  • Overlooking the Kentucky River and the Kentucky State Capitol, at a prime location inside Frankfort Cemetery, is Daniel and Rebecca Boone’s graves. Daniel was a legendary woodsman, explorer and many think he was the first non-native American to see Kentucky. For being so famous, when he died in Missouri, his grave was not even marked, nor was his wife that had died a few years before. 25 years after Daniel passed away, the owners of a new cemetery in Frankfort, Kentucky, convinced his descendants that he and Rebecca should be honored by being buried in his once beloved Kentucky. The problem is that the bones taken to Frankfort may not actually be of Daniel or his wife,…

Hey Robert! Both Boone Brothers had weird things happen to their remains. Squire Boone was buried in an Indiana cave, but legend has it that his son dug him up and reburied him with his wife, in Kentucky, not far from Fort Knox. The grave is actually on military grounds and you have to get special permission to go there. However, Squires skull and short arm bone were found in the same cave, back in the 1970’s, and they were moved deeper inside Squire Boone Caverns. Visitors pass his coffin on every single tour! I made a video about Squire and his cave:
