- On February 6, EHang announced that the EHANG Autonomous Aerial Vehicle has achieved a series of manned flight tests carrying one and two passengers, including EHang CEO and all executives, as well as many Guangzhou government officials.
At CES 2016, EHang officially launched the world’s very first electric AAV (Autonomous Aerial Vehicle) for low-airspace short-distance air transportation. EHang AAV has 2 seats, 8 arms and 16 propeller.
With the core concepts of autopilot, full redundancy safety design and cluster management by intelligent command and control center, pilots are no longer necessary for a flight, while passengers only need to click the “take-off” button to fly to the selected destination.
EHang AAV (Autonomous Aerial Vehicle) made a big step for the whole Urban Air Mobility industry by carrying up to 17 people in Vienna, April 4th, 2019.
As crowds are pouring into the city, life speeds up, traffic gets denser, and urbanization is close to collapse. We can see more and more roads, tunnels, bridges, still don't solve the problem.
The electrical, vertical takeoff and landing (eVTL), autopilot air taxi could be the best solution.
EHang is a world's leading autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV) technology platform company based in Guangzhou, China. - Věda a technologie
Big respect for your efforts and congratulations on your achievement! People are smiling after the flight-tests, best proof for your accomplishment.
Yes, to offer passenger a safe, convenient and pleasant trip is exactly why EHANG 184 is born. Thank you for your support and appreciation, it means a lot!
Brilliant engineering ,hope it takes off worldwide you deserve it
Dennis Stockhall I know this post is 2 years old but today i read in the newspaper here in Norway that Ehang has been authorized to fly in the Norwegian airspace. It’s in a test fase. There is an investor here in Norway who is gonna start a transport company, probably a taxi drone company. Same in Germany

Been following you guys the last year and blown away by your simple design. Wasn't expecting the two seater, swweeeeeet. Looking at it you can see how some future designs will evolve into something quite spectacular. Excellent work EHANG Team. Big alOhas from Kauai, Hawaii.
It´s nice to see the scene, the nature, mother earth, and the contrast of the past and future... This is just the beginning. Well done EHANG for putting the infinite possibilities of maths and physics to good use.
Exploring the boundaries of human capabilities and the possibilities of the future is always an exciting and meaningful thing to do. Thank you for your support DEVA.
For me it doesn’t matter which country is behind the technology, as long as it stirs up competition, new ideas, collaboration and gets us moving forward. So, congratulations EHANG for making this happen!
Congratulations to all the designers and engineers this is amazing and I hope to see this all over the world.
No this was created by an African man wonder if he got the respect he deserves
I've been seeing videos of this for a few years but it's good to finally see a video with people actually flying inside this thing.
The first two up I've seen with an electric multicopter. Well done.
This is just wonderful guys congratulations China its amazing what humans can achieve. Hello from Belize Central America 😎
progressoful so you congratulated China for this ? A country with the lowest respect for human rights !

Sandy Lee sorry I was answering to somebody else
Great to see that such hard work pays off! Congratulations!!!
I've witnessed that there is huge potential in China and new technologies. Anyway, they rule the world as most things are made in China nowadays...
Monix Strejlau quality wise?
Pretty Sure how often?
Best of everything? Am I hearing right?
It...works. This is the future! Imagine first aid from doctor, who could land in park nearby, skipping traffic jams. Parachute installed would be good.
We are finally seeing "The Jetsons" mode of transport come to life... sort of. The future for this concept should be quite solid.
This is awesome! I hope one day I can purchase one in America and become an American spokesperson and representative for the advertising of such a beautiful work of engineering in the EHANG 184. Kudos to you all for bringing the future to our present. The future is now!
It's amazing. The future becomes reality.
Fantastic! Love the genuine smile of the engineer; you can really see the passion he has for what he's doing.
Way to go guys at EHANG! I have been watching your creation from the beginning with anticipation of a manned flight for a year now, and you delivered! In this video, I can see the confidence in the company all the way through. don't get me wrong I love your competitor's craft too but for the most part, they were rushing it to the market just to get a jump on profit. and when they did get there's up in the air.....i did not see the confidence in there videos like yours, that shows me that safety, dependability, and performance was the focus in the product.
