Lyrics:
Got so much salt from your lies poured into me
You didn't see yourself dead already
So full of with every breath that you breathe
But you forgot that in your fairy tale I'm the wolf
All this attention got you thinking that you're a queen
You think that everything you're doing isn't a dream, long as it feel alright.
I had gotten frozen by the way that you walked,
by the love that you gave, by that look on your face
It's a coverup
I know everything
[x2]
You're made for four letter fame
Regret is part of your name
There's something you couldn't tell
It's what you wanted to feel
It's what you're dying to feel
Check out your face on the wall
Like what you see?
I'm sure you see yourself oh so unique
You're just a sucker for the flame of the week
But you forget that in your fairy tale bitch I'm the wolf
All this attention got you thinking you we're a queen
You thought that everything in life you want should be free
Nothing is what you think
I had gotten frozen by the way that you walked,
by the love that you gave, by that look on your face
It's a coverup
I know everything
[x2]
You're made for four letter fame
Regret is part of your name
There's something you couldn't tell
It's what you wanted to feel
It's what you're dying to feel
[x5] - Hudba
This is one of my favorite songs by them. Mostly because I can play it and people dont slowly back away lol.
You should try playing some Converge at work
@@JayM1989bro really replied to a 10 year old comment
Mostly, the ones who smiles are the ones who dont play any instrument. Dont worry about them ;)
I love seeing old comments, makes me think, what happened to the person behind the account?
PANIC CHORDS INTENSIFIES
But you forget that in your fairytale, bitch, I'm the wolf....
Damn, I love these lyrics... lol
I didn't know that that a single song could sum up Dillinger. They're extremely versatile, and this song is basically a patton-era faith no more tribute(which is siiick).
I like the fact they can play something like this, 43% burnt, Mouth of Ghost, and When I Lost My Bet. All different, crazy songs in different levels of technical structure and musical approach. It doesn't get much better than TDEP.
Amen brother!
Diverse. Dynamic. Excellent. That's sounds like Dillinger.
Beau Ferchaud No
And also make such a random and awesome music video!
+Oscar Ferchaud Yes.
Puciato had two fathers. One was Adam Sandler and the other was Mike Patton.
his step dad was macklemore
They can pose as each other and no one would tell.
his brother is chris martin
Weird- Mike Patton was in DEP for awhile.
Christian Melendez no, mike patton was in the irony is a dead scene ep. under the running board was with dimitri
guess i can understand why dillinger fans complain about this song because its so different to their other stuff, but it really shows off their talents. This has become one of my fav songs of all time.
Imagine complaining now, Dillinger is a part of history. Missed dearly.
If you are a Jazz musician, you really should listen to this album from Dillinger Escape Plan (and perhaps others from them), it's very good actually. Some of these musicians were jazz musicians too. And if you listen to it carefully you will find a lot of jazzy details in them songs. Hope you enjoy it :)
DEP is just genius. The fact that they can do something like this, 43% Burnt and Farewell Mona Lisa and sound great on all of it is just amazing. This is one of most totally original sounding "singles" I've ever heard in my life. Wow.
I seen them live once in a tiny club supporting mastodon with red fang, I was a dumb teenager then. Now I know I probably won't ever be able to see them again I feel like a spud.
What a lineup!
Got dammmm, all fuckin sweet bands dude.
i saw them opening for thursday at a small venue in east st louis, 17 year old me was not prepared for that but it was insane. i got to catch them on the farewell tour with o'brother and cult leader too
Lucky bastard
Same here bud, I saw them with mastodon and red fang at the sound academy in Toronto many years ago. Red Fang is such an underrated band...
These guys have the most brutal live show ever.
They do...close to as brutal as Converge.
Hatebreed was always intense live too.
I got hit with his guitar!!
They're kinda known for it... since like 2000.
Fat Dogs Drunk manson?
The thing is that while they can create a song like this they can still produce bone shattering mathcore better than anyone else out there. They aren't losing their edge, they are just swinging a longer blade.
Bumpin' this masterpiece in 2019. Long live TDEP!
The drumming in this song is literal genius.
Gil Sharone is that dude
Only played on this record though
gil fucking rips. love billy too though.
in THIS song? dude you need to check out the whole album
Sounds like Faith No More on more drugs than usual. I can dig this.
More? Impossible
Well ironically enough they said they didn’t do any drugs
Mike Patton did an EP with them
@@mabus7458 Yeah, I think Patton changed the shape of the vocals in Dillinger moving forward.
Too bad Faith No More are not junkies
Greg Puciato has the best vocals in metal. One of the greatest male vocalists in all music in my opinion. His range is insane. Huge variety of vocal techniques. Excellent dynamics. I don’t feel like he gets the recognition due because many never listened to Dillinger. He’s sought after by many producers and musicians. His performance on Jerry Cantrell’s last record was beautiful. Imaginary Fire- Carpenter Brut was a showcase of this man’s vocal talent. I absolutely love listening to this guy sing. I’m not usually in to vocals. It’s not that I don’t like them, it’s just that the instrumental arrangements of most songs are what catch my attention.
