This was a very important champions league clash, Donnarunma as a professional goalkeeper should know the weight and importance of such a match. He had enough time to boot the ball away, and if he had done that the outcome of the match would have been different. But he felt a champions league knock out tie was the best place for a goalkeeper to show his foot and ball work against one of the best strikers in the world. I blame Donnaruma for PSG's lose, because houses that go down in flames can be caused by little sparks, and the mistake from Donnarunma was the little spark that brought about the flame that burnt down the whole PSG team.
@@basilicata92 I don´t think it was a foul remeber the goalkeeper is onyl protected if he is playing in his innermost rectangle , outside that one if he is playing with his feet, there may be contact normal to the football sport. Very well put your protecting a 2-0 aggregate lead with 29 minutes remaining in regulation just kick ball out of bounds he had plenty of time. Loss is on Donnarumma 100%
It seems like a clear foul. The pressing player raised his boot and got the keeper's supporting leg with his stretching elevated one. I'm not sure if his boot clipped the keeper as he cracked him, though.
I'm not surprised that. It was the tradition of Real Madrid in the champions league. They always win like this and everyone knows their winning is unfair. Congratulations! Real Madrid you have another chance to win the final stage. 👏👏👏
Donnarumma should have belted it clear as soon as he knew Benzema was on him, even if it meant conceding a corner. But Benzema bowled him over without making any ball contact and did so from behind (not a shoulder-to-shoulder challenge). Should have been a foul and killed the play right there.
I think because Donnarumma stood up too quickly, it made the referee think it's not a foul. If he just lied on the ground, maybe he would've gotten a foul. But can't blame the referee on this if there is VAR who can replay the video for recheck, and they didn't.
@@serdiltayfur6232 Quick question, which club do you support? And also, there's many instances where this became a foul, and even lighter ones. Benzema didn't touch the ball at all in his tackle attempt. From my knowledge, if you attempt a tackle and you don't even touch the ball yet your leg came in contact with the leg of the player in possession, then it's a foul.
I'm not a PSG or RMA fan but I want to make it all clear. 1) Donnaruma could simply send the ball for a corner and nullify the threat, which he didn't. So it was a very poor judgement from him. 2) That was a foul, body to body contact with a defender is somewhat acceptable but body contact with goalkeeper is something else, period. 3) I won't blame Benzema cause RMA was desperately looking for the equalizer. Poor decision from both GK & Referee. 4) PSG fans has every right to feel cheated. Shit happens but football moves on. Peace.
Regarding #2. Read the rules. Goalkeeper has more protection then other players, yes, but only when he has the ball under control in his HANDS. When the ball is at his feet, his goalkeeper privileges voids.

@@davidoluwadare2787 Football is a contact game. You're gonna bring the argument that you cannot touch a goalkeeper inside the 5.5 meters, but you are dead wrong. That rule applies only when the Goalkeeper is performing as a ball catcher. When a goalkeeper receives a pass from a team mate's foot, the keeper becomes another player. That's why he cannot touch the ball with hands. Given the keeper is performing as a simple player, all the rules that apply for the simple player apply as well for the keeper. Where did he say this? I can only find him saying that it would have been called a foul if VAR reviewed the play but that Madrid would have been mad if they did.
An easy way for ME to interpret its NOT a foul is by reading the PSG defenders' body language, they dont even raise their hands in protest or complain at all during the play. GOAL!
Donnarumma did nothing wrong. You can not make contact with the keeper for absolute no reason unless you touched the ball first and the contacts comes involutarly. This is not the case. Benzema made contact with Donnarumma, completely ignoring the ball and making Donnarumma lose control. Clear foul big as a house.
It was an obvious Foul. That wasn’t a shoulder to shoulder at all. There was a clear contact from Benzeama , he didn’t even touch the ball. That contact cause Donnarumma to lost his balance. it is a shameful that happened in the era of VAR
He "jumped". You can see benzema stopping as he collides with donnaruma which means he is transferring the momentum to donnarumma. To describe this as him just "jumping" is to say that the laws of physics aren't correct.
I think its a foul...the circumstances of the game psg winning 2-0 made it easy for VAR to let that goal slide....if it was 2-2 and that play happens in the 90th minute its a 100% foul
You really think that if they were 2-2 this is not foul? Really? Against Madrid? Or you forget the match against the Juve and the penalty from Benatia?
Benzama catches his leg first so there is no body to body. As far as I know you are not allowed use your body on an opponent in order to stop him from passing the ball but only to retrieve it for yourself. Still referees makes mistakes especially fotball referees and the referee is not to blame that the whole PSG falls apart while still being ahead when conceding a goal. The best team won.
You see, body posture is important. If the keeper thought it was a foul, then just stay down and make a case. If he cannot determine if it’s a foul, then don’t keep the ball in the area and balloon it. It all comes down to experience. If you want to take a Mickey out of someone by playing it out, then you better be sure you have the technical expertise to do so. The referee should have blown, but The keeper has no one to blame but himself.
Part of the reason is how he kicked the ball so contact from benzema made him fall. And he quickly got up implying that he wasn't injured in the slightest by the contact.

Imagine they booed Messi today for the loss .
He was fouled so its obviously not his fault. Its a risky play that he should have gotten away with since he was fouled.
