is a bit of a pain, not as easy as the corona when it comes to rotate but only a little more time to do, glad they never used magnets though, my magnets came off my Corona and legs warped too so binned it, lots dont have a problem with it but I know some that had similar issues as me.
Cable conection on top not right side, like mission t 100 do... a bit disapointed...
I love my target corona, this is pretty similar with a big bite taken out of it 🤣
Its the Pac Man light :P
Good for easy access
whats the diemsnions as I dont have any more room outside the surround or it will crash into the roof
26" diam
How feels T20 in green colour? I never do that. 😁
Green is good! :)
any idea what the gap is actually for? just for really low darts to miss hitting anything?
As I said in video 😊
@@DartsReviewChannel ah i was a bit skip happy.
@@DJ_Sharpee :)
Sadly I'm really disappointed by this build up. It's the same as all the other lights but with a section removed. I really don't think it was an issue on the earlier surround lights. The build up made me think it would be a new board. There's not much else I think can be made for the game now. Top review as always btw
I think hype was a bit over done for sure, seems to be the way these days, it is a good light though but not spectacularly different, cheers 👍
I think the gap makes a massive difference!
@@paulryan918 good or bad? How could more light be worse?
@@braydenwhite5016 Much better for having the gap! It's easier to grab your darts, you don't knock it, and much easier for youth players to get their darts. And I don't think there is less light!
@@paulryan918 I agree with this. Less likely to break the bottom inadvertently when you are retrieving the darts
Will this fit on my unicorn striker dartboard?
Yeah it should fit all boards
Nice light Darren, Just reading other review the target seem to be better than the mission. All about preference. well hope you feeling better Darren, Get your shot Darren. Peace son.
Thanks Paul! I had my 2nd covid vax on Friday gone. Still got a bit of chest infection though, just lingering on, at least its not covid :)
Would this light work on a target Nexus ?
no
Darren I know this is a old review but on the off chance you this comment do you know where I can buy this item. Can't find one anywhere.
Only place I can think of is Darts Corner, they probably are waiting for more stock though.
@@DartsReviewChannel Thanks Darren I selected the email me when back in stock option. Hope yours is still holding up. They look more sturdy than other light systems and I like the gap for getting your darts out.
@@johnpaulmcdonnell1188 Yeah mine is still fine, I use it on my other board in my loft area, I like it :)
I can't look at that board the 20 is wrong
LOL it is weird, I did hit a 180 the next morning though :)
I came here to find this comment. Triggered massively by the white 20
what's the diameter of the light ring?
about 69cm
Does the light come with the adapters?
You mean the clamps to hold it to the board? Yes.
@@DartsReviewChannel I mean the power plug. For example, the power plug that has the different adapters. Does it come with the adapters?
@@Arian-k3j yeah as I showed in the video :)
@@DartsReviewChannel thanks a lot
White 20 hit me hard 😅
What is the diameter of the light surround?
65cm
@@DartsReviewChannel Many thanks
Does turning d board become a bit of an ordeal with these lighting systems
Not really but you still have to re-position the light surround, only takes a few minutes though.
You do awesome friend
Thanks 👍🙂
Seems like a hassle when it comes time to rotate your board.
Yes the same answer. The brackets slide or not?
Its not that hard really, dont need to use the guide thing anymore, thats just to help for fixing the legs, still a little more fiddly than some like I said in the video though but not difficult.
@@memento316 see my reply to Evan :)
Like this product , nice review . Is it Rocky The Main Star already hit another 9 darter with this new light !? Lol 🎯
He hits them for fun😜🐶
@@DartsReviewChannel no doubt cause he is the best dart player ever lol 🤪
Of course 😊
@@DartsReviewChannel he wears all in green ?
Of course he is ginger
I printed my own, works great
👌
Doesn't seem as nice as my Target Corona which is much easier to install and has light that evenly covers the whole board. .
Light is even on this too, my Corona was great until the legs came away from the magnets and then the led strip fell out, I binned it in the end, still have the magnets stuck together on my desk though lol
My missus would prefer that in our bedroom.
You getting one then?
the first plug was for the United States...
Cheers 👍
Isn't it just a cut down Corona Style Light!!!
aren't they all pretty much the same though :)
Yeah I guess. Have you tried the XQMAX combined surround and lighting system. That's what I use.
@@markleighton7321 no not tried that one
Too much messing around. Magnets work a treat on the corona
They do until they come off like they did on mine and in the end I had to bin it as the legs warped
You cant bang ya arm on the ring alreet are the lights high power lol
It's hi power alreet, did ya not feel it like?
20, 16, 15, dont need this piece of cardboard... 😁😄
Best idea not best light...to bright
So bright it makes the 20 look white 🤣🤣🤣
LOL nice one! :)
I made my own from a hula hoop
its easy enough to do if so minded, lots have made their own but I dont have the time lol :)