Saw them lastnight with Deftones at Sound Academy, they rocked the shit out of that place, music sounded alot heavier it was awesome!!! Chino from deftones and the lead singer of dillinger did Passenger together!!! Freakin awesome!!
How diverse can this band get?!
Amazing :')
Faith no More!!
Hehe yeah it could be a FNM track.
Mike Patton, aka Faith No More's vocalist, actually did vocals on one of their EPs.
thanks for reminding me of one of my favorites of the late 90s
Mike Patton did an EP with them when they were between singers, and he really influenced the way they write. You can hear FNM, Peeping Tom, Mr Bungle, and especially Fantomas influences all over Ire Works and Miss Machine
this came out when I was in like 5th grade and I'm a senior now. and it still rocks as much as ever
wat
Feetus Gaming dont mind her. Shes on drugs
What a woman.
aaaaaaaaaand replay.
Heard that. Very original band with some familiarity and virtuosity making it not so familiar. what I say?
This new Faith No More single is pretty good. Didn't know they were back together.
Well Mike Patton has worked with these guys... I wonder why there might be some similarities vocally. FNM influences a lot of bands amd have Mike especially has influenced many other singers. Personally I see nothing wrong with it. In fact I wish more bands were as awesome these two. Oh and FNM are back together....
First time hearing this jazz. Love it. LOVE IT!!!!!
one of my favorite songs. all categories
"The Shape of Punk To Come" was ahead of its time and is still one of the most underrated albums of all time, I don't care if anyone says differently. Point being, Both Refused and DEP are amazing yet they're underrated bands, sadly.
I agree man, that album came out in '98 or so and sounded from 2015.
Everything is rated appropriately. Including this band.
@@andyturpen Nah your mom's overrated
dillinger have gone through so many band changes: styles, members, genres. but one thing is for sure, they always come up with crazy shit and they are definetley one of the most talented bands ever. CALCULATING INFINITY FOR EVER!
This is my favorite song by these guys! I love the music video too.
I love this song. Can not stop singing it.
You guys were legends RIP
Holy hell if Primus and Nine Inch Nails had a child it would be this song
Primus? This doesn't sound like Primus at all.
+quantumsingularity that was based off the first like 20 seconds of the song it reminded me of my name is mud
They sound like a high-pitched Melvins
The band youre looking for is Faith No More
More like Faith No More and Nine Inch Nails
i love this, and their other works but ire work was the first album i heard by them and i was stuck instantly, so great album.
i love all of The Dillinger Escape Plan's stuff. This just shows hoe awesome and musically diverse they are.
One of my favorite comments from MySpace when this first came out: "This song is Unretrofied times gay"
It's the bass(:
NEW ALBUM COMING..
STILL PLAYING THIS ALBUM....
TDEP one of the best
One of my favorite songs by them.
They have gotten alot better with their style of music and I can't wait to see what they do in their next album!
anyone listening to this in 2020?
Sure I do! ;)
No
Sept 1 2020 listening rn boi
Yep. One of my favorite songs by them, but I never saw the video before
Oh yes.
That song is a little bit NIN sounding!
P-A Luneau Yeah, well... I'm starting to get into Dillinger Escape Plan, and I'm a huge Mike Patton and Trent Reznor fan.
Gotta say that he sounds really similar to both of them!
The Mike inlfuence was obvious, btw, since they've been in his label, and they even did an EP toghether..
P-A Luneau It has the same base groove as Please by NIN
+UncreativeUser182 I can totally say that when I first heard this song, I immediately thought of Muse. But whatever they can pull off, they will always sound like DEP At least they have so far, always keeping their vibe. There's no band like Dillinger, and they're my favourite right now.
a bit of nin and a hint of fnm
Trent Reznor actually invited the whole band to play the song wish with them, he said they “kinda blew us away”
This was one of the first metal bands i ever started listening to the first being between the buried and me and still after all these years i still find myself moshing in my car while driving when these guys play on my ipod
Heard this. Heard the remix. love both. Love TDEP. Great stuff.
Tom Hardy sure is a good singer.
I'm glad someone said something 😂
More like macklemore to me xd
Omg 😂😂
I want this song for my wedding.
I want closer by Nine inch Nails for my wedding.
if you read the lyrics, this isn't a good wedding song lol
wow what a nice sond. veeery addictive
This is one of their calmer songs, listen to Farewell, Mona Lisa and be blown away.
I never knew Tom Hardy was a singer
James McGrath Mouse Rat must not have worked out.
Luke Bailey Sure Ben Affleck's the guitarist. They're an actor-based super-band, did you not know this? ;)
How can everyone overlook Vinny Jones on the drums? :O
best band
Good song, something different and you can feel influence and style by Mike Patton, little bit of Faith No More spirituality touch...nice,love IT !! !
One good thing with dillinger is they created something "truely" unheard before, and it's kind of rare in this century. Another is that after being surprising at first (in their beginning) they still are able to surprise with things you don't expect from them, without deceiving. Definitly one of the most creative, talented and unpredictable bands i ever heard of.
this dude reminds me of a harder trent reznor
RIGHT?
