Fascinating interview. I am really interested in the extent to which Lorraine has integrated these different disciplines and her personal experience for what seem like pretty revolutionary therapies. Great work!

I have been following the Touchy Subject for a while now and find it interesting. Although I did not have prostate cancer thus causing ED, my sexual health history is lengthy and a bit complicated too. Born 66 years ago with undescended testicles, I had surgery at age 10 to have them lowered and sutured in to my scrotum. The surgery was very traumatic both the surgery itself and the subsequent pain that would follow until I had an orchiectomy at age 45. Many surgeries in between caused a lot of anxiety and PTSD. Yes, I also have ED as you could imagine. I have tried meds and pumps to no avail. I sought EMDR a few years ago thru a psychologist to deal with the fear and anxiety of surgery and medical procedures in general. The EMDR helped me tremendously but when we started to discuss the sexual aspect, my wife threw the red flag about discussing our sex life with the woman counselor. I still have ED and still relive that discussion with my wife. I think it's great when there is a supportive spouse. I can see that is more likely to happen when cancer is involved. I'm not complaining just saying guys should have the full understanding and support of their wife if seeking EMDR to deal with surgical anxiety and ED issues. Nothing is worse than a lack of support when it deals with such a sensitive issue. Victoria, always an informative discussion on your website. A big thank you.

Hi Road. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with ED over the years. I completely understand how difficult it can be to open up and share and find the support you need. We appreciate your kind feedback and are so pleased to hear that you find our resources informative and helpful.