Bravo guys! I wish you every success.
This would be great for this old man's needs. Good work.
Indeed a potential application scenario. Thank you for your support William~
eHang 184 looks to be the most advanced AAV soon to be on the market today! Fantastic.
Quite impressive! The styling is nice too.I respect China and the scientists and engineers that made this work of art! Bravo !
Love this! Maybe I can trasnform my Ford Fiesta on a Machine like this :-)
After knowing how bad Ford Fiestas are, you will most likely die if it ever becomes an aircraft.
Not so bad.
Sure, if you only want to go about 10 miles.
The funny thing is your festiva probably weighs four time as this thing does.
Of course
Great work and congratulations! But how about the maximum flight distance of the 2-passenger version? It shows 8.8km in the video and about 25km(single-passenger version) at your official webside. But I wonder 8.8km will not satisfy people's expectations, especially considering of you need to keep at least 10% of remaining power for redundancy. But finally, I feel very proud of you!Greetings from Guangzhou, China.
Good point. If you believe the range is 8.8Km then in practice to keep some range in reserve for 'go-arounds' or diversion then the practical range would be maybe half of that. Then when you land it takes an hour or more to re-charge it's batteries!
You guys are amazing! Well done..brilliant job!
Awesome! Would definitely want a ballistic parachute and maybe a deployable RAT (Ram Air Turbine) for low power emergency's for high altitude flight. Again simply awesome!
Hello FUTURE!!!
One in Black and Red for me please!!!
Thank you for this progress, and WELL DONE!
Wow, you look like Tarzan, but in real life
Awesome 😃
LOL, thank you :-)
Nice day ✌
Thank you, same to you!
Thank you for your support Reuben. Its color is totally customizable. And nice choice for the "black+red" combination, must look pretty awesome!!!
Amazing...the future transportation begin....Salam from indonesian
Thank for for your support sugeng.

@@EHANG it looks like this will sell well in Indonesia
Sir, much respect to respect to you for your hard work and creativity in bringing this wonderful invention of yours into reality. I always wanted to learn how to become pilot but I never could afford the flying lessons. You've literally invented a kind of one passenger flying car for the general public to use once you can get approval for production. Thank you, and thank you for putting constant effort into design and material to make your vehicle as safe as possible for the pilot.
Great to see it with a person in it.
I want one !!
Really happy that you like it~
Very happy you like it!!!!
Please go to our partner sign up website: www.ehang.com/company/partner/ to leave your personal information and cooperation detail. Then our teammate will follow up your case ASAP. Thank you for supporting EHANG.
I want two so we can Race!
What are you going to do with it ?
Brian 8chison/ No bottle neck anymore. dont have to be angry at traffic jam cause you can fly like a bird.
amazing!!! want it!
Great work! Please keep innovating and pushing forward for all humanity.
I'm flying multirotors since almost 10 years and honestly i can't wait the day i will be able to fly one while sitting onboard.
Trully amazing! Keep going Ehang company
Beautiful and inspirational!
Happy to hear that. Thank you Gabriel~
1950: I bet there'll be flying cars in the future.
2018:
Guys its upside-down, you need lower centre of gravity for safety and stability in weather
Great job! Absolutely love it! Hello from New York USA.
Need me one in blk and blue. Sweet
For an aircraft like this, I'll even tank pink!
Some Kind of Science Dude yeah man. It's awesome
ehang need improve ... put tire from trolley..like malaysia minister do....
So close to being available to the public! I know I can't wait!
Bravo EHANG, just beautifull product. Can't wait to see it or if that lucky fly in one of them...
We need some in Canada!
EHANG 184 says: I also hope to fly in your beautiful country~
Brazil too !
We have something much better here in Canada, search for Mosquito mini helicopter. Plus: you don’t need to snake to get inside
Luiz Fernando have you ever been in a mosquito? No thanks. Your control in an auto rotation event has to be perfect. Their blades don't have near enough weight/ momentum to keep a wide control window. In controlled scenarios they can be ok, but in real world they become sketchy. The redundancy of this craft makes the mosquito look like a suicide wish.
