can we say it all started with apple m1? not the first one to develop perhaps but the one who started the iniative othwerwise intel would not move a muscle
Nah I don't think so, sure apple also added to it but amd put pressure on Intel way before that in terms of efficiency and performance (and has an ai coprocessor since last year), and the ai hardware got big with Nvidia gpus way before. Big problem with Intel was also that they just didn't get their manufacturing up to speed for years while everyone else used tsmc which provides the best manufacturing nodes, and that alone has a major impact on efficiency and performance.
