  • In a Deep, Dark Chamber of an ancient temple, there are two fearsome statues. However, the real mystery begins only when you realize they have holes in specific parts of their bodies.

    06:38 - Advanced Ancient Technology?
    08:04 - Conclusion
Hey guys, today, I am going to show you just two, very strange ancient statues, and why these statues are so important to understand.
This is the first one, take a careful look. I found this in a very ancient Indian temple. As you can see, it looks quite scary. I can go into a lot of details like what he is, why he looks like this. Why his hair is looking like this, why his tongue is sticking out, if he is human or if he is something else, etcetera. But I am not going to describe these details now, because there is something much more important I would like to show you today.
Right opposite to this statue, there is the 2nd statue. The hairdo is a little bit different, the eyes are popping out, again it looks quite scary, these statues are definitely not for the faint of heart.
But this is not the shocking part. The shocking part is this hole on his stomach, on his abdomen. As you can see, this is a large hole, it is large enough for me to put a finger into this. My finger is freely going inside. Why would someone make these scary statues in a Hindu temple, I mean surely these are not put for worshipping, right? On top of that, why would they drill a hole on his abdomen? But this could be a coincidence, may be an ancient sculptor was just bored and testing out his drilling skills, right?
Let us go back to the opposite statue and take a look. Again, the same hole, the same size, in the same spot, on the right side of his abdomen.
Why? I am going to tell you why in this video, but the standard answer from Historians and Archeologists is very shallow. According them, these are meaningless holes, these are demons and demons have holes in their bodies, etc. They come up with elaborate names for these statues like Vetal, Booth, etc. But when it comes to these holes, nobody can give a good answer.
Now, it is very interesting to me that today, doctors put holes exactly in this place on human bodies. Because that is precisely where your liver is. If you ask your doctor: he will tell you that the liver is located at the upper right portion of your abdomen, just below your ribs. And this is not a coincidence. Because both these statues show the exact same detail, the upper right portion of the abdomen.
    Biliary Drainage:
Now why would a doctor, a surgeon put a hole here, right? This procedure is called a Biliary drainage procedure. When the liver is not able to function well, and its fluid is not driining well, you can manually drain it by putting a hole, right here. The liver secretes a fluid called Bile, that’s why this procedure is called Biliary Drainage, I am not going to bore you with more medical details. And of course, why would your liver not function well? Yes, correct, liver problems start mostly if you are drinking too much alcohol.
And here is the strange part of this, look at these figures at the bottom of this statue. All these four figures have something in common. They appear to be drinking, here it is clear that he is drinking from a tall glass or cup. The guy on top has a smaller, shallow cup. On the other side, this guy is clearly licking the side of a cup, it must remind you of tequila shots, right? On top again, this guy is holding a smaller cup, I think he is offering alcohol to the main guy. Very strange depiction. These 4 guys only seem to reinforce the theory that yes, he is in alcoholic that hole was in fact done for biliary drainage.
Of course we have to talk about these figures, I mean what do they represent? Do they represent demons, fallen angels, Goblins, aliens? Or are they actually mocking humans, are they representing alcoholics? Wikipedia confirms that, these figures are called Vetala or Vetal . The term actually means evil spirits...They are known to be more active at night and trouble normal humans. They are known to be extremely weak and they walk shakily and are known for their rage and meaningless talk. This guy has cut someone’s head off and he is gonna eat his brain. That’s a universal expression, even in English. So is Vetal just a metaphor for an Alcoholic? But there is something even more strange. Watch carefully. These are the scary eyes popping out, but right behind this eye socket, in the skull, there is another hole.

Lobotomies were made near the nose, not in the outer side of the eyes.
In biliary drainage procedures, a catheter is inserted into biliary ducts, on the right side of the liver, not below it.
Socket holes were made in Hindu statues to secure them with iron cramps or put parts.
Archaeologists are not trying people to see and access those statues. It seems they represent two guardians, Bhoota and Preta, in the Lakshmi Devi Temple, Doddagaddavalli.

It's really good to know more details about the statues that scared me in my childhood,
As the shrine is dedicated to lord Shiva, I thought these statues symbolises his booth and pisacha ganas, there are 8 more shrines in the same temple complex which have different sizes of shivlingas
In most of the doorways and even in theother places on the flooring you can see some depressions that clearly are formed by rubbing with another stonelike how ayurvedic doctors prepare potions from herbs by grinding them between stones and you can find these depressions even on shivlingams in the other smaller shrines
I heard that this is the place for alchemists who are trying to prepare elixir by collecting the herbs from the nearby forest and grid them on these 8 shiv Lingams in a particular sequence which only very few of them knows

What a fascinating video. Thank you for sharing this incredible discovery!
Irrespective of the possibility that ancient people performed lobotomies and biliary drainages, this at the very least shows that they knew human anatomy at a time when autopsies weren't practiced. The earliest known human autopsy was 44 BC(E). What strikes me is that this cranial hole is near the prefrontal cortex where we process decision making. It can't be overstated that ancient civilizations were far more advanced than many historians would like us to believe. This channel was a very excellent find. Keep up the inspiring work. 🙂

Sir, There is an ancient Indian Physician called Sushrutha (said to be the world's first surgeon) who knew intricate details of anatomy more than 3000 years ago. However, if we are to actually date Sushrutha I'm sure it will be well over 5000 years ago.
He performed cataract operations and even Rhinoplasty.
I believe there is evidence of medical science that dates back to more than 5000 years.