Giacc S I might agree with multi-copter :)
I need one of these in a 6 passenger model! (-:
Definitely our goal in the future:)
One word for you... Robinson... idiot...
Superb Media Content Creator
A helicopter is a completely different mission profile. This thing is autonomous, meaning it doesn't need a pilot, just a flight plan. Secondly, it's electric and rechargeable (batteries are heavy), so the flights are quite short.
For what ? Uber?

Yes
Congrats !! Simply amazing job !
I love to see the future! Awesome work
SUPER!
my god finally i have wait for e'hang 184 2 year ago today and finally it proof safety flight take off well done china and i hope jackie chan will use this e'hang 184 make new movie ~^^"
How are these now? What do you think about their stock?
I love this ! If I were to buy one it would be the EHANG. Thank you for sharing this with us.
You won't be buying one, you call one over to pick you up. You won't have to own one to use it.
thank you 😁😭i can't wait to fly in one of those
I've seen one similar to this called a helicopter
Powered by a battery funny boy?
@Actual_Spirit GFY
Is there a ballistic parachute?
No, but our engineers are continuously optimizing the vehicle to ensure the safety of passengers. Thank you for your opinion Slick.
I would highly suggest the addition on a parachute as a backup safety measure. Just like Cirrus Aircraft have. cirrusaircraft.com/innovation/airframe-parachute/
Yes, that would indeed be a good idea!
Even for the very very rare event something might break or fail, which is not thought of before it does fail, it would be very nice to have a ballistic parachute - but it would have to be connected to the flight controller/battery power via a switch, which would stall all motors immideately once the chute has been fired!
But depending on the height would it be effective let's say at 100ft or 30ft I haven't made it thru the whole video to see what the flight height is before committing so excuse if it's 1k ft or higher
J-MONEY fifty-two-Hgc - Your correct. Not sure a chute would work quick enough at 300M?
Hu Huazhi you rock buddy! God bless you, yours and your efforts!!! This could help bring about positive change around the world.
I wish America worked as hard as these awesome people! You guys really are great!
DJI should make one...
How can the normal person invest in your project?
JP Martin: You are naive teenager...!:O)))
If you need a test pilot in the UK. I volunteer. 😊👍🇬🇧
1.Steal from a billionaire
2.Invest
3.Profit
They are listed in the HK stock market... idiot...
Djone Tan I'm Absolutely Blown away by this Video !!! I've watched Ehang evolve for a few years now ! All of my Admiration and Respect to Everyone involved in this "One of a kind" Masterpiece of Brilliant Mind's !!! May Ehang lead the way for All time !!! God this is Absolutely Incredible !!!!!!!
As a pilot (even private one), I understand now what knights felt when firearms were invented. We spent years and tons of money for training, and now everyone will be able just to pull the trigger and do the job?! DAMN!!!
Seriously, very cool! I want an open cockpit version ;)
THIS IS THE FUTURE!!! MAGNIFICENT CREATION!!!
I hope I can participate in this great project after graduating (T-T)
A warm welcome from EHANG family~
EHANG 😍❤
Yea, invest in the stock on the HK market... idiot...
That's amazing , but my only concern is : The propellers doesn't have protections , thus, if one person wiil be close them , this will can be dangerous.
agreed. the should make the propeller above human head minimum 2.5 m in height or higher
Djone Tan That's it ! Or at least Should have a protection in each propeller.
One solution is ducted fans. They are more efficient. I'm not sure if they are appropriate for this application, as I am not an expert.
An cessna does not have propeller protection
Seems that the propellers have raised many concerns. Thanks for your opinion. Our engineers will continuously optimize this product.
Hi great channel ☺ Keep it up!
Finally! I guess a future of personal manned vehicle is bright.
Congrats for successful manned flights. Now please add propeller guards and safety features to this. those naked blades can chop into the cabin and the human sitting inside with a smile in case of crash.
adding a complete emergency Parachute system is a must too.
Will it have an emergency chute ? China is not known for safety.
I am looking for partners, more infos on FB page @vtolswallow
So there are TWO models now? Fantastic! Ehang is really leading the way. A pity it's only Dubai that's brave enough to grab this opportunity.
middle east dumb fucks......sure.
Very very cool. Will spread the video around. Hope this technology takes off this year.
