Hi. Thank you for sharing this settings of such great sounds. At the end of the 90s I had to stop and review the Hosanna videos trying to grab what Tom Brooks was using to create those nice sounds that created such atmospheres. After discovering he was using the Yamaha TX802 I bought one together with a KX88 midi keyboard and I sold my DX7 keyboard. Immediately that rich sound was there. Nevertheless, I am quite impressed on how you reached even more closer sounds that perfectly resembles those tracks you uploaded here. Also, you sound very similar in terms of rhythm and chords’ positions. I could barely be similar only owning the split tracks. My curiosity now: did Tom help you to get the sound combinations? Hi thanks very much for your comment. For the most part I worked on trial and error working out that modules would have been available to him at a particular time, and then either bought or borrowed a module to see if I could sense any EP patches that felt similar. The most difficult was God is Able by far because of the depth of sound and complex combinations. The only one Tom told me about was Sing Out he couldn’t remember any of the others at all. So hopefully this preserves it a little bit even if they aren’t 100% perfect!

My word, I never thought that I'd see the day where someone would be interested in this kind of sound! I mean, Tom Brooks is the *THE* definition of gospel music from the late 80's to the 00's and then he just disappeared? I've even asked Don Moen during a YT live that he should get Tom Brooks and interview him (of which he did agree, but I think he's forgot. 😅), I believe there's so much wealth in that man that needs to be shared.
Anyways, this is a great video showcasing the sound, I'm a bit surprised that that Tom hardly used pads to "sustain" the sound? Also, did you get a chance to ask Tom Brooks the exact sounds or you built based on your ear?

So some of the sounds I did get from Tom but the majority were just trial and error taking into account the synth modules he would have had available to him at any time depending on the year they were released. As you can imagine it’s a fair amount of work to obtain the synth then go through each patch to see if it feels like something you’ve heard before 🤯
@@HosannaSounds Thanks for the reply! To be honest, I never did a deep dive into his sounds, partly because there wasn’t much info on him, quite the mysterious man Tom Brooks, so I’d think it’s two DX7s detuned but no pads. You’ve probably been told this before, but you’re doing excellent work!

This is Legendary, I grew up with my mother playing these songs every week. As I am a bit new to Kontakt. I would like to purchase this, but is it that I will need to purchase Kontakt interface / VST first then install the presets? are there any other things I will need.