These "holes" if we guessed right depict surgical invasion to solve a problem.
All surgical procedures were first practiced on corpses or dead bodies, a day or two old; stolen in secret for this purpose!
These were not preserved or embalmed and would be swollen to some extent, hence the popping eyes.
The lungs will be among the first to deterriorate and cause cavities all around.
The intestines would have to be emptied to make work easier!
Perhaps a revered place like a temple had to have an aura of mystery and awe and some stark reality!
A visit to a graveyard cemetary or cremation ground could also make one seriously consider or respect the metaphysical aspects of life.

Great insight. Yes, the liver point "14" (the house of the soul) is exactly located on the right and left side under the ribs where the hole is. Also, the lateral aspect of the right eye (and left) is/are "potent points" for alcoholism and chronic addiction. In fact, with hepatic failure due to alcoholic fatty liver disease in patients, the liver bleeds incessantly and blood flows out of the alcoholics eyes from the lateral point indicated on the statue. However, these "potent energy points" also become problematic when someone is "possessed by demon/s"... in other words, if someone has chronic mental illness or demonic possession their liver 14 points become painful and distended, due to excessive production of bile. Also, their eyes bulge and are often bloodshot. So, in my opinion these statues represent the curse of people suffering from demonic possession and/or chronic addiction. Demons attach themselves in the liver of the possessed person, thus manifesting as alcoholic/non alcoholic liver fatty disease and mental illness, insanity, and multiple personify disorders. More fascinating is that Patients with these types of disease always become emaciated and their sexual organs swell because the energy meridian system (sexual organs) and digestive systems can no longer effeciently process food or produce reproductive hormones. Moreover, the statues indicates the potent points that must be stimulated/affected to heal such victims. Fascinating science embedded in this temple of healing demonic possesion. Thank you for posting!

The first impression i had thought upon seeing the statues were that they were demonic death gods...looking somewhat simular to the Middle and South American idols. I had not known about the Bile draining proceedure. It is too bad we lost so much of the knowledge of ancient civilizations. I have also seen the picture of an ancient Pharaoh with the metal pin/bar in his leg that was also expertly done. I am wondering what else willl be unearth that may hold even more things for us to rediscover. Soloman was right.. there is nothing new under the sun! We just have forgotten it all.

These are medical teaching statues. The statues show exaggerated symptoms of alcoholism as well as the possible treatments.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Temple was full of medical statues at some time and like at the great library. People from all over the world came to learn.
This way instead of having a class teaching. A statue showing symptoms and treatments could inform people with questions, wanting to treat a family member or king in a far away land. . .
Maybe these statues had a guru close by. Maybe the statue had wood inserts to show more organs and treatments. What about a brochure or leaflet.
It makes more sense to have a statue than to have a class giving lessons when the class did not know how many students there would be because people travelled by foot from far and medical procedures are time sensitive so a pilgrim wanting to cure their king could not sit around waiting for a week for the next class. . .
      What do you think?

You said: "I love that you pay attention to details that so many people would overlook".
Did you, for instance, check how the mentioned procedures are (or were) made?
For instance, lobotomies were not made in that side of the eye (it was near the nose). You can see pictures of biliary drainages (or stent) and compare to what was claimed. Catheters were inserted into bile ducts on the right side of the liver, not below it. It's used as a treatment for cholestasis.
Do you know the name of the place where those statues are located? It's the Lakshmi Devi Temple, in Doddagaddavalli.
Did you check that Wikipedia page? It cites the American Institute of Indian Studies.

Temples were always the place where arts science dance and music thrived in India, even during 1000 yrs of continuous invasion its still thrived. But now its all under government control and the art of sculpting dance etc are declining.
You have to read Indian scriptures to understand, be it Hindu, Buddist, or Jain philosophies all the Dharmic traditions are born on this land. Unlike majority thinks all the Sanskrit scriptures doesn't talks about god its only about 20% rest are science arts music etc.

It appears from your investigations that these temples are not merely places of worship but are actually "libraries" depositories of knowledge and instructions from knot tying to medical procedures and various technologies either forgotten or in use today.