Your the man love flying my drone and RC airplanes can’t wait till I can fly inside one 👍
Here's George Jetson.... Jane, his wife!!
@oo0ooify Yup.. looks like 2.. Lol
me too!!!
When you building one
Which one are you going with 8 or 16 motors?
Sick Vic. Rotors*
What
I'll take the USA model without motors or props
You know we have them at Area 51
Derek Birmingham It would have to have 16 motors to drive 16 rotors.
One has 4 arms 2 motors each for redundancy, not connected to each other. The other has 8 arms = 16 motors. Apparently our Chinese friends aren't going to answer.
The future is here, Thank you Ehang!
Very well done, You’re doing a great job, Hello Future!
Есть ссылка на алиэкспресс? куплю :)
У вас должно быть очень много денег. Такая штука на данный момент будет стоить около 200-300 тысяч долларов.
если купите то обязательно чтобы бала страховка, парашют крыло как на дельто
We are sitting on our hands while the Chinese are flying drones? WTF?
Exactly ! We need this to happen NOW !
Maybe you're sitting on your hands, this sort of thing is being developed all over the world.
Sorry, guess I wasn't paying attention. I can sure see myself in one.
Not to burst anyone’s bubble here but, just imagine these things in the wrong hands. Let’s say a drunk teenager who can’t even park a FRIGGEN car!!!! Until we adapt our lives to a society that ACTUALLY uses technology like this, people will only die cause they all think “Its soooooo cool!!” Lol. Personal aircraft have been around for years, there’s a reason why it’s not mainstream. Yeah, it’s cool. But it also scares the living shit out of people. Including me.
carpetmogul007 these things won't fall into the wrong hands! A simple facial recognition will easily solve the problem. 10 years from now, or even 5, all new cars on the road will use facial (or voice for that matters) recognition to start the engine. Stop living in the 80s.
This is so goooood, BRAVO !
Amazing work.
Will you incorporate a parachute as a backup safety device?
this is the fucking future!!!!!
Cool! But what will happen if it flips over in the sky?
It crashes... what an idiot to comment this...
it will say BOOOM in few seconds
Such geniuses always pushing boundaries.
Well done Ehang engineers!
Lets see how far it can go with batteries, or small turbine power generator.
Finally i can escape from the wife and smoke a joint with a great view..
And you are the reason this should never be allowed to be sold to just anybody.
I'll let your wife escape tell her to call me

One of the decades wildest dreams realised... well done guys, its a buzz to watch and I really hope one day I can take a ride in one...
Thank you for your encouragement Aegean. I believe that day will not be too far away:-)
When you figure the energy density of the batteries, its probably has an endurance measured in minutes rather than hours.
Read the subtitles - 8.8km range test at 130kph.
That's a pretty decent starting point, only to get better as battery tech improves, or with a micro turbine as power generator.
So, what you are saying is this thing has an endurance of just over 14 minutes at 130 Kph.
My car (a hybrid) has an endurance of 6.5 HOURS at 105 Kph.
Is it a starting point, yes it is. Is it, given the current level of maturity in battery and electric motor technology a promising start? No, its not.
You'd be better off from an efficiency standpoint using a turbine. At that point, you've got a standard helicopter.
Micro Turbine as a gas generator, driving Alternators to charge the system - yup, stated that in other comments already.
But I still think this is a pretty good starting point - it's the equivalent of where EV's were in the 80's, not where Tesla is now.
This is where the engineering breaks down.
If you have to carry fuel and a turbine to charge the batteries, then you add weight and complexity (meaning even more weight) to the entire system.
You also start racking up inefficiencies because now you have to convert chemical energy (fuel) into mechanical energy (the turbine) into electrical energy (the generator) back into chemical energy (the batteries) and finally, back into mechanical energy (the motors).
At each stage you are going to encounter loss, so in the end you are pissing away more power than you are storing.
You've also now made your cute little drone into a gas turbine helicopter, which is a technology we already have, sans the heavy batteries.
And maybe we can build one what goes the speed of light for one hundred million miles.
Its a idea that, while it words, isn't commercially viable.
Call me when it is and THEN I'll get excited.
