Third industrial revolution was 1945-1970's where atomic power came into being and Asia starts to become a dominant industrial force. America becomes a service orientated society. The fourth industrial revolution is 1980's to present with computer and electronic technology coming to forefront.

You've missed out the Steam Engine in your Inventions list.
Why does Textiles and Textile machinery always come first?
Take away Textiles and Textile machinery and you'd still have an Industrial Revolution.
Take away the Steam Engine and Steam machinery and there would be no Industrial Revolution.

From 1800 to 1900 in England.
    20,000 Waterwheels declined in number.
    Windmills declined in number.
The Englishman Thomas Newcomen's 1500 Atmospheric Pumps disappeared.
The Scotsman James Watt's 500 Steam Engines and their successors increased in number to 10,000,000!
Total available Power increased by between 1400 and 1500 times, a percentage increase of between 40,000% and 50,000%!!!
The Industrial Revolution was a Power Revolution.
And it was all kicked of by only one invention, James Watt's invention of the world's first PRACTICAL Steam Powered Engine.
It was nothing to do with Textiles and Spinning machinery.

  • @wattage-uk9zt
    @wattage-uk9zt Před 6 měsíci +1

James Watt didn't improve Newcomen's Atmospheric Pump, it couldn't be improved, even by James Watt.
Even a 100% efficient atmospheric pump would give a maximum 14.7 psi. of atmospheric power.
James Watt did invent the world's first PRACTICAL Steam Powered Engine.
Watt dumped Newcomen's Atmospheric Power and Arkwright's Water-Power for high pressure Steam Power.
To achieve that he had to invent a new engine, the world's first PRACTICAL High Pressure Steam Engine.
It was the one and only invention that created the first and biggest Industrial Revolution.
    It was a Power Revolution.
No more Newcomen Atmospherically Powered Pumps or Arkwright's Water-Powered 2000 years old Water-wheels.

No offence but this is a little silly, creating phrases in an on going process, why don't we do this with the agricultural revolution?
The simple answer is because the term is used to indicated the moment of change from the total reliance of one method to the greater reliance on anther.
