So I ride the Low Rider ST long haul and quickly break it in with doing over 1000ks - Im starting to truly get the feel of the bike now, and I'm ready to take it into to Geelong Harley to have some modifications made to it - I also give it a speed test which surprises me !
I love that Colin still treats you like the apprentice that he hates.

Ive had a Street Bob 114 for 5 months now. Awesome bike. love the M8 engines, bags of torque everywhere and in any gear, the new softail frames feel incredible. Rock solid, loves sweepers and winding roads. Boogies along. No need to touch anything except the exhaust. Cobra Speedster 909 with a stage one and you'll never look back. Lightest of the bunch in the Softail range and second cheapest. Quality of finish is a 10/10.
At the age of 60 and after owning over 25 bikes I brought my first Harley a lowrider st from Geelong Harley best bike I have ever owned

Get a set of ohlins Harley NIX 30 Cartridge Kit fks508 for the front end you will be blown away on the improvement in ride and handling
Have the 22 version of this bike. About 4500 k on it now. Agree for shorter riders the set up is better. Anyone on the taller side may want to consider mods to bars/seat/controls to improve the rider triangle. 117 (stage 1) is really impressive on this bike and essentially doesn't force you into much more expensive upgrades unless you want to melt tires with regularity. Only not-so-great feature on this bike is the sidestand - waiting for HD or aftermarket to come up with a better alternative. Most importantly, Danny is spot-on with regards to the dramatic improvement in stock harley suspension and frame dynamics on this bike. Ride this and a Road Glide back to back if you don't believe. Avidly await new episodes of your Vlogs. Cheers.

You talk about how great the bike is, how you enjoy the bike being quiet, how great the power is as well as the brakes and suspension. Everything is so, so good. And then you talk about all the changes you're going to make to the bike. You will spend thousands of dollars to upgrade "the best Harley you have ever ridden" (your words). Mark my words, with every modification you make you will slowly turn that bike into (to use your word) "shit". Why fix something that isn't broken? I'm not trying to piss you off, I'm just trying to give you something to think about. Love your videos.

I will never change a thing on mine! I just ripped it in the canyon yesterday and that bike is so fast and so Nimble that it blew my mind I will never change anything because nothing needs to be changed I like it just the way it was built and Milwaukee. when it came off the showroom floor here in Huntington West Virginia it was still perfect

The Springer panhead is killer!
Agree with all you say but a word of warning. I love my LR ST but my wife rides with me 80% of the time. We are both under 70kg. On our crappy bumpy NZ roads the rear shock is totally unable to keep up, bottoms out and has inadequate rebound. If you buy one for 2 up riding a rear shock replacememt is likely required to keep everyone happy. I had a Nitron shock with 60mm stroke and adj. comp/rebound dampening built for me in England to suit our weights.
Better than top branded shocks I have paid twice the price for in the past. Absolutely transformed the bike, but each to their own.
The paint job on that bike is superb!
The Star Racing 30/30 cam is great, comes on strong from the low RPM and howls through the md range, I have one on my 117, you will love it.

I see you live in a typical Australian suburb on the outer grasslands, a real bogan. I grew up in the Western suburb grasslands, had a postie bike as a kid, I now live in Ukraine, own a Sviet motorbike made in Ukriane. All new roads here, grouse food, and restuarants, Carpathian moutnains are superb
So much of the Sport Glide is in the El DIablo.. Front forks & Bags are same as Glide. (Wish I had dual discs on my Glide..but still good enough with single) - Sport Glide is soo comfy to ride and love it to bits and it's pretty damn quick as well.. Will be getting Stage 2 at some point....just saving up some cash atm for a Saddleman SDC Performance grip seat. That El Diablo is a tidy looking machine...can't wait to see what you do with yours mate.

Danny, found you about half way into your South American tour. Great content and good camera work (background music is on point also) and honest reactions. The shit you put that Harley through in S.A. gave me a new respect for the brand. I have owned and ridden many different bikes in the 55 years I've been riding but never an HD for two reasons, cost and dealer support. I'm happy living vicariously through you though, keep up the good work mate.

Diablo and FXLRST look good bikes, possibly the first HD I’d consider since the Vrod 😎 HD so need to do a Bronx on 17s
just the beach test is missing... and some dropdowns. Lol. I'm not a modern Harley guy, more the old ones, but this one seems an excellent roadbike for trips. Thanks for sharing this video, always a pleasure to watch. Cheers from France
I have a fat bob at the moment, and was thinking about upgrading to street/road glide but after riding both I tried the ST and now I know that is the bike for me. Im going to hold onto the fat bob for now and when they announce the final model year of the FXLRST then ill upgrade to one.
The low rider st, the sport glide, and the switchback are pretty much different iterations of the same bike. Harley had to keep going back to the drawing board until they made one that everyone would like! You are right, though. The ST just about has everything that people could ever possibly want from a bike! Sporty enough to be fun, but comfy enough to really do some serious miles on! I’m saving up my pennies now for my very own!

DANNY,,, Yes mate the soft tail is a totally different animal when it comes to comfort over the bumps (etc) I hop on my Deluxe after riding my FLHXSE all day long and the ride is un-matched.. Love it mate. I’ve got the 2022 Low Rider S and love it. Your exactly right tho. Even tho it’s a awesome bike you still need to change little things to make it fit your body and size. Me for example am 6ft so put forward controls on it and now need to change the bars for more comfort. Great vlog bro

Agreed such a great bike to start with to make your perfect ride.
Glad you stated the obvious: great bike for short riders. No so much for the daddy-long legs. Watched your ergos (seat to foot peg ratio) and knee angles and they don't look comfy for tall riders.
I can't and will never understand why Harley waited so long to release a mid-sized sport touring bike. It's been over 35 year since they put out the FXRD. I think they are finding that there is a market. This is a beautiful bike. It's about time Harley. Thanks for showing it off Danny. Cheers.

I test rode one of these bikes a week or so ago and I agree its the Harley I would buy if I were going to buy a Harley. But in every area my current ride (2020 Triumph Rocket GT) outshines the Low Rider. Pegging the throttle on the Low Rider elicits a gentle tug on the body while pegging the throttle on the Rocket opens up a whole new conception on what real power and torque are, along with a shit eating grin. The brakes on the Low Rider are combined pretty darn good, the front brake is outstanding while the rear brake is less than overwhelming. Handling is pretty good, not in the class of the Rocket but pretty good. Ride comfort is one place the Low Rider has a bit of an edge on the Rocket.
yes And the rocket is such a compact bike too. Light as.

Rag on Harley he says. After taking his bikes to hell and back I would say that he’s anti that with Harley. The new softails are impressive bikes. Rode a couple and they are fun. Just like my twin cam road king for character. Thanks for the review on the ST awesome bike for sure.
