My mom had a kiln when I was a kid. She made that tree she painted it white she also made the carolers and many other pieces it was a display at Christmas for years. ❤
My mom and I made those ceramic trees in the late 70's/early 80's! It looks great! I would put a sealer on it, then go over with white wax wiped off to highlight all the texture.
At first, I cringed when you said you were going to paint the tree, but I admit that I really love the result. Plus, you saved it by giving it a new lease on life when no one wanted it as it was.

We have a couple in our family that my mother made in ceramics. We would never paint those however if I bought one add a thrift store I would have no problem painting it like you did . Love the white birds on it
I took a ceramic class in the early 80s and did my ceramic Christmas tree in mother of pearl. Do what makes your heart happy. You'll enjoy it more. I'm impressed at how well your "jadeite" ornaments turned out. Great idea!

Julie just when I think I got you figured out. I don't you come up with the coolest things I've received. This is a kind of thing that I come up with like I'd think outside the box all the time, but I'll be 75 soon. And I can't just do that stuff anymore right now. I'm taking plastic Easter eggs from the Dollar Tree and covering them in some white cotton rope that I got at the thrift store for like 3 bucks for 5 rolls and then I'm gonna paint them and design them and put lacing flowers in. Wooden bunnies, and what have you owned them?Yeah, anyway, but those are just too cool.You do the coolest stuff I've ever seen.You're a lot like I am or was
Julie you did a great job on all these crafts. Personally I have never been attracted to the lighted Christmas trees, so painting it and adding the cute birds did it great justice.
