To be fair, it makes a lot of sense. By exposing him through viral internet culture, the whole thing is known far and wide, and if Rainer were to be found and killed by Marvin, the whole thing wouldn't just be silenced. Tbh I have a lot of respect for Paul.
He made this game knowing that one day it may get attention (which it did) just so he could tell a heartbreaking story of a ten year old girl and also bring awareness to the kids in the adoption system
(the creators name is Tony idk if it's the same person who made the let's play but I assume) on his twitter he said he regrets making it because obviously it's a brutally depressing story ft an unfiction but I'm glad he did because of the awareness it brought I'll never forget this... Rip

Of all the theories I’ve watched on this channel (and that would be every single one of them), the six petscop theories are the only ones to have ever legitimately scared me. The girl spinning around inside the windmill still gives me chills to this day.