Harder?? Trent is pretty "hard" in his own way
Is this really Dillinger? All the other stuff I've heard by them made me shit my eyeballs out.
I guess this is their pop song...I still like it.
Nah, One Of Us Is The Killer is their pop song
Unretrofied
calculating infinity saved my life
They will never better Calculating Infinity
I started hearing it yesterday, this my favourit for now
"i had gotten frozen by the way you walk, by the love that you gave, by the look on your face its a cover up, i know everything"
love that part!
These guys are so innovative in sad I didn't get to see em live . TDEP waa known to destroy venues even with melodic songs like this
360p?!?!? i'm impressed!
2008
Should be 4k
Excellent song off an excellent album by an excellent band.
This was my introduction to Dillinger Escape Plan and I love it
Liam looks dope
I've known about these guys for almost a decade and never really looked into their music. I've heard a couple songs here and there and I remember it being COMPLETELY different than this!!! The offbeat and "odd" songs were alright but this song?! They have my fucking attention now! Are there any good song suggestions out there?!
I'm a year late but One Of Us Is The Killer, Widower, Mouth of Ghost, and Dissociation are a few other mellow songs they've done, Gold Teeth On A Bum is another great song
DEP with their best Faith No More impression
I do love this song. A lot.
Me gusta su música
Is that Tom hardy from the legend
I love that they went with a completely different sound with this song.
It shows how incredible they are as writers. In the same way as when Every Time I Die released "The New Black" - this song shows the 'other end' of their music.
They have some good mellow songs.
Ok now Patton, look what you've done.
Have you heard the new Slipknot's album? It’s bloody amazing, sound wise
I showed this song to my niece who's into shitty pop music and it's like her favorite song now. If Dillinger could just get some radio play for their more melodic songs, they might be way more popular than they are now.
Kyle Benson Show her Sugar coated sour lol.
Have this album. It's great.
This song and his vocals remind me of something that should have been on an earlier Mike Patton record when he was still with them, obviously I love the song so I think they pulled this off really well
anyone else hear FNMs mouth to mouth here ? :)
David Hamill my first listen of this band and automatically thought of FNM!!!
Friday night magic??
mysticblaz e faith no more
He looks like Tom Hardy
Pfft, that's a stretch
+Ondřej Bursa That's why i love this band (hahahahaha, just kiddin'... a lil' bit)
I remember when this came out I was mad because it didnt sound like the DEP i knew. Now 10 years later I decided to give their other album a try and I can't stop listening to this song !
I love the old dillinger stuff and i love this too, their potential is unlimited. does remind me of mike patton quite a lot too.
oh how I hate being surrounded by people listening to the Top 40 garbage.
Don't count out ALL of them. 4 or 5 might be from good bands in the right place.
You should consider moving to Antarctica, then.
triggered
hahaha!
the door knocking intro is stuck in my head. its how i not on doors now!
i just love their looks at the camera during this vid...
The most MGTOW song you'll listen to today
You´re Goddamn right!
Um, Macklemore's new song is weird.
well just wait for the new album and be amazed at yet another 180 degree turn. There are some previews on their youtube account and it reminds me so much of the old songs like panasonic youth.
love this song..sooo catchy!
I Saw DEP years ago for the "Calculating Infinity" tour at the El Torreon in Kansas City. Great show, excellent energy from the group.
saw 'em a few years back with a relapse showcase pretty much....they set the sound system on fire...like literally....it was great
Great song. just got into this band a little while ago and this whole album is brilliant.
I don't think I could love this band much more than I already do.
awsome song
i mastered the art of constantly pouring water on my ears while listening.
no actually their sound grew on me after a while. pretty interesting once you get past the whole weird sound changes and screaming. keep listening and youll find gems like this on most of their albums.
Wow the coolest thing just happened, watching an ad before this video, AND IT GAVE ME THE OPTION TO SKIP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
bad acid trip + awesome song = awesome video
These guys are dope! Very unique band!
This is a great song. If all of their stuff sounded more like this I would be a fan.
I really enjoyed when Gil sharone was drumming for them he gave them a new angle of weirdness they were needing. But strangely it is there more straightforward stuff that appeals with Gil. He does a great job of doing the old stuff but it doesn't have his influence intwinned through it as much as this stuff. Awesome drummer
bery bery bery goooooood!!!
festinhas pra toute le munde....
I hope they're playing this on their current tour, such a great song!!!
tune , dont get many of there other songs but they are slowy growing on me :)
Heard this bands song "setting fire to sleep giants" a long time ago and loved it but I'm just now getting to there other stuff. I freaking LOVE the instrumentals and vocals and everything.
Saw them 3 days ago, they're unbelievable.
Cancionón de una bandaza!!!! Ojalá se vuelvan a reunir nuevamente como banda! 🤟
So cool
You know when you search for that song from long ago and find it? Yes, that! This right here!
Now, all I gotta do is to find kiwa buddah
@@anotherkilleramongst I excluded that search being fruitful at age 5. Not going to pick it up at 55.
One of their best songs
