Britney Spears is one of the last major pop stars to have made it big on talent and presentation without iphones, reality TV, and social media. She made it big before celebrities were just famous for being famous (Kardashians), or saying/doing controversial/stupid stuff. I was in sophomore year high school when this song broke out, and everyone in school knew her- instant pop icon. She later had some troubled years and fell off the radar, but didn't stay out- unlike other pop stars, she survived, came back and kept her career going strong.

@@bellz2000.b she has a lot of mental health problems. Along with being mentally stuck in the 00s during the peak of her carrer. She's also forced to have a conservator which is her dad in her case and he's in charge of her life. Britney has little to no say what happen with her and her career.
I don't think you can overstate just how incredible and influential a song this really was. There is only a small handful of songs that initiated a new genre of music that define a decade and this was one of them. I am talking songs like rock around the clock, I want to hold your hand, smells like teen spirit.

i remember staying up super late watching music videos on our tiny tv with antena, i sat on the floor when baby one more time came on for the first time. the grainy tv and small screen with barely color was nothing compared to this song and brittany killing it in the video, i was instantly obsessed . that era can never be repeated. so happy that was my childhood.

Lily Smith Yea but a lot of ppl complains a lot about the current tour videos for the most part because the quick edits and flashing lights just like madonna rebel heart tour i tried to watch it on dvd but it hurt my eyes so much from how quick the cuts were and the lights also hurt my eyes but having a vid of you and your friends or family members while at the concert is way more sentimental and memorable than a tour dvd
