    That’s a really nice setup you have there. The only thing I don’t care much for is the new way JD mounts the blower to the tractor. I had an older version of what you have. It was a 97’ JD 955 with snowblower and heated cab. What I liked better about mine was the way the snowblower mounted to the tractor. Yours I believe has a mount that you have to put on in order to use the blower. Mine used the same mount as the belly mower deck with the exception of the carrier that held the two driveshafts together which stayed on the tractor all the time. You just disconnected the driveshafts. It was so much easier. To install or remove the the snowblower took all of 5 minutes or less depending on how level the tractor was to the snowblower. Cool video though. Sure beats the heck out of a walk behind snowblower. Thanks for sharing!

      Thank You. It’s really quite easy to hook up the blower. I don’t think it takes all that long but it’s still fairly new to me! Hardest part for me is the hydraulic quick connects. With the Mauser cab you don’t have much room for your hands and maneuvering lines. Thank You for watching and commenting. I will have a video coming showing 200 hours service and I plan on including me attaching my blower. Maybe you could watch and hopefully it will show/explain the hook up.

    I would like to see the back scrape blade make a few passes after the snowblower has cleaned the deeper snow.

      If you’d like on this video czcams.com/video/EIr2-1i0De8/video.htmlsi=Ybmgv1Xw5dYnD9_n Around the 7:42 mark you can see that rear blade in action. I believe there’s several other videos of mine where I show using it to windrow the snow to the middle of the road and then blow it away. The rear blade is a huge help in preventing build up. Thanks for watching!

    You have such a nice tractor, please keep good care of it. I would let the engine run a minute or two after heavy work, and the diesel you could probably run five minutes with little gas, it is much better on the engine and will last much longer. I let all gas engines idle about a minute after working it.

    That's a mighty long driveway to snowblow with a 1025, but it does surprisingly good. I hope for this kind of snow in MT this season. We need to vet the new covid refugees that moved here from the cities, making sure if they have enough snow shovling stamina?

    • @gtalaskanadventures
      @gtalaskanadventures  Před rokem +2

      It does more than good. Handles it like a beast. And it’s actually a road just not one up to our borough standards. 1/2 mile from our drive to a maintained road. Hopefully there be lots of snow for both of us. Appreciate you commenting and Thank You for watching!!!

    Nice Snowblower work. Would a plow do the job any better for you? Ive found that plowing is about 3 times faster as long as the snow is not over 6-8 inches deep. All the best and God Bless. 🙏❤🇺🇸

    • @gtalaskanadventures
      @gtalaskanadventures  Před rokem +2

      Hey Joe thanks for your comments. So I plowed for 14-15 years our road. And yes early winter it’s faster. The problem with plowing is that after about 1/3 of winter I was spending so much time trying to find places to stack the snow. And yes I always started as far back as possible. So by winters end I was plowing same section of the road 10-15 times trying to carry it to the end of the road where there is road maintenance. So for me blowing it and not having to worry about places to put snow in the long run is much faster and so less frustrating.

    • @ActiveJoe
      @ActiveJoe Před rokem +1

      @@gtalaskanadventures Oh yeah, when I'm plowing my mind is always on where to put the snow so then next snofall has a place to go. Having a snowblower takes that out of the equation for sure. Hoping to see more snow videos from you this season too.

    • @gtalaskanadventures
      @gtalaskanadventures  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey thanks for your comment! And for watching! Yes it is a gravel road. So I don’t remember what setting I had it exactly set at. Going to say highest at beginning of winter which I believe is 1 3/4. I also was turning rear blade so it like you back dragging with plow if that makes sense. That helped pack everything good and tight. After couple snow falls and doing that I went to I believe 1/2” setting. Only ever had minor occasions when I got any stones. Mostly in my own yard and drive🤣
