It's all your fault... Started watching your channel about 2 months ago. I tore apart my back deck and built my first raised bed. It gets worse. The plants started growing and 2 more raised beds appeared. Another week later 2 more. Fast forward to now and I'm up to 8 beds and tons of 5gallon buckets. I'm hooked and soon my yard will disappear. Thanks for the inspiration, love your show.

I would leave space to be able to weed eat down between the beds and walk space to fully be able to plant that larger bed from both sides. But you know best! I would love to have these raised beds, but being on Social Security pinches the old budget too tight. However, I was driving past a local tree nursery, and I found 4 HUGE black planters that trees come in, and they hadn't been cut to remove the delivered trees. I got permission to take them, and with a little hügelkultur learned from you, I have created 4 raised beds. I am looking for more of the big planters to be put out to increase my garden size. In the meantime, I am also using the big horse feed tubs from a friend as smaller planters. I just drill holes in the bottom, do a much smaller version of hügelkultur , and voila! I can plant herbs and greens! Thank you Mark, you make it look...well, not easy, but POSSIBLE. Love from Texas!

I use tyres from places that sell and change tyres. They are happy to get rid of them (coz they don't have to pay for disposal). Only thing is that, if you ever dismantle the garden, they can't go into your normal rubbish collection or council clean up (In Australia). Tractor tyres are the best for a higher raised bed but some car tyres are quite fat with quite big holes nowadays.

Having been involuntarily retired, (no - not sacked, lol,) and coronavirus preventing my from travelling I invested in more Birdie's Raised Garden Beds. I now have eight of the 385mm 2.5 x 1.2 metre models, each placed on a frame base of 50 x 200mm treated pine, and sixteen of the 740mm models, each on a base of 50 x 150mm. To prevent bulging along the sides, which happened with the first two beds I installed, I drilled out lengths of 30 x 30mm angle iron and bolted them inside. (That gave my drill-press a good workout, believe me!) The beds are separated by 1 metre paths of woodchips to allow for wheelbarrows and a neighbour's mobility scooter. Thought I might have overdone it a bit but having seen Epic Gardens, Huw Richards and your websites I know I'm doing he right thing.

I love your garden beds Mark. I have a huge semi permanent in ground garden and I’ve built several raised beds around the edges and throughout the rest of my property. I like raised beds but I find they are a little more difficult for me because I have to water them more often and I work a lot so I tend to forget them where I can just turn the water on in the main garden and then I just have to move the hose to the other section 1 time. I use buried drip tape in my in ground garden. Eventually when I get water run to the rest of my property and I don’t have to drag a hose everywhere I’d love to have lots of those raised beds. I think on the big beds by your pumpkin vine you might enjoy a little space between them and the other beds so you can move around them without walking around the entire row every time you want to get to the other side of onesie them. I was also thinking you can lay that cardboard in the bottom of them before you backfill and the worms will love it and it will keep weeds from coming up right away.

Bought 2 large tall beds here in the US. Top quality and simple to assemble. You can see the high quality materials and design when you get one. I plan to buy many more.

Oh your poor back! Yes, leave space between, or you could have the same problem of other beds and not be able to reach all parts easily, plus you wouldn’t have to back up and go around to get in and out of garden (my thought!). Thanks for the chuckles when watching how clever you were to move them around! Oh your poor back. Would love to see your process of filling them up, too. Big thanks for the excellent video you provide. So well thought out for best viewing for us. The time lapse gives us the ability to watch as you work, without slowing you down. Bonus! Keeping eyes out for more videos, have a great day!

To solve the over hang issue you could combine two beds by taking out the bends and connecting them together.
You could then use the bends to create a small bed, do that with all 8 beds that are going to be next to one another and you have 4 small beds.
The way the birdies beds are designed it should work well with no bowing.
Love to hear others thoughts on that idea.

Hi Mark ! Great job mate 😅 I would leave a gap between the beds, is good to walk around them ;) all the best

I think you'd be grateful to have a space to get between your larger beds, esp when planting and cleaning out for the next season

I loved this! Your humor and how you approached this is contagious! Can't wait for the next one!

I think a slight gap for the big beds is a good idea - more space to walk around and garden in between beds, the better!

We use the galvanized steel window wells sold at Lowe's as our raised garden beds / compost piles. We plan on getting more. We have 5 right now and fill them with the soiled bedding from our Embden geese, 🐓🐔 and 🇬🇳 fowl pens. We are eastern Idaho and planting season starts on about the first of June. In May we can always assume that we have one more frost. Happened more than once. We will have herb and vegetable window pots this winter in each of our windows.
