IT IS SAID that on October 19, 1994, a band consisting of students from the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) performed for the first time in public at the Taruna Bakti High School Pensi (PENSI=PENtas SenI/art performance) event, This date is also used as the founding date of this band. The name of the band, Seurieus.
The song Bdg 19 Oct was composed by Dinar Hidayat with lyrics co-composed by Dinar, Candil, and Anasthasia. This sweetly delivered heartbreak song became part of the album "Heart Rock".
Taking pictures at the ITB campus, which truly represents the city of Bandung, has become a special spotlight.
In a podcast with Soleh Solihun which was uploaded on Soleh Solihun's CZcams channel on February 17, 2020, Candil shared a story about the song "Bdg 19 Oct". According to the vocalist, there was no particular reason for choosing the date other than "to make it look like a diary". DINAR, THE SONG WRITER, IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO KNOWS THE TRUE MEANING OF THE DATE SELECTION AS THE TITLE.
However, when writing the lyrics, Candil admitted that he immediately imagined the campus atmosphere which was later proven to be beautifully visualized in the video clip.
"In that song, I imagine it's campus. About a love story on campus," he said.
This song is also the soundtrack of the movie "Jomblo".

Anyways, Candil is pronounced like how you say "chan-deel", it was actually his stage name which means a dessert name from Indonesia, "candil".
