I mean he pretty much looked the same. The only difference I can tell is he has a hood and a cape in this one rather than full on robes. I think Doom’s design was definitely one of the best things about these films.
First film: he had Metallic skin under his robes
Second film: he actually wears metal Armor
He even looked a lot like God Emperor Doom

I love going frame-by-frame at 1:02 and looking at the tiny amounts of detail they put into Doom's hand for just a split second with all the bones, muscles, and nerves showing through the skin after he attacks everyone.
I don't care what anyone says I love these movies. The little kid in me that saw these films first still governs my opinions about them.

I love how, as soon as Doom steps on it, the board deepens to this dark metallic, almost-black shade, like he's literally corrupting it.

The choices for Doom and Reed were great. Honestly, I really hope Marvel brings them back. I don't think we'll be able to get Chris Evans back for Human Torch, but honestly, I'd be happy with just the actors for Reed and Doom coming back.
Age might be an issue as it's been over a decade since these Fantastic Four films but I agree and I'd love to see Michael Chiklis back as The Thing too, he was pretty much the character taken straight from the comics. They'll most likely just recast them all though sadly.

Imagine how awkward it would be to bring him back to play Johnny Storm. It won't happen. Unless they Arrowverse it like when they made a joke in the Infinite Earths event about how Brandon Ruth superman looked like Atom (Because Atom is played by the same actor). But I think it's highly unlikely. I think if they do a fantastic four, they are gonna have to recast Human Torch in order to make it work.

General Hager's pride was so hurt (i.e. he held a grudge against Reed, he trusted Doom over Reed's sound advice, the responsibility for the resulting disaster was his) that his desire to redeem his pride overcame his common sense. Despite it being obviously futile, Hager kept shooting Doom in the desperate hope that he can fix the problem he himself started without needing to apologize to Reed or the US government. Unlike Reed, Doom showed Hager no mercy and the general paid for his pride with his life. It's an example of how pride can end up being your ruin if taken too far.

Nobody knew at the time how close this movie was to be a milestone for the genre... Some more intimate drama and a Galactus that looks like Galactus and this would have been in the MCU

2:16 this part always kinda disturbed me when I was younger, like I thought it was awesome but just how abruptly he was killed and how you can still see his face after... being transmuted or whatever, gave me the creeps lol. Still that was a great way to show off the power Doom obtained.

Julian McMahon really did a fantastic job as Victor Von Doom! He’s menacing, threatening, conceiving, and sinister!! One of the best villains in a superhero movie! Right up there with Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin

I love how Dr.Doom’s origin is much like in the ultimate universe that he is tied with the FF. Also, while the FF powers represent the 4 classical elements (Water,Air,Fire and Earth) Dr. Doom represents the metal element. I am unaware if it was ever official but when I saw the film, I observed Dr. Doom’s metallic physiology grants him: super strength(not on the things level) durability (being metal) electrical manipulation (it seems being metal allows him to absorb easily electricity from outside sources and even static in the air and release electrical blasts) conductivity ( he seems to also channel other forms of energy to create blasts of energy) Energy absorption (my theory is his new physiology also gives him a literal hunger for power so he is a metaphorical and literal power hungry maniac) Limited Magnetism (As a metal, he can probability generate magnetic charge to have limited magnetism) levitation (Probably) Plus his genius level intellect. His only known weakness like all dooms from the multiverse is his ego that blinds him from achieving his goals.

If you didn't noticed, when Silver Surfer steps on the board, he changed from normal silver to shiny silver. But when Doom stepped on the board, its the board that changed instead of him and it turns dark

The door is flying across the hallway, then hits Ben, causing him to crash into the wall behind him, crushing Reed in the wall, then Sue asks where Reed is, then Reed says back here, then after Reed gets out of the wall, Ben raises his hand, and he says my bad in an apologetic and funny way. Who else thinks those are some of the funniest moments of this movie?
