Funny nuff. Reading the stations logs after you kill this thing reveals that its not real but instead the mind controll device trolled you and made you fight your self
Imagine doing this with no damage,your fleet starts shooting itself but by sheer bullshit nothing connects and you destroy the device

Yea… had my first run in with them 2 weeks ago just one of the dam things soloed 3 metafalicas before an onslaught sent it to phase 2…of 3 (side not I cheated in the other 2 metafalicas becuase I love them that much)
i do want that system not gonna lie :P the polsar one because i got my fucking capital there a HELL of a good onslaught. she has done well in tanking the fleets i hunt down
funny, at modded fleets sizes it once threw 3 at me.

In one of my campaigns, I find the research station that has automatic defense force of THREE OF THESE SHIPS!!! This is my very first time see this type of ship. My fleet at that time is also endgame fleet so I thought to myself why not I am strong anyway. Oh how wrong I am, all of my ships are dead, only one cruiser left barely alive! Millions of credits worth of ships and equipments gone! It is the greatest battle I have ever get myself into and I am very proud of myself that I win that first try. I try to fight them again later one, but all 7 times I die horribly. Welp, luck is better than skill, I guess 🤷♂️
Number of those bastards scale with amount of ships AFAIK.
After multiple attempts, I was able to solo it with Notre Dame
Skill means you have to be good every time, you only gotta get lucky once.

now I want to see something like this, but instead of a single large supership, it's an entire fleet hellbent on galactic domination
The amount of retries and special relic ships I needed to bring those two AH's down for the first time hurt me in a way that not just requires therapy but electro-convulsive treatment to expunge that part of me forever.
Edit: Ok I did NOT notice that those things had those head looking things on the front.

Hey just wanted to say thanks. Randomly found your channel. Pirated the game. Then paid for it. Good times. Now started a colony and pirates are constantly trying to raid with base unknown location FML. Stay awesome. I will figure it out or die. F5 Always.
Rush out heavy industry and/or defensive structures. It's not cheap, and not really effective but should fend off the pirates and maybe even smaller faction raids
Just be careful with the ludd cells bullshit

I joined the pirates then carries out the destruction of pretty much every other faction..only to be betrayed by the pirates..
Should play as one of the endgame Boss ships from the "Seeker - Unidentified Contact" mod once it is available for the latest game build; the Rampage and Cataclysm are tremendously fun fleet killers!

It's like one of the factions made some experiments and gone wrong and created an ever expanding flesh that grew adapted to space with conscious and now has a goal to infest the whole galaxy

i'd look into the hiver swarm faction mod, that's pretty close to what you're describing
What if that's why the sector is so isolated? What if the gates didn't fail, they were shut down on purpose to contain such monsters? And maybe the AI is trying to keep the remaining humans hemmed in to keep us from feeding the beasties?
I have no proof of any of this, but boy it sure does sound cool in my head.

This god damn space lobster. I came across it in fairly early game and decided to come back to it later after it ruined me. Many hours later I'm back with a fleet full of mine laying phasers that outright obliterate pretty much every other fleet in the game, expecting it to be an easy kill and it just wipes me again. Managed to get a few phases in at least.
I think there is a dearth of body horror necromorph spacecraft. I'd love to see a fleet based on this bad boi.

Try working with the TriTach faction, using high-tech ships and AI cores, either spamming said cores and going to war with the hege, or using high-tech ships to ruin the Luddic factions.

You know those station defense quests? On one of them i got a fleet that was half Abyssal Horror, half The Mess
The Mess didn't field anything special.
The Horrors fielded 5 ships. Five.

Would be nicer if the ship you got is as strong as the ship you're fighting against in that station. No nerfs, same skillsets, can detach multiple part and fight.
One more dumb question, how do I use older mods with the newer version. It said i could edit the file for the orange mods, but cant figure out how.

I removed the Automated Ship hullmod via the game files so I could control the ship myself.
This may seem strange but can anyone direct me to the mod he used for the AI faction quest for the cores? Not sure which one in the mod list it is.

Second, how did you control the ship yourself?! It will not let me control it and I want to rampage with it!
I basically spawned it in using the console mod, I also had to adjust the ship file and removed the "automated ship" hullmod so that I would be able to personally control the ship.

How do you choose what ship to start with. I can only start with the presets. I have all the same mods "I think"