I have been to the future and I have seen it
The future has come :)
Tom Babcok
Yawn, I was there in November. Already told everybody...
I have witnessed a similar drone fly that was built in the US (Ohio) 2 passenger very cool
I am impressed! Good job!
Any thoughts on why the propellers are placed so low? Wouldn't it be more stable/safe to have them on top?
Cpettan Stable? When it touches down, you don’t want the forces way up top trying to rock it over. As far as flight, the computers can stabilize it at any position if the weight is properly balanced.
For a multicopter, the most stable, neutral handling is achieved with the props level with the center of mass.
I think that's a great point. Stability wise it really doesnt matter because these things have electronic stabilisation. But from a safety point of view it would be MUCH safer if the props were mounted above the fuselage.. Seems like a massive oversight to be honest.
It's a decision, not an oversight. Putting the propellers way above the center of mass causes the copter to act like a pendulum in sharp changes of direction, something that limits the flight envelope and results in either the motors working very hard, or the rider experiencing a roller coaster-like sensation.
Helicopters are not pendulums, they have no fixed pivot. Their rotor is not a pivot on which they swing around. Take a look at every helicopter that flies today for proof, they dont swing around like pendulums and every single one has a rotor high up above the fuselage, even multiple rotor designs such as the Chinook. I think they went for low rotor position because it looks 'cool', it's more about grabbing publicity than any serious expectation to put this actual model into service. Before it would be commercial possibility someone needs to come up with a much better battery which is several years away yet, and I'm sure Ehang know that perfectly well.
Check out the Volocopter VC2 for a design similar to the Ehang that has high mounted rotors that you can safely walk under yet is perfectly stable in flight.
Why u not call it flying car? 🤣 Any macai ph triggered?
Because is an octocopter, not a car
Congratulations , excellent preview and demo , if you send one to England i would love to test fly it :D
This is exactly what I was waiting for, ever since I saw technology starting to progress! Hello future!!!
Watch out.. I think USA will copy this and sell it with cheaper price soon..
Boy Mario I think one American company will sue EHANG for stealing their technology in a US court and get the reward and the American company will become rich by doing nothing.
but produce in china xD
Chinese engineers have designed and built this drone on their own without using any US technology...
USA is horrible at copying, and we don't build shit here, which is why everyday brings us closer to a USSR-type societal crumble. Also, cheaper price? lololololololol. We in the USA specialize in products that give you as little as possible, for as high a cost as possible:)
After decades of cloning US tech, I think we can give the US a slide if they were to clone this.
Can it cut the grass
Not sure but it came crop your head off.
LOL
Yeah. not really a fan of those open rotors. Even if the aircraft had sensors to avoid those blades hitting objects, that's useless when the object just flies into a blade's path. And then it's all a matter of how many rotors can the aircraft lose before losing too much lift (assuming the software can deal with a dead rotor and asymmetrical lift).
i can see neighbor kids running to see it and get mutilated....kid confeit
Very impressive. The fruits of your dreams and hard work have paid off. Congratulations.
I love the collective human spirit that positively improve our existence here on our beautiful Earth. This is the beginning of a new frontier that will change the course of humanity and perhaps saves mother Earth. Cities and countries can develop much faster and cleaner because with technologies like the Ehang 184, there will no longer be a need to build infrastructure that cost billions of dollars and impact the environment. So I say Kudos to Team Ehang for a job well done.
I feel bad when a person stay close to the propeller. I picture the engine turn on at this moment. Unless it has a security system for that.
A cessna is FAA cerified and has no propeller protection
I thought the same. Propeller is too low.
...yeah, they should just put circular casings around those, make it a million times safer!
Why do you keep posting the same response - when have you ever seen a Cessna's prop and leg level on both sides of you when entering and exiting the cabin?
Twin engine aircraft have cut off heads and arms, but they still make them and sell them. Just ask Jack Newton.
Succeeding where Moller failed
Moller was just too analog to make it all work but he was there in concept...
I still have my model Moller car on the shelf
I TRULY WISH YOU THE BEST. CANT WAIT TO BUY ONE
Kudos ......a big salute to the engineers & scientists around the world it's because of them our living style is always been convinient day by day.......
